Perched at an altitude of 800 m, in the town of St Etienne de Chomeil, Agatine welcomes you to its cozy nest, combining charm of the past and great comfort today.

Enjoy the exceptional nature of the Pays Gentiane in panoramic format and discover the gastronomic specialties of Cantal ...

The location of Agatine is also particularly privileged for lovers of fishing.
You will find a few km away, the lake of Mount Aries.
This mountain lake with magnificent landscapes will allow you to go fishing in the heart of nature.
But you will also be able to track Lady Fario in the many streams and rivers that are found near the cottage. The Soulou in particular, a river known for its high densities of salmonids, flows a short distance from the accommodation.

Other sports activities are possible nearby; Hiking and horse riding, water sports and nautical base will allow you to take advantage of this unique holiday setting to discover the thousand and one natural riches of the Pays Gentiane.

Peace, quiet and and lots of nature off the beaten path

We are an older couple and stayed for the whole month of October, with glorious weather for the first half, typical Cantal weather for the rest. Despite a big wind storm we never lost power, water, or Wifi. The woodburning stove worked like a charm and kept us cozy. We hiked over 150 miles (240 km), many right from the house, using google satellite to plan, because many old lanes are not marked in the official hiking guides, and fences need to crossed. We left a map at the house on which we marked all our forays. If you like everything country and consolidate your shopping to one weekly trip, this is the place to truly get away and recharge your body and mind.

Le gîte est très agréable , restauré avec beaucoup de goût. On s'y sent vraiment bien ! La vue aux alentours est de toute beauté. C'est un lieu vraiment paisible et très calme qui permet de se détendre et de passer de merveilleuses vacances loin du tumulte quotidien, bercés par les sons subtiles de la nature.L'accueil est remarquable. Gîte vraiment très agréable et confortable ! Une vue absolument imprenable ! On se s'en lasse pas ! Il manque à mon goût peut être des tabourets à hauteur de la table côté jardin pour profiter encore plus de la vue car nous avons eu un temps magnifique et nous préférions être à l'extérieur ! De l'intérieur on peut également profiter de cette vue ! Il y a panier gourmand de bienvenue avec les spécialités de la région ! C'est une délicate attention que nous avons beaucoup apprécié ! La région est vraiment magnifique ! Plein de belles balades à faire ! Vous trouvez toutes les cartes à disposition dans le gîte ! Je recommande pleinement ce gîte !

Wunderschönes Haus in traumhafter Umgebung

Das so liebevoll renovierte alte Steinhaus ist ein Traum und es sieht wirklich alles so aus, wie auf den Fotos. Der Ausblick ist gigantisch und bei Sonnenuntergang einfach atemberaubend. Wir waren zu viert da (2 Erwachsene und 2 Kinder) und haben die Kühle des Hauses, zumindest unten, bei 36 Grad im Schatten sehr genossen. Das Haus steht mit ca. 10 anderen Häusern zusammen auf einer Anhöhe (Ridoux). Der nächste Ort ist 8 Autominuten entfernt, die nächst größere Stadt 20 Autominuten, wo sich leider auch erst der nächste Bäcker befindet, aber darauf kann man sich einstellen. Die Ausstattung mit Waschmaschine, Trockner, Geschirrspüler, Fernseher (den wir nicht brauchten) etc. ist super. Alles gepflegt und sehr sauber. Die Kommunikation mit den Vermietern war unkompliziert, und so auch die Betreuung vor Ort. Für Wandertouren, Ruhe, Entspannung, Genießen und für Ausflüge ist es einfach ein Traum und zu empfehlen!

Le gîte se trouve sur les hauteurs de Saint-Étienne de chomeil, autant dire que la vue est spectaculaire! De plus, il est simplement superbe avec ces vieilles pierres... on a adoré passer une semaine en Auvergne... on reviendra...
