Our family enjoyed our stay on Ottertail Lake at this cabin. The cabin was exactly as described and was clean. The location was conveniently located next to Zorbaz and a gas station was just down the road if we needed anything. The host was quick to respond to our messages. Thanks for everything!
We had a nice time. We had three different family groups at the house. Having the bunk room and separate area was very nice. It allowed our child to sleep great without being bothered.
The beach and dock were perfect for what we needed. It was nice being able to walk to Zorbaz (especially home).

Nice property but very busy street, 30 mph street but most vehicles do 40+. On the north end of the lake they have the LED read out signs telling you how fast you are going and nobody speeds, this area needs that especially with Zorbaz’s right there
The house was great! Plus, I got to take my 2 dogs. It was the first time for me to take the dogs on a vacation and it was a great house and beach to do that. We also had our daughter and 2 grown children (18 and 22) with us. There was room for all of us and we enjoyed the bunk house and division of the house. So there was plenty of space of the 5 of us plus our 2 dogs.
The beach and lake was great and we took advantage of the kayaks and paddle boats available for free. We also rented the pontoon and that was so much fun! The 14 mile paved bike trail was close and fun to use for both biking and roller blading. We went to local restaurants, got the famous caramel rolls and ice cream cones.
The only draw back is the traffic on the county road in between the house and the beach. By the end of the week we were used it to though. The owners were great and responded to all our questions and also told us all about the local area and things to do.
The barefoot retreat was the perfect space for our family. We got together with our teenager, our adult kids and their spouses and our grandson. There was plenty of space for all of us and room to spread out. The beach and the water are beautiful and we utilized the paddle board, kayaks and paddle boats that are here. The owners were responsive to any questions and we were able to truly relax. We also enjoyed the two restaurants that are within walking distance, the pastry food truck, down the road and the ice cream at Big Fish Kayaks not too far away. We may come back every year!
Great spot! Walking distance to restaurants, the river and a beautiful sandy beach. Cabin is much larger than you would guess from the outside. Overall it was a great experience!
Wonderful Property for a family vacation. Grandpa,Grandma, Sons , Daughters inlaw and 2 youngsters. All had a great week. House is as described, good wifi, fully stocked kitchen, linens, games, beech equipment etc. Super location and great management.
5 stars+
What a fantastic place for a family weekend. The property was in a great location near restaurants, fishing and the lake. There was everything we needed and more, all the small details were included just like it was our own cabin. The owners were very easy to contact and accommodating for all of our needs. We hope to go back!
Our family spent our annual reunion at this site and appreciated both the owners' hospitality and expediency with which he responded when we needed to reach out to them. The site is larger than it seems given the additional living spaces (patios) on the street side and back (more private) side of the home. It's also uniquely close to a variety of things to do! We also appreciated all the "extras" - i.e., kayaks, paddle boards, paddle boat, dock/beach, etc. We enjoyed our stay and would return again ;)
We recently had my bachelorette party at this house and it was the perfect location! It was walking distance to both Zorbaz and the boat landing where we went tubing. Brock was super helpful and answered my questions within hours. The house also great space and extra room to put down some air mattresses & the bunk house had some nice extra room. Would recommend!
there was 8 of us 6 adults and 2 grandkids and we Loved the place we rented. Perfect location with a few places with food/drink to walk and The Corner Store. Very cute area and beautiful view. Brock (the owner) had the place supplied with paper products for kitchen at bath and soaps. he had games and things for the kids which we brought so no need to bring next time. We all were very happy with the house and location as sometimes you don't know what you are getting. We are looking into renting again next year. Highly Recommend this rental
The location was perfect with a nice sandy beach right across the road. We have teenagers so crossing the road wasn't a problem, but this location would be difficult with small children. The cabin is bigger than it seems in the pictures . It was super clean and well stocked with all the necessities. Having two bathrooms was great and the bedrooms are large. The bunkhouse is awesome for added sleeping space and there is plenty of space in the two living rooms for air mattresses if needed. Brock was very responsive to anything we needed. The AC went out and he responded within five minutes of my message and it was fixed within two hours. He goes above and beyond to be accommodating. We will definitely stay here again.

I have grown up on Otter Tail Lake, and wanted to purchase a property and turn it into a rental to allow guests to have a taste of Otter Tail Lake, while feeling at home. My dad and I have made some tremendous updates and added some amenities to the property to allow guests to enjoy a vacation at the lake. We wanted to create a property that we are proud of and would book for our own vacation.
Why they chose this property
This property is unique in the sense it is on the southwest side of the lake where there are two restaurants, a convenience store, and the public access less than a quarter mile away. Typically the southwest side of the lake is the calmest and is excellent for water activities, and outstanding walleye fishing. Catching the sunrise with a cup of coffee is also a great way to start the morning.
