Sterling Sands Resort is an exclusive property in the heart of Destin, Florida directly on the Gulf of Mexico. A smaller resort, Sterling Sands offers guests a less crowded beach and shorter waits for the elevator. In addition to beautiful views of white sands and emerald waters the resort property offers a BBQ grill, kid friendly heated swimming pool, hot tub, ATM, and workout center.
This 5th floor 2 bedroom, 2 bath fully furnished unit features a private gulf front balcony with ocean views from the living room and kitchen. King bed in the master and double in 2nd bedroom. This second bedroom is quite small so plan accordingly. Queen sleeper sofa in living room. Unit also has fully equipped kitchen, washer/dryer, linens/towels, hair dryer, iron/board, DVD, 3 TVs, and complimentary internet access. $15/person wristband fee upon check in. Umbrella and chairs available for daily or weekly rental but not included. Please be advised this is a NO SMOKING property. Smoking is only allowed in front of the parking lot in front of the building.

Spring break family vacation

We had a great experience staying at Murray’s condo. Super easy check-in. Location was perfect for us. Pool, hot tub, and beach access. Overall, excellent vacation and would highly recommend others to stay at this property.

Great view and location

We had a great stay! Beach access was easy and quick. The set up in the condo was very comfortable and offered everything we needed. Walmart and Target were well within driving distance (less than 5 miles each direction). Definitely plan on going back in the near future.

Great Condo, Love the Location

This is the second year in a row we have stayed at Sterling Sands. We book our dates for each year very far in advance b/c we love this location. This unit is the smaller option and yet still big enough for our family to enjoy ourselves. Clean and well laid our. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, utensils, and pans. Great stay!

Enjoyed our stay at this property. Like described on VRBO. Maury (host) was very responsive. Beautiful view from balcony. Would stay here again. Heated pool was a plus and hot tub. Be aware there's a lot of road noise though so ear plugs were used.

Amazing!

Beautiful property with gorgeous view of the Gulf and steps away from the beach! Very clean, spacious, tastefully decorated, comfortable. Kitchen has everything you need to cook meals and was very clean. Comfortable beds. Each room has private bathroom. Wonderful area for sitting and enjoying the gulf breezes and sunsets on the balcony. The condo building was very nice and clean. Warm pool and nice workout facility. Convenient access to the beach. Check in process was super easy. Centrally located to everything in Destin! Owner communication was great! Our family had a fantastic stay and would definitely stay here again! One of the best VRBOs we’ve ever stayed in! Thank you!!

Ok Unit

Be aware that the 2nd bedroom will not store any luggage, you will have to use the main one which is small. The unit was decorated beautiful but the comforts of mattresses and couches should be addressed, I like the style but really need comfort when I sleep more.

Everything was great besides the elevators. Constant issues with elevators all week. Our friend got stuck in one for 30min, one of the elevators was always out, etc. Needs to be fixed.

Beachfront

The condo was nice and as described. The owner communicated twice early check in was available. When we inquired about checking in 1 hour early it was not allowed. The condo had excessive road noise late at night the equivalent of downtown Chicago. The condo complex is a NO SMOKING building. They will only allow you to smoke at the bus stop next to the highway. They have security guards that walk the parking lot at night and watch the balconies for smoking. If they catch you, your evicted and lose your payment for the remainder of the trip. If you want to have a beach chair and umbrella you must use the buildings chair service. And tip 30% or you will not be in the front row. They do not allow personal umbrellas. We would not stay there again.

Enjoyable

The unit was not as clean as we expected. The first night we walked bare foot and our feet were black from the dirty floors. The rug in the living room was old/dirty. I hold the cleaning company responsible for the lack of cleanliness. The guest room is much smaller than it appears, you can’t walk around the bed to get in on the other side.

Convenient with easy beach access

Comfortable condo with nice pool and easy beach access. Great view. Just a quick 10 min to boardwalk where most of the charters and dolphin tours leave from.

Great Stay

This place was amazing for just me and my kids. It was our first family vacation since my divorce and it was more than expected. Communication with the property owner was nice and easy. Place was clean and right on the beach and around lots of activities. Would definitely stay here again.

Great Condo

Condo was exceptionally clean upon arrival. View of the gulf is outstanding. Very short walk from pool deck to your beach chairs which was nice. Of note, no personal umbrellas are allowed on this beach. You havr to rent chairs/umbrella from beach service (which we planned to do anyway). Rental was $40.00 per day. Overall great experience and will plan to use this condo again in the future.

Condo was absolutely wonderful! Love the security the property had. Steps from gorgeous emerald water! Beach service is a must also. Loved having the umbrella to just relax under when you didnt want to be in the sun! Overall great vacation. Can wait to come back!

Living room and kitchen were comfortable and clean. TV’s were very clear and picture great quality . However the cable and internet kept going out sometimes for as long as 3 hours at a time. Bathrooms were dated and no grab bars in tubs. Shower drained slowly so ended up standing in ankle deep water. Door nob in 2nd bedroom would not open and was locked so had to go to bathroom to enter and exit room. Maintenance was in the condo checking fire alarms and he couldn’t get in the bedroom either. Said he would be back with a new nob but never came back. Second bedroom was NOT a bedroom. The headboard of double bed hit on one wall and the footboard hit on the opposite wall. No closet in the room and no dresser in the room. Lived out of my suitcase for 2 weeks. Very inconvenient. Venetian blinds did not work and had a terrible time trying to get owner to understand the problem. Finally gave up. Not worth ruining my vacation over. Floors were tile and needed to be really scrubbed. Feet got very dirty if barefoot. Pool and beach were beautiful. Sunset was lovely and proximity to beach was excellent. Balcony was wonderful to sit on and listen to the ocean.
