About this property
Casa Hafiz Bedroom with patio & Kitchenette
Lounge around the salt water infinity pool, enjoy the amazing Bay views, have a masseuse come to your Casa and be served by your own private chef set up by our guest services team. You never need to leave the Villa!
Villa Poema de Amor is visible from anywhere on Sayulita Bay and perfectly located. Perched on the south end of the bay with it's iconic blue domes, directly above Villa Amor, Villa Poema de Amor features beautiful views of the ocean and Sayulita Bay.
Casa Hafiz is a cozy 1 bedroom with King bed, private bathroom with large shower and kitchenette with most everything you need to prepare simple meals. Enter by it's own gate into a private patio with table, chairs and 2 lounging chairs. ( For ocean view, please see Casa Lorca on same floor or Casa Rumi on top floor.) Easy access to salt water infinity pool with gorgeous views of the Bay. Perfect for lounging a whole day or spend the day at the beach.
Sayulita has become mucho popular for its romantic bay views, rustic-chic surfing vibe and its unique Bohemian lifestyle! As a bi-product, there are many new buildings going up across the whole town. (We have an inactive site next to us that has been inactive for over a year and no signs of being finished so our Villa is quieter than most places in town. )
The same gorgeous peaceful views from our salt water infinity pool and deck await you as well as the calm lull of the ocean waves at night.
Town and the beaches are a 15 minute walk on the back dirt and cobblestone roads. We suggest you bring a flashlight when walking at night and we also suggest renting a golf cart. Our guest services team will gladly help you with setting up golf cart rentals which can be delivered to the Villa. Most of our guests find this to be one of the most fun parts of their stay! We can accommodate 4 golf carts in our gated parking area. Taxi's are also available and cost about $5-$7 each way to town from the Villa and most drivers know exactly where the our Villa is located.
This is a fabulous opportunity to stay at one of the most beautiful and iconic Villas in Sayulita. Perched on the hill on the south side of the bay, you can see our majestic blue domes and elegant rounded architecture from anywhere on the Bay!

Very gorgeous views. Very isolated and difficult to get to and from town and waterfront. Getting around certainly required a golf-cart which was more costly than my rented car. Travel out of the village was very difficult and very costly. Difficult to find reasonable and fair options. It cost me $60+ USD to travel 12 miles to obtain a rented car when there was a car rental in town that was impossible to find...on-line or with advice from locals

We were never given, despite multiple requests, a street address for the property. The coordinates did not take us to the property, leaving us a block short. Our cab driver had to spend 30 minutes driving around looking. The property rep was useless in our search.
We were given codes to enter when we finally found the property but they were mislabeled so we could not gain access. We tried every code multiple times and then finally were told that the lock was difficult when wet. Actually, it was inoperative altogether so we had to reach through the gate and use a lock we could barely see.
The description of the property said we have it all to ourselves. It’s a five unit property so we were not alone.
We literally had no view of the bay. A massive new building is being constructed next to this property. The shower stopped working after a few days and we had to use an adjacent into to clean up.
The property is a half mile hike to town which is no big deal since we are mobile but this would have been good to know.
A bad storm literally flooded our unit one night but fortunately we had nothing damaged from being soaked but this could have been a disaster.
All things considered, disaster sums up our feelings about this stay. We fully regret it.
My daughter and I had a perfect time! The villas are works of art! The most beautiful shower in the world. Super convenient location and still far enough off the Main Street that we felt like we had the place to ourselves. Zan and her management team were very kind and super responsive to messages. We felt very well taken care of. Thank you for adding to our Fantastic trip to Mexico!! Can’t wait to go back!!

Thank you, Esther, for your kind words about our love-filled Villa. It was such a pleasure to have you and your daughter stay with us. She's a very special girl and I could have talked with her all day! If you two are ever in Ashland, please call.
Most Sincerely, Zan
My partner and I stayed at this property in January. This is my 7th time coming to Sayulita and this property was one of my favorites. Beautiful building, outstanding pool/outdoor area, incredible views, and great rooms (very clean and well stocked). It was perfect and everything we needed.
Zan was super helpful and responded right away. She was actually in one of the units during our stay and was nice to meet her and see how much she takes pride in her property. Ashley and Ben we also super attentive and helpful during our stay. The unit was cleaned every other day which was great (fresh towels and drinking water, etc.)
The location was ideal, still close to town but quieter at night. The outlook on to the beach was just perfect. You can rent a golf cart and easily drive to town that was or walk out that back through the graveyard on a path. Nighttime walking was a little unnerving but we were provided with flashlights to guide us through. If you have trouble walking (any mobility issues, you should not be walking), afraid of spiders/bugs, or get spooked by graveyards you should opt to take the golf cart. We choose to walk as it only took about 7 minutes to get right into town. Also I'll add the the graveyard is beautiful, the colours and flowers make it a bright place even though it is a graveyard. Los Muertos beach is basically in your backyard and a great option for a quieter and less busy beach where you can swim.
Only real downfall was the construction next door (a hotel is getting built) but as is everywhere in Sayulita. There are new buildings going up everywhere so hard to avoid it. They never started too early and were done by the time we came back from the beach. So I wouldn't let that deter you at all. This is a growing city! And for good reason.
I would definitely come back to here and happily book again (January 2021 is the plan)
Our stay was as magical as it can be when hyped for three months! The only true downside was the hike through a bit of woods and the cemetery to get to town, and of course the construction outside our windows which blocked any hopeful views of the ocean. But the villa was perfect and exactly what we imagined, and we did enjoy the seclusion that the out-of-town feel provided. Thank you so much! We will be coming again!

Thank you, John. I am glad you enjoyed your stay at Villa Poema de Amor. When you return we will be happy to put you in one of our other casas that has beautiful views of the bay. Enjoy your holidays!
Sincerely, Zan
Casa Lorca was a wonderful place to stay. Special thanks to Zan for letting us upgrade. The location is right next to the pool and BBQ. By extending the area, the construction didn't bother us. Great walking distance to town and the Muertos beach through the cemetery!
Very charming and comfortable. Short walk to the beach. The shower pressure was A+. The view from the pool deck was quite lovely to watch the lightening. The last boy draw back was the construction right outside our window. We are early risers so it didn’t bother us too much but had we not been, it would have been an issue. Overall it was a great place to stay. We will go back

About the host
Hosted by Zan Nix
When I am not overlooking the beautiful bay of Sayulita, I live in a small, culturally rich town, Ashland, in Southern Oregon. Home of the Oregon Shakespearean Festival, Ashland offers great theater, a vibrant arts community and lots of good restaurants! I am a realtor and also teach Psychology at Southern Oregon University. I have a passion for poetry and for being on water which are the two inspirations for my designing and building Villa Poema de Amor, Villa Love Poem.
Why they chose this property
What Makes this Villa Unique? Designed by architect, Miquel Valverdez and built by Arturo Fernandez, Villa Poema de Amor is like no other villa in Sayulita. Perched on the south tip of the bay it has beautiful views of the jungle, the ocean, Sayulita Bay, beach and town. The architecture too, is unique. Inspired by my travels to Greece, the blue cupolas can be seen from most anywhere in Sayulita, right above Villa Amor. All the rooms are furnished with custom built and carved furniture and many pieces are curved like the soft rounded walls. Every detail has been thoughtfully designed and artfully made by local artisans, including hand painted sinks, hand carved furniture and mirrors, playful accents in the ceramic floors, unique and custom wrought iron railings and accents and carefully chosen art. The rounded brick cupolas in every room of the top floor, Casa Rumi, are architecturally stunning. This romantic villa was lovingly crafted with attention paid to every detail.
In designing Villa Poema I wanted to reflect the romance of this exquisite location overlooking the sea, naming it Villa Poema de Amor after my two passions…love and poetry. I named each of the individual casas after poets: Tucked below, Casita Zen, was named after the poet that created the Villa, First floor, Casa Hafiz (Persian poet Hafiz) & Casa Lorca (Spanish poet Fredrico Garcia Lorca); second floor, Casa Neruda (Chilean poet, Pablo Neruda); and third floor, Casa Rumi (world’s most revered love poet, Persian poet, Rumi).
I look forward to sharing this very special place with you and hope you will enjoy your memories long after.
What makes this property unique
Why Sayulita I first came to Sayulita in 2003 and fell in love with what was, at the time, a sleepy little fishing and surfing village! While Sayulita has become far more popular and discovered since then, it has always kept me in awe of its natural beauty. I still enjoy walking on the beach and all the wonderful options for yoga in town. For a small town Sayulita also has a lot going on, many activities to enjoy and nearby places to explore.
