Pitt Panthers Parents weekend
The house was all that was advertised and more. We had a group of nine, you know friends that are your chosen family kinda deal. There was three couples, one single, a 21 year old and a 7 year old there was plenty of space for all of us at ALL times. There was Roku TVs in all the bedrooms and family room with live TV options as well. There was plenty of room for us to sit at the dining room table to enjoy meals together and lots of seating options for watching TV or a movie as a group. The kitchen had plenty of seasonings for cooking, cookware, cooking utensils and a good sized pantry to store your future meal prep ingredients. The home has a driveway for parking which is super convenient for Pittsburgh. This home is absolutely beautiful with the deep dark woods throughout, comfy beds and stained glass windows this home has all the character and charm of a beautiful Pittsburgh home. We would absolutely stay in this home again it's very easy to get downtown by the Stadiums, The Strip, The incline lifts, the zoo and the Universities. There is a grocery store, 711, and a package store between 5-10 mins from the home. Andrew was super helpful and responsive very quickly. I would recommend staying at this home if you have a large group and are looking for a fun time in Pittsburgh this home is perfect for memories to be made!!!

Perfect for our 3 family group
We had 3 families - kids between 11-17, everything as described and worked great for us to cook meals and the kids to run in the yard! We had space with the three levels, and the hosts responded within the hour on our requests for more towels and any other needs and questions. We were granted an early check in and out due to our flights. The house was very clean and had beautiful character with a great entry, comfortable living room and kitchen, and we really enjoyed the large yard for the kids and fire pit for evenings. Dual air conditioning for up and downstairs made it very comfortable. Close to city conveniences like grocery, gas, Starbucks, pharmacy.

Classic Pittsburgh home in established neighborhood with east access to the city
Wonderful stay in classic Pittsburgh home. We came in town for family wedding and wanted enough space for our family of five. This home has been upgraded but is best for folks who enjoy the quirks and character of an older home in an established neighborhood. There are four bedrooms on second floor and a primary bedroom on the top. Main bathroom is in the second floor and another on the ground floor (you’ll need to walk down from the top floor bedroom if you use it as your primary like we did). Easy access to downtown Pittsburgh, local neighborhoods and freeways. Fantastic porch for morning coffee. Home has dual zoned AC but unit serving upper floors is a bit loud. While not perfect, we would definitely stay here again next time we return to the Burgh!

Great stay!
We were looking for a place in the Pittsburgh area to meet friends for a long weekend of relaxation & catching-up. Andrew's place did not disappoint. The house allowed us all to have our space while at the same time providing nice common areas to gather for drinks & meals. There was plenty of room for our group of 6 to enjoy sitting on the porch or under the gazebo in the back yard. All amenities are exactly as described in the listing. We definitely enjoyed our stay!

I'm Andrew, and I cannot express to you enough how happy I am to be back in my hometown of Pittsburgh. After growing up in the area's declining steel industry, and moving to New England for about 9 years, I'm finally back to the only city that ever felt like home.

I started Steel River Ventures as a way to embrace the city I love when I moved back home to Pittsburgh in 2017. Now I want to share my homes and my city with our guests! I've been fortunate enough to grow over the years along with Pittsburgh and watch it transform. With every day that passes, I discover something else about this city that I love and would be happy to share that with you.

I am more than happy to be as active a host as you'd like. By default, you as a guest will have your privacy, but I'm always available to meet and share my thoughts on the area with you. Be warned though, I love Pittsburgh and that will come through in our conversations!

My primary income is working in vocational learning technology, but I am a car guy at heart. Whenever my schedule allows, I try to get to local track events at roadcourses, auto-cross or hillclimb venues. I enjoy teaching performance driving, car control and driver safety as well. I also try to read a little (usually non-fiction), visit the gym as often as possible, and spend time with family and friends.

Why they chose this property

Since moving back to the city, I've been learning everything I can about local history and architecture, which is part of the reason I purchased this home. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do, and let me know if you'd like to meet or if there is anything I can do to help make your stay the best it can be.

What makes this property unique

Some of my favorite things about this home are the variety of rooms that all provide unique attributes while being inviting and comfortable. The location is spectacular! Being in between the airport and downtown couldn't be more convenient, although as quiet as a rural neighborhood. The commute into the Golden Triangle through the West End Village avoids rush hour traffic coming to and from Pittsburgh's busy South Hills. I really enjoy the privacy of the spacious master bedroom with its own comfortable living room. The large dining room is centrally located making for a great space to bring everyone together for meals and games on the repurposed glass table.
