Welcome to Apartment La Ranche – Your Alpine Home from Home



Apartment La Ranche blends modern comfort with classic Alpine charm, perfectly positioned in the heart of Montriond, a picturesque village on the outskirts of Morzine. Renovated to a high standard in 2014, this stylish apartment sits on the first floor of a private family chalet and offers spacious, homely accommodation across three levels – it feels more like a house than an apartment!



Just a short stroll from the centre of Montriond, you’ll find a welcoming gastro-pub, local restaurant, and quaint village shops. Located on the sunny south side of the valley, it’s a peaceful setting that’s still just 5 minutes by car or free bus from the bustling Morzine centre. The bus to the Ardent télécabine – your gateway to the vast Portes du Soleil ski area – stops right at the end of the driveway and runs every 30 minutes during winter.

The open-plan living area is bright, spacious, and perfect for socialising after a day in the mountains. The sleek, fully-equipped kitchen has everything you need to cook up a feast, while the dining area seats eight comfortably around a glossy modern table.



Relax in the generous lounge space, featuring two plush contemporary sofas, underfloor heating for extra cosiness, and entertainment for all – a Smart TV with Netflix, French and some UK channels, a DVD player and film library, a Bluetooth speaker, and a selection of board games and toys for children. The wraparound balcony provides stunning panoramic views – ideal for enjoying an evening drink and sharing stories from the slopes.



A separate entrance hallway offers storage for ski gear and a laundry area with washing machine and tumble dryer.

Good sized, flexible apartment that accommodated 4 of us very well. Had everything we needed plus easy access to Ardent. Jo was quick to respond to all questions. We will hopefully stay again one day.

Great apartment, good location

Very nice and spacious apartment. All the 3 bedrooms have a very nice bathroom. Good located to go to Lindarets or Morzine. Small supermarket at 500 m and Carrefour at 5 minutes drive. Very friendly host. We really liked it.

Really nice location

Very comfortable flat located very close to the cable car for skying (free shuttle stop at 20 meters from the flat. A shuttle almost every 30 minutes for a 15 minutes trip to the cable car). No need to use our car. Joanna was very welcoming.

Fantastic apartment in a great location

Very easy to book and the apartment was exactly as described. If was perfect for us. Not too far from Morzine or Montriond lake. We loved being able to buy bread at the local epicerie too.

Portes du soleil Chalet

Excellent choice for relax ski vacation in Portes du soleil. Ideal location for skiing. 100 meters from bus station (either for Ardent or Morzine). 5 min walk to the shop, bar and restaurant in Montriond. 25 min walk to Morzine. Ideal for families or groups, clean, comfort and well equipped. Very helpful hostess, providing all the necessary info's. Maybe the only cons are mowed and low roofs in the upper bedroom and seating area. Definitely enjoy our stay and highly recommended.

Great location

Great location for skiing in Les Portes du Soleil. Only 6-7 minutes to Ardent, 12 to the Perrieres chair in Les Gets (good parking) en 10 minutes to st. Jean d Aulps (great for skiing between the trees if bad weather...). Comfortable beds, big kitchen and 3 bathrooms makes La Ranche a perfect stay with a couple of friends. And, as always, Jo is a perfect host and everything was well organized again ! Thanks Jo and we look forward to winter 23!

Perfect property for our ski getaway

We had a fantastic 5 days at La Ranche with friends. Spacious, clean, well equipped and only a 3 minute walk to the ski bus stop. Great views, comfortable beds with crisp linen, good showers with plenty of hot water and lovely open plan kitchen/diner/lounge. Quiet location, which suited us, but only a 5 minute walk to bars and restaurants in Montriond. Would definitely recommend. Thank you Jo for being such a helpful and pleasant host.

Wedding in Montriond

The apartment is on the first floor (separate access), and has panoramic views. We were in Montriond for my sons wedding, and the apartment considerably exceeded our expectations, and compared very favourably to other chalets booked by friends around Morzine and Montriond, which despite looking good online were in semi basements! Jo, the owner, was incredibly helpful and went out of her way to help us when our offspring discovered they had booked a chalet with no linen. We enjoyed chatting to the owners family who live on the ground floor, who were friendly but not intrusive. We would certainly rebook if we ever return to the area.

Fantastic apartment for Portes du Soleil ski access - 10/10!!! Highly recommended!!!

I really can't thank Jo enough for making our stay absolutely perfect! Firstly, Jo was so communicative as soon as soon as we had booked, and offered so many useful tips such as where to hire skis, how to book ski lessons, etc. We were a group of 7 people, and the apartment was perfectly spacious. Before we arrived, Jo kindly collected a Carrefour shop for us, so despite our flight being delayed, there was cold wine and beer in the fridge as soon as we arrived. Perfect! The location was 10/10. Montriond is a beautiful little village that is about 8 mins away by bus from the centre of Morzine, or 5-6 mins from the Ardent ski bubble to gain access to the Avoriaz ski area. The apartment was a 5 minute walk to the nearest supermarket, bar, restaurant, and pizza takeaway. Even better still was the ski bus that picked us up from the bottom of the drive to take us to the Ardent ski lift (a journey that took about 5 mins). We hired our skis from a shop near the Ardent lift, so could leave our skis there overnight and hop on the bus back to the apartment in the evenings. (The buses run every 30 mins until 18:00). Everything in the apartment was stunning. There are 3 beautiful ensuite bathrooms, really spacious living room, a washer and dryer (which we needed after one very wet day skiing!), and a huge living/kitchen/dining area. The kitchen had plenty of mugs, plates, bowls, cups, cutlery etc, and was very well equipped to cook for 7 guests (which so many apartments often lack!). The fridge/freezer is huge, so can fit plenty of food and drinks inside. The dishwasher was a bonus, too! Even though there was 7 people all showering at the same time, the showers all stayed very hot and powerful. We were able to login to Netflix on the Smart TV, but there was also several English channels on the TV. Jo also has a bluetooth speaker for listening to music and relaxing in the evenings. We loved the open plan layout of the apartment, as there was so much room for us all to relax and be together whilst we cooked / started to unwind from the day skiing. Overall, the whole check-in and check-out processes were so easy, and the flat was absolutely gorgeous and immaculately tidy. This is by far one of the best apartments I've ever had the pleasure of staying in. It is even nicer in real life than it appears in the photos! Jo, we really can't thank you enough, and we very much look forward to booking again. Thanks for everything!!!!!

Great Experience

The whole process from booking to the meet and greet was excellent. The accommodation exceeded our expectations and the location was spot on, close to the town, plenty of parking, private drive and good views. The apartment was spacious and very clean with all amenities. Each bedroom had its own en-suite. The lounge and kitchen was great for chilling out after a days skiing. Hope to return another year.

Long ski weekend

Lovely apartment in a good location. We hired a car and drove to Ardent every day to start skiing (you can get the ski bus from the end of the drive). Ardent is a great location because it’s in the middle of a huge ski area so you’ve got lots of options to vary your days. Montriond has a great bar (showing UK sports on the tv) a great restaurant and a small shop - all within a 5 minute walk from the apartment . What more could a ski group want. Jo was really helpful and on hand if needed and the apartment was spacious and worked well for our party of 5 adults.

Ideal family holiday home with lovely views

The apartment has everything needed and is well located in a quiet area within walking distance to a local shop/restaurant. Great to have three bathrooms with our teenage children. Lovely views from all around the apartment of surrounding mountains. Montriond lake is beautiful and a great place for swimming and water activities. We managed to see the incredible free fireworks on the lake while there. A great base for travelling around the area which has so much to do for teenagers. Would highly recommended the multi pass which was €2 per day per person and gave free access to cable cars, chairlifts the swimming pool at Morzine (which was beautifully kept) ice skating and more! The only slight negative is a small TV but only really needed on rainy days! Would highly recommend this apartment if planning a holiday in the area.

It is run by Jo Miller, who has lived in the area for 20 years, and assisted by her partner, Hervé Gaillard, who was born and bred in the area. Between them they have a wealth of local knowledge & an enthusiasm for the area.

Jo will meet you at the chalet on your arrival, and will be on hand to assist you for the duration of your stay. All our properties are independently owned and have been selected by us based on our experience of what guests look for in a holiday home.

Our aim is to make your holiday as hassle free as possible, starting with the booking process right down to helping you organise any extra services through our network of professionals, such as ski lessons , ski hire and ski passes . You can even opt for a fully catered package if you want the flexibility of a self catered holiday but don’t want to cook every night.
