Waterfront Beach House! Secluded Retreat on the Bay.

Vacation in peace and quiet on a beach so empty it's as if it were your own. If you love nature and the feel of being away from it all, Broadkill Beach is the right place for you. Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge runs all along the small unincorporated community of Broadkill. However, if you need them, a grocery store, several restaurants, Dogfish Head Brewery (free tours and tastings), the Milton Library (there's a park behind it, right on the Broadkill River, with new playground equipment) and the restored 105+-year-old Milton Theater (featuring live theater, musical and comedy acts and movies), Puttin' on the Ritz beauty salon, and McDonald's, are all located in the quaint historic town of Milton and only a 15 minute drive away. Within 20 to 30 minutes (not including traffic, which can be rough in summer - which is why we like Milton!) there are plenty more restaurants, outlet shopping, a movie theater, Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk with rides for kids of all ages, arcades, fries, candy, popcorn, and a vibrant night life, Lewes Beach, and Cape Henlopen State park. Our two bedroom, one and a half bath home is recently remodeled and upgraded. It is directly bayfront, just steps down the wooden path (so you don't get those sand burrs in your feet) and over the dune to the beach! Cute, cozy bungalow with all the comforts of home and necessary appliances, too. Two bedrooms - one queen bed and one twin bunk bed. There is also a queen air mattress for extra sleeping space, since we no longer have a sleeper sofa. Features a large wraparound deck and a ground level outdoor shower. No need to bring your own towels (bath or beach), sheets, blankets or pillowcases - we supply those! There are binoculars and a telescope for watching dolphins, planets, birds, ships on the bay and more. The house is on pilings, so main living area is up one flight of stairs. Part of the lower level has been enclosed and finished and includes two rooms, accessible from the outside, one with laundry facilities and a half bath, the other is currently used for storage of many of the fun extras like beach chairs, sand toys, fishing poles, etc. Easy check in, no worries here. Host is available 24/7 by email or cell phone, although we would prefer you reserve the 2 AM phone calls for emergencies only, please : ) Let us know before you arrive if you have any special requests and we will do our best to accommodate.

this was our 2nd time here. we really enjoyed the beach which we had all to ourselves. beautiful view of the water from the deck. House was very clean from the minute you walked in the front door. Owners are very responsive to replying to text messages quickly. Price is very reasonable for the location. we will defiantly be back every summer. Thank you Linda for another great stay !

This house is one of the best houses we have rented. Very clean and well organized. The kitchen has everything you need (and more!) to make your meals. Truly was just a short walk to the beach. We got there on a Wednesday and literally had the beach to ourselves for as far as we could see. By the weekend, there were more people but no way near crowded. The neighborhood is very quiet. Linda, the host, was just a text away and responded promptly. She also left us a gift (much appreciated) as we were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary. Can only say positive things about this property and we hope to return next year.

We had a wonderful four day vacation on Broadkill Beach. The host was communicative and very helpful and the property was exactly as listed. We had the bonus of a deer and a fox on the property. I don’t know about the rest of the year, but we traveled from June 1 to June 5 and the neighborhood was very quiet and peaceful.

Linda and her husband were wonderful, and incredibly helpful. I couldn’t be happier with their level of customer service. Their home is perfect. Watching the sunrise on the back deck was beautiful and serene. The beds were comfortable, shower pressure and temp were perfect, and the kitchen was fantastic. I was in a juice cleanse and was able to do what I needed to - lots of counter space and a huge sink. We had a great day at the beach behind the house, and the downstairs rooms had everything we needed - chairs, towels, boogie boards - to enjoy the day. The little Broadkill Beach store down the street was adorable - they had fresh donuts in the morning, Hershey’s hand dipped ice cream, and all the little things we might need without having to go into town. Bonus - Instacart delivered groceries to the house without any issues, which left more time for enjoying our trip. I highly recommend these property owners and their home, and hope to go back.

The house is perfectly situated a short walk from the beach. It's a compact space that suits two or three people very well. The hosts have it very well provisioned and equipped.Broadkill Beach is excellent from the point of being not only beautiful but quiet, with relatively few people on it at any given time. (The beach's only drawback this time around were a few too many jellyfish offshore, though that didn't stop me from going into the water. ) There's none of the crowding one would find at Reboboth or Ocean City, though one can brave the Rt 1 traffic to drive to one of the more entertainment-centered areas. An extra that I'll explore further on a future visit is the nearby Prime Hook Nature Preserve, which has excellent nature trails. This was our second visit to the house; it is likely to be our go-to for future visits to the Delaware shore.

Perfect. Our family of four (4 and 6 year old kids) had an amazing time. The beach was empty; the ghost crabs were entertaining; the house is stocked with chairs, sand toys, complimentary beverages, even a little goodie bag for the kids; and you step outside on the back deck and can hear and see the water from your morning coffee. The small beach store is a quick drive or bike ride away. We had their Italian hoagie, ice cream, and weekend donuts. Everything was delicious. We had good luck with the bugs on the beach, only appeared one day and although we were prepared with bug spray and thermocells, we should've packed cortizone for the bites.We would definitely come here again! Thank you for a wonderful stay.

We love coming here!

We moved our growing family to Delaware from North Jersey around 30 years ago to get away from the "Rat Race". We bought 11 acres in Milton and built a house and raised our kids in this quiet country setting. Sussex County, however, has grown and gotten busier and louder. So we bought a house in Broadkill for even more solitude. We love "Slower, Lower" Delaware, and in our future retirement, hope to enjoy our second home in an even slower paced life. We believe that being at the beach, especially one as quiet and uncrowded as Broadkill Beach, does the soul good. While we are still busy running our business and trying to become empty nesters, we want to share our beach home with vacationers and be great hosts to our renters.
