We offer a cottage rental in a typical and authentic water mill (whose wheel still works) for 10 people in Charente Maritime to:
- 40 minutes from the beaches,
- 12 km from Saintes and the A10 motorway.
- 5km from St Savinien and 2km from Taillebourg.
- 33km from Cognac
- 1 hour from La Rochelle and 1h30 from Bordeaux.



We have 5 rooms with their own bathroom (toilet, shower or bathtub)
The mill has a large living room and a kitchen with internet connection

There is a swimming pool, a garden, car parking, bike and motorcycle available

Perfect pool

Great lay out and equipment for large family group. Everyone has an ensuite. The pool and garden were shady and cool in our unusually hot week. This ancient mill has an interesting ambience.

A magical, charming house and property

We loved the beautiful house and its spacious yards and pool. The house is incredibly unique, comfortable and beautifully, cleverly renovated from its mill days. For a family of 7 adults and 4 children, we were able to have relaxing communal time on the “open” first floor and outdoors in the spacious backyard while also having ample space for privacy in our bedrooms and bathrooms on the second floor. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare family meals. Although the area is quiet and idyllic, it is a short drive from a great river beach and a couple large super markets in Saintes. The hosts were warm, hospitable and responsive in every way - from the start when we contacted them for information, before our arrival when we had questions, and when they greeted, welcomed and showed us the property upon our arrival. All in all, the Annepont mill house is an amazing value and gave us a wonderful vacation that will be etched in our memories forever. We simply could not have asked for more from the hosts and their one-of-a-kind property.

Le Moulin de Annepont est un gîte très bien équipé , confortable et original . L'accueil est très sympathique et nous avons eu toutes les explications nécessaires pour un excellent séjour.

Schade

Der Empfang war sehr herzlich. Sehr nette Besitzer. Die Schlafzimmer und auch die Badezimmer waren sauber. Die Wäsche konnte nicht im Schrank geräumt werden, weil diese fürchterlich nach Feuchtigkeit rochen. Leider konnte man dies von den übrigen Räumen nicht sagen. Der Backofen war sehr schmutzig. Die Küchenutensilien kaum brauchbar. Das ganze Haus ist sehr hellhörig. Wer gerne früher als die anderen zu Bett gehen möchte, hat schlechte Karten. Auch konnte man die Zimmertüren nicht aufstehen lassen, weil dann am Abend Fledermäuse in die Zimmer geflogen sind. Bei Regen ist das Wasser durch die Decken gekommen. Im Garten konnte man nirgendwo in Ruhe liegen, weil dort alles voller Ameisen war. Ein auf dem „ersten Blick“ schönes Gebäude, auf dem zweiten Blick, etwas heruntergekommen und ungepflegt. Wir als Familie haben so etwas in den ganzen Jahren, in denen wir im Urlaub fahren, noch nicht erlebt.

Bonjour Björn, Nous sommes désolés que votre séjour au Moulin ne vous ait pas apporté entière satisfaction. Nous avons été très surpris de votre mécontentement à votre départ au vu de nos échanges durant votre séjour. Les nombreux voyageurs ayant séjournés au Moulin ont tous étaient satisfaits de leur séjour et beaucoup sont repartis tout à fait charmés par les lieux. Le Moulin est une bâtisse datant du XVème siècle, dont nous avons à cœur de préserver le charme et l'authenticité, ainsi que son environnement naturel exceptionnel, tout en assurant un confort accueillant à nos hôtes. Nous souhaitions apporter quelques précisions concernant vos précieuses remarques, dont nos tiendrons compte afin d'améliorer notre accueil. Concernant la fuite : Nous sommes désolés de ce désagrément inopiné. En effet nous avons constaté tout récemment un passage d'eau de pluie à un endroit du toit. Il y a malheureusement eu un fort orage durant votre séjour et une fuite qui a durée quelques minutes. Nous venons de réaliser un aménagement permettant d'éviter les désagréments en attendant les travaux définitifs. Concernant la faune sauvage environnante : Le Moulin bénéficie d'un environnement naturel particulièrement riche et préservé, ce qui ravi la plupart des visiteurs. De nombreuses espèces y prospèrent, elles ne présentent aucun danger et, dans la grande majorité des cas, aucun désagrément. Concernant les aménagements de la cuisine : Ils ont été choisis pour permettre à tous de cuisiner durant son séjour et sont adaptés à cet usage. Nous les renouvelons régulièrement. Le four, ainsi que tous les appareils, sont nettoyés à chaque séjour. Concernant l'insonorisation des espaces intérieurs : Nos voyageurs ne sont en général pas gênés par les installations actuelles. Nous projetons, cependant, des travaux d'isolation prochainement.

De l'ancien insolite très bien équipé

Les + : la qualité de l'accueil, le charme du moulin, la rivière qui coule au milieu de la propriété, le calme, l'équipement du gîte, les chambres vastes et équipées de leur salle d'eau/toilettes, le superbe terrain sans vis à vis, la piscine, la table de ping-pong, le stationnement à l'ombre Les - : la pièce de vie très sombre (il vaut mieux qu'il fasse beau), l'insonorisation entre les chambres et entre les deux étages, les barbecues un peu grands donc gros consommateurs de combustible.

Concernant l'isolation phonique, les travaux ont déjà fait l'objet d'un devis et devrait débuter pendant la basse saison en y incorporant des luminaires avec variateurs permettant d'allier le charme des lumières tamisées sur la pierre, à une lumière plus vive au besoin. Concernant les grillades une réalisation en dure sur mesure a été commandée. La structure aura 2 compartiments un à gaz pour les planchas, l'autre à charbon. Cela permettra de mieux gérer le combustible. Au plaisir de vous recevoir à nouveau.

Charme et nature

Très belle rénovation et superbe jardin. Piscine, barbecue et mobilier de jardin. 5 grandes chambres avec salle de bain, bonne literie. Une belle et agréable pièce de vie.

Magnifique maison avec cachet

Très beau séjour en Charentes maritimes dans une superbe propriété, accueil formidable. Extérieur vraiment très agréable et original, rénovation du moulin extraordinaire. L'intérieur est parfait pour un séjour entre amis, avec salles de bain privatives pour chaque chambre. Les bémols sont peu nombreux : la table extérieure est un peu éloignée de la cuisine imposant une logistique parfaite pour éviter les allers retours durant les repas. Il y a de multiples passages d'eau, charmants au demeurant, mais nécessitant une surveillance accrue des enfants en bas âge.

Un écrin de verdure

Le lieu est beau, magique, reposant et les chambres sont extrêmement confortables et propres. La literie est vraiment très bien, c'est assez rare pour le signaler! De plus, les hôtes sont adorables et discrets. Un vrai moment de bien être grâce à ce jardin féerique qui nous entraîne dans une certaine contemplation et méditation.Nous reviendrons sûrement avec plaisir. 👍

Location pittoresque avec jardin magique

De bon moments en famille en Saintonge. Le jardin et la location à elle seule permettent de passer un bon week-end si les visites alentours ne sont pas envisagées.

Agréable séjour dans cet ancien moulin atypique.Jeunes proprietaires accueillants et sympathiques.

Nous étions 8 adultes et trois enfants en bas âge et tout le monde a bien trouvé sa place. Région alentour pleine de richesses architecturales à découvrir.

Beautiful, old, quirky property

Amazingly beautiful old mill with functioning water wheel in the lounge!! The owners are helpful and friendly. The living area is basic but adequate. The bedrooms are tastefully furnished all with shower/bathrooms. The garden is beautiful and very big with tables, chairs, washing line and bbq. The pool area is fenced off and is equipped with sun loungers and chairs. The route to the garden is interesting as you have to walk across the little bridges over the stream that runs under the house. There are pretty dragonflies, frogs and small lizards in and around the stream. The farm next door sells its own butter, milk and cheese - twice a day you can watch the cows walking along the road past the front of the house to be milked! Although there are no shops in the village of Annepont, the 2 neighbouring villages - Taillebourg and Saint Savinien do have supplies and facilities. The property is not great for anyone with mobility problems as there are a lot of steps and uneven surfaces. Overall though it is a wonderful property and we had a fantastic holiday.
