Because of the unique location, you may not need rental cars which can save you over $1000! There is only one bus that runs through Manuel Antonio and it goes up and down the main road. The bus stop is 10 meters to the right. Bus is approximately 60 cents per person. Taxis are readily available and are couple dollars. Most everything is close 15-20 minute if you’re into some exercise!

Fabulous vacation and proerty

Beautiful home with incredible views! So many activities to enjoy. Animals everywhere! Maria was amazing setting everything up and followed through on everything. We hired a chef, Paige, who was amazing….creative delicious food and it made the week a real vacation for me . We traveled with our adult children and grandchildren 15 total and everyone enjoyed the trip immensely

Making Memories in Costa RIca

Casa Tolteca was beautiful! We had 12 people (6 adults and 6 kids) and the rooms were perfect for 3 families. The view was spectacular and the monkeys and nature around us was fun and calming. Perfect location! The table was large and family friendly. The chef option was a fun experience. The staff was respectful and caring. It was a trip of a lifetime for our family. Thank you

Amazing space and staff in tropical paradise

Our group of 10 had so much space at Casa Tolteca. We loved the big round table where all 10 of us enjoyed some excellent communal meals prepared by Chef Page. Maria helped us get cabs and anything else we needed. Our favorite outing recommended was the zip lining experience. The cabs were not expensive and how we found it best to get around although a bus was close by. We loved having a grocery store and some great restaurants so close. The cleaning staff showed up every day but Sunday so all the areas were kept tidy and clean. The pool, lighted at night, was a huge hit with the kids and another good gathering place for our group. We would highly recommend Casa Tolteca to any group wanting to visit this area of Costa Rica. Casa Tolteca and Costa Rica are both tropical paradises!

The perfect place to stay in Manuel Antonio!

There aren't many words that can describe how amazing this place was to stay. From the views, to the property, to the outstanding service from everyone working there we had an unforgettable trip. We woke up every morning drinking coffee to monkeys running around! Maria was amazing and helped book all of our activities before and during the trip. It was not difficult to get a hold of her for a last minute grocery order or taxi anything we needed really and all of the guides were top notch. If you are reading this and on the fence about booking don't think and just do it immediately 100% worth the price!

A great place to stay for large groups!

As there were 11 of us vacationing, ranging in ages from 14 to 70, it was a fantastic choice (I'm sure it would be a great choice for only 2). The staff are great, and the service we received was fantastic. The tour groups Casa Tolteca uses are really friendly. We went jet skiing, a boat/kayak tour through the mangroves and white water rafting. We also had the chef service twice for dinner. That's a great deal for a large group. And the food was fantastic! There are also some fine restaurants just outside the door of the villa. It was a great place to stay at a great price! I have recommended it to all my friends and co-workers!

Breathtaking

Our stay in Manuel Antonio was an experience of a lifetime. The house was absolutely perfect for our adult family. The bedrooms and different living floors was perfect for privacy. There is so much to do in Manuel Antonio and we cannot wait to go back! From the beach, to the National Park, to the excursions (highly recommend the ATV tour), to the restaurants and shops -- it was all amazing! Our daily visit from the monkeys was fun (they're so cute). Maria and the chefs took great care of us and I highly recommend using Marisol to cook your meals. The meals she prepared for us at the house were far better than any restaurant. We felt safe, supported and fully taken care of by Maria. This house is definitely one to rent; we kept asking ourselves, is this even real??

Wonderful Week!

We had a wonderful week at the house and really enjoyed Costa Rica!! We loved the house, and would absolutely stay there again. The view is spectacular, as is the layout of the house. We had 10 people there, and there was plenty of space for us all to gather and to spread out and get out of each others way! The outside space was also amazing, with plenty of seating and that true jungle feel! We had the pleasure of 2 monkey troops visiting us one day, which was so much fun. We also saw the sloth a couple of days. We didn’t have any issues with anything in the house. It was really great! We loved the park, and the beach right outside of the park (the further you walk down the beach back towards the house, the better!). We found a nice, shady spot under some trees and had a great day at the beach! We also walked to Playa Biesanz. Took a cab on the way home – what hills! We loved the beach there though, and saw monkeys on our walk down to the beach. Our group decided to try out the local restaurants versus having the chefs come in. We really enjoyed these restaurants: Café Milagro for breakfast. Aqua Azul – closed on Wednesdays, very hard to get in to…go early if you are planning to eat dinner (no later than 5:30!). Salsipuedes – tapas plus regular food.

Costa Rica and Miguel Antonio specifically is made for active family vacations. In addition to the National Park there are multiple optional excursions as well as a beautiful beach to enjoy. Our extended family of 15 Stayed at Casa Tolteca for 7 days in August. It was a great stay and would recommend it strongly to larger groups with multiple family units. For us it was 2 parents and three families of 5, 4 & 4. (Kids Ages 11-16) This unit had 4 separate dwelling spaces within a house and Casetta. Each had a small fridge and ability to relax away from the group. The top floor had a large bar and dining table that accommodated all 15 of us for a communal meal. For a large property it was well maintained and in great working condition. Every morning groups of us would leave for various activities and come back in the afternoon to relax by the pool. The nice facility was augmented by great service by the concierge Maria. She was always available for questions and facilitated a number of tours and activities. She enhanced a great experience. The last comment I would make is that groups should consider using the resident chef services. Our chef, Gabriel prepared 4 dinner meals that were all different and tasty, while accommodating multiple dining individual requirements. This week every year is my opportunity to be with my entire family and Casa Tolteca and crew made it a memorable experience. Costa Rica and this property are a great combination.

Perfect Family Vacation

Casa Tolteca is absolutely beautiful and the accommodations were perfect for our family of 11. 10/10 coming back to Casa Tolteca!!

4 couples and my 2 adult(ish) children, so much room to relax as a group or alone. House completely lives up to the photos and descriptions. Maria our concierge was fantastic - get the Chef!!! Paige is amazing - her menu was awesome. We did breakfast and Dinner each day, more than enough food and it was so great to not have to worry about anything. Book this place with no regrets - location is perfect - staff is amazing.

Beautiful property!

My family of 9 enjoyed a wonderful week here! There was plenty of space for everyone to have their privacy, and also great space for all of us to convene together. The property manager is terrific! She was responsive, efficient, and so nice! The landscaper and the housekeeper are delightful. We were visited daily by monkeys, iguanas, toucans, and even a sloth on one of the days. The location is great. We were able to walk to restaurants and shops. The pool is beautiful, and a nice respite after touring on hot days. The grounds are magnificent, and very well maintained. The kitchen was well stocked.We were a bit disappointed with the private chef that we had for two nights, but I think that was because the chef the property manager usually suggests was unavailable.The bathrooms are a little tired and could use some updating, but other than that, it’s a wonderful place to stay! No one wanted to leave that beautiful place! We would absolutely stay there again.

Beyond My Expectations

This property was beautiful and accommodated our entire family of 16. Plenty of room to move around and to dine together. The pool was the kids dream come true, and well, the adults too! Highly recommend.

Fantastic!

We had a wonderful stay! Maria was amazing and was able to give advice on excursions and book them all for us. She arranged our transportation and flights back to San Jose. It was all so easy with her help! Chef Paige cooked us a few breakfasts and dinners and they were amazing! She was very accommodating to our excursion schedules. The property was beautifully kept! We had a wonderful experience! Location was great, we didn’t need to rent a car! Thank you for helping make our Costa Rica vacation PERFECT!!

Great Family Experience

Wonderful Family Gathering

Our stay at Casa Tolteca was wonderful. The home looks just like the pictures. View was beautiful and pool was lovely. Kids were in it constantly. Our concierge, Maria, was absolutely the best. I communicated with her many times before our trip and she was so helpful. She booked our tours for us, arranged transportation and restaurant reservations. She even helped us through a medical crisis and language barrier late at night. We had a chef come in one evening and the food was amazing. We loved our time in Costa Rica and were glad we chose Casa Tolteca to stay at. Must also compliment our housekeeper, Erika and the groundskeeper, Mauricio. They, too, did an excellent job.

Family Vacation

We had an amazing time!! The house was perfect!! We had a large family of 16. Loved that there actually was 3 kitchens so each family could make coffee in the morning, snacks, or a meal if they wanted to. We hired a private chef and she was amazing!! Highly recommended using her!! Her food was out of this world! Maria the concierge made everything from checking in/out, excursions, and any other questions we had effortless! Erica the cleaning lady cleaned after us every day and even did laundry!! Maintenance man cleaned the pool and the hosed off every morning!! We could not have asked for a better experience!! Thank you😘

Nicest place with the best service I’ve ever had

Had a family of 10 of us, and we all enjoyed our stay. The chef was very good and it was fun having her cook all of our fresh fish we caught. Also, there was a great restaurant within a five minute walk. That had a great atmosphere and great pizza. I’m looking forward to going back hopefully next year. The ride from the airport was a nice ride and all of the drivers were very nice and spoke good enough English that there was no problem communicating with anyone us from the airport or around town.

PARIDISE

We fell in love with Costa Rica for the first time in 2020 while vacationing in the Guanacaste province. This time around, we wanted to experience Manuel Antonio and THIS property sealed the deal for us! The grounds were STUNNING, with the house nestled in a hillside amongst beautiful flowers, trees and a gorgeous view of the ocean. We got to see lots of wildlife every day, including lizards, sloths, monkeys, and colorful birds. Our group of ten was able to divide up perfectly for sleeping but also fit comfortably in the main areas when we were all together. Maria was quick to respond to any requests for booking activities. She even went as far as to help us retrieve a bag one of the kids left on an excursion. When MA was booked solid, Maria was able to get us in and had us paired with a WONDERFUL guide (which was a must). Erica, the cleaning staff, visited daily and left the place spotless for us which was no small task. Mauricio, the grounds keeper, even showed us how to crack open coconuts, and left us the tools to do it ourselves! There were many wonderful restaurants, shops, and grocery stores within walking distance, and even more just a short drive away. Our crew enjoyed playing in the waves, so we fell in love with Playa Espadilla, which was also within walking distance or a quick drive from the house. If you choose Casa Tolteca for your stay, you won’t regret it! We hope to be back again someday soon…PURA VIDA!!

Great Home in a great location

Unbeatable view and wildlife as close as it can get. Although it is an older home it is very well maintained and managed. We were 10 but it will handle 18 without being cramped. Do not pay the many official looking parking attendants at the beach and at Manuel Antonio Park - or at least negotiate them down. Go to the Official Parking for the park. It is closer to the park and free

Excellent Stay!!

We had six couples that stayed for an amazing nine nights. The space was perfect for all of us to have our privacy, but it also had great gathering spots. We absolutely loved the pool and gardens. We had visits from lots of monkeys, a toucan, and even an anteater. Maria was wonderful with communication and helping us plan all of our excursions and answered any questions that we had. Erika and Mauricio did a great job at keeping everything so clean and in working order. Chef Paige provided us with some delicious dinners. The location was walking distance to restaurants, shopping and a small grocery store. The local bus worked great and was very reasonable get around. I only wish that the beach was a little closer to walk to. I would definitely recommend this VRBO and would love to stay here again.

We are Canadians who love to travel and fell in love with Costa Rica. Specifically Manuel Antonio. It is the only place that I have seen that you are almost guaranteed to see Monkeys, Sloth, Parrots, toucans and tons more!

Why they chose this property

Privacy and Location!!! Casa Tolteca is the perfect location. Almost all homes in Manuel Antonio are on hillside and are not easily accessible. This property is in the heart of everything. Walking distance to everything including the beach.

It is the perfect set up for large groups as it allows wonderful meeting areas but has 4 separate units allowing all guests the availability for privacy to get a break from the group. You can get up in morning make a pot of coffee and enjoy the ocean view from your private unit without waking up the entire house.

It is uniquely awesome! Hence all the 5 star reviews!

The home has incredible private areas to sit and watch the birds and ocean. It is a gardeners dream. We have planted so many fruit trees and local herbs. All labelled in English and Spanish for those of us that don't know what we are looking at. There is a covered yoga/reading deck to avoid the sun when needed and private porches on each unit so you always have a place to get some quiet. There are many gathering areas for when you want to be social. Each room has its own air conditioning so you can cool off when needed. Private bathrooms and showers so you're not sharing. It is surrounded by jungle with complete privacy and tons of wild life yet still in the middle of it all. There just is no comparable property in Manuel Antonio.
