Unit 202 Brass Rail is one of 6 units that Ocean Watch Tybee offers at The Brass Rail which is Tybee's luxury gated complex. Unit 202 offers ocean views from the 450 square foot balcony. With ocean views, two pools, spacious accommodations only step from the ocean, unit 202 Brass Rail has it all! There are 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath in this second floor units with an elevate elevator just steps away from your underground parking places. You will be just 50 yards from the sand on the South End of the island and just steps away from attractions such as the Pier and the Strand with it's shopping and restaurants. Enjoy view of the ocean from the spacious covered balcony.- 450 square feet over private space with tables & chairs, and a gas grill.
The fully equipped kitchen features stainless steel appliances and granite counter tops and has plenty of room for lots of cooks-the a bar area seats 3 and is open to the living area. The dining table seats 6. Gorgeous living room has a sofa and and a sleeper sofa on beautiful bamboo floors. The entertainment center had a large TV and DVD. There WIFi access through out the unit.
The king size luxury bed in the master bedroom and en suite bath and patio access. The spacious master bath contains both a shower and tub, his and her vanities, and tons of closet space.
The second bedroom contains a luxury queen mattress and its own TV. The KID'S RETREAT is the third bedroom which contains two double beds plus a TV and dvd. Plenty of room for fun!

The we also own the adjacent unit # 201 Brass Rail. also on this landing, which sleeps in 8 beds. Together, units 201 and 202 Brass Rail are are great for large groups, family reunions, etc. The two units together will sleep 16 in bed and the front doors are only steps apart in the covered elevator landing. You and your family will enjoy the laid-back atmosphere on Tybee with biking and shopping near by and Historical Savannah only 20 minutes away.

Quick get away

This condo was super nice and had everything we wanted and needed. We walked everywhere we went. We love the close access to the beach and pier. Being so close to eateries was very convenient. The bed was also so comfy. I loved the leather sofas! We can’t wait to come back again.

Good stay

The place was spacious and clean. Short distance from beach. Pools were ice cold. Hot tub was cold- tried to reach maintenance, however none of the numbers (even Homeowners Association) would not answer for assistance. However, when we put a couple towels on the balcony to air out, they quickly found us to friendly remind us not to do that. Funny how that works. Overall good experience.

disappointing

The reason for our disappointing experience is because the main tv did not work, we had 1 dish towel, the dishwasher sop box does not open, the size of the coffee cups were pitiful, the house was not to our standards of clean, and there were no extra blankets, or pillows!!! When you pay as much for a condo as we did we expected it to be well furnished. We have stayed in Florida condos and they are super and have everything you could need for a beach vacation. Also on the website it said check in would be at 4pm it was after 5 before we were allowed to check in. Basically lost most of the day. I would not recommend this place.

Love Tybee

We absolutely love Brass Rail Villas—the location, room layouts, proximity to the beach, and pools would be hard to beat in my opinion. The room layout works perfect for our family. We had 2 families of 2 adults and 2 children for a total of 8 people. Property owners were very easy to work with and worked to correct any issues we had. The owner was receptive to providing us anything we needed for the kitchen providing us with extra spoons and towels during our stay. The unit could use a deep cleaning and some minor repairs but these issues would not keep me from staying with them again in the future. The beach is a little crowded in this area but we don’t mind the crowd. If you prefer less crowd, I would recommend north on the island or possibly farther south.

Just ok

We returned last week from our stay on Tybee and the whole experience was a bit underwhelming. The photos of the condo are not accurate. The condo which we stayed in (202 Brass Rail) is tired and worn. The appliances need fixing, linens replaced and a thorough cleaning. The jacuzzi in the master had a crack and was unusable, the propane tank on the balcony was not useable and the master toilet has a leak that keeps it running continuously. The listing should also be updated as we were not allowed to check in until 5:00pm due to “cleaning” and had to leave by 10:00am for the same reason, which conflicts with the listing that there is a minimum of 1 day between visitors. The location was nice and walkable to many restaurants and shops. Do make reservations as many places are understaffed and cannot handle the increasing demands of tourists, especially on a holiday weekend. The check in was easy with keyless entry and we found the building to be very secure. Upon entering the unit my 11 year old found a magazine of bullets in the nightstand. I immediately notified the property manager but the bullets were never picked up (as promised) and the incident was brushed off. In fact, it was discovered in our conversation that two people had left firearms in the unit over the last 3 weeks upon checking out. Makes you wonder about their cleaning practices if something like this went unnoticed. We did enjoy easy access to the beach but the pier was closed to music and drinks as other reviews had previously mentioned. The pool was much smaller than anticipated and usually quite crowded but nice overall with a shaded area a s plenty of seating. Our time spent on Tybee was enjoyable due to the company, not the accommodations, unfortunately. Should we decide to visit Tybee again, we would look for other place to stay.

Perfect location

This condo is the perfect location in Tybee. It is minutes from the pier which offers music, frozen beverages and ice cream. There is a strip with local restaurants, wet willies, ice cream, oyster bars and shopping a street over from the condo. The beach is easily accessible. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony people watching however at night the area is very quiet. As far the local restaurants, there was a bit of a wait but that could have been due to spring break. We went on a great dolphin tour with Captain Derek, we went into Savannah (about a 25 minute drive) for a riverboat tour, there is a restaurant called the original crab shack which allows you to feed gators however we did not make it there. There are many things to do in Tybee with mostly all being within walking distance from this spacious condo. I would advise you to stop by a drugstore if need be before you hit the island, as there is only a grocery store and a convenient store for those types of items. And please pay attention to the speed limit. I was sight seeing and got caught speeding by the local police. Luckily she let me off with a warning!! Overall a wonderful time and we would definitely return!

Unit was just as listed. - Clean and well maintained. Living area was roomy and porch is large. Only drawback was we thought we were getting a full ocean view but it’s a side view and pictures were somewhat misleading. There is another building between this one and the beach. Communication was great with owner and rental company. Also unit was very convenient to restaurants .

The condo was wonderful. We loved the space and the cleanliness. The managers were very accommodating and easy to work with. Would definitely stay here again. If I had to come up with one complaint, it would be that some of the mattresses need to be updated.

Our family of three sisters and one brother discovered Tybee in 2003 and fell in love with the island. We bought our property within three hours of ever setting foot on the island! It was love at first sight.

Why they chose this property

We own this unit and the one next to it so together they are perfect for a large group or family reunion. (There are 15 of us plus assorted friends and pet.) With that many people in our own group, we furnished the units to comfortably accommodate large groups. Two of the sisters are designers, so we are always adding and upgrading- you never know what additions you will find on the next trip.
