The main house sleeps 4-6 people (air mattress upon request). The Casita is rented for an additional cost (sleeps 2). Great accommodations for larger families. Super awesome house- saw tons of birds, including scarlet macaws. Rooms were big and air conditioning worked perfectly to cool things down. Came with lots of nice extras like beach towels to make our whole trip easier! The pool was a group favorite and we spent every morning and evening outside on the patio.

There were 4 of us and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Can’t say enough about the house,beautiful yard and pool. The house is very modern clean and well equipped with everything you might need. Bird watchers paradise

My little family stayed in this gem for 3 weeks this past July, and it was fantastic. The grounds are gorgeous, the pool refreshing, and the house extremely spacious. The property manager, Kenny, was very attentive to all of our questions and needs, and his crew kept the pool and garden well tended throughout our stay. The house is located in a nice neighborhood, and has a little supermarket a short drive away as well as several restaurants. There is a ton of wildlife, particularly tons of birds that frequent the property. A bird watchers paradise, for sure!

great for family or couples

Very nice property with large lot. Room to spread out with additional small house with private bathroom and shower. Pool was amazing with outdoor shower and a lot of space to hang chill outside. Very quit and peaceful property. Only complaint is how hot the kitchen and living area get. Our family had to either use the pool to cool down or hang out in a back bedroom that had AC. Also the lighting in the main room is poor. If AC were added to the main living area and lighting was improved I would give this a 10/10. would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful home, lovely scenery, great host!

After having stayed in a home without air conditioning earlier last month, Smber’shome was a welcome respite. Cool bedrooms for comfortable sleeping, huge, fully equipped kitchen, two incredible outdoor seating areas, birds and vegetation that was grand, etc. The pool was wonderful and Kenny, our host, went above and beyond in order to supply us with necessary things. Because we are Senior Citizens, he even had a handrail installed for ease in getting down the steps and into the pool! In our 14 visits to Costa Rica, many of these safety features are not available. Thank you Amber and Kenny for making our vacay superb!

Beautiful property

The house and grounds were very nice. We thought the beds were awesome. Most of our time at the house was spent under the pavilion and in the pool. All the areas were supplied well with dishes, utensils and glassware. The property manager communicated well with us and was prompt. We did lose water one night and we notified him and he took care of it promptly. The bedrooms are the only areas that are air conditioned so the kitchen area and living room were too warm to spend a whole lot of time in. However, most of our time was spent outside by the pool, visiting the beaches, going to waterfalls, or out to eat rather than indoors. The house was convenient to get groceries, travel to the beach, visit restaurants, etc.

Excellent property for a relaxing stay.

The main house was comfortable for 4 people (we did not rent the casita). The kitchen was well stocked and all appliances and electronics worked well. The beds and bedrooms (with AC) were comfartable too and made for a good night sleep. And it was nice to be able to park our rented car the garage. However, the true beauty of this rental is in the back yard amenities. The large sitting area off the house, then the pool, then the gazebo and outdoor kitchen where we spent soooooo much time relaxing, listening to music, playing games, sunning by the pool, listening for and watching many different bird species too. The property is short walk to a few very good restaurants, 5 minute drive from decent grocery stores, and about a 10 minute drive from the ocean at Playa Tortuga and other beach’s are also nearby. Kenny, the property mgr. was a greatguy to talk too, was very knowledgeable of the area and had some great suggestions for restaurants and places to get fresh fish. He wa easy to contact and replied promptly to any questions/needs that we had. Our group loved this place and were. sad to leave. Hopefully we can make it back in the not too distant future. A1 experience!

Nice and convenient

Nice location and close to just about everything one would need. Walk to the Gatos Loco restaurant or the bakery next door. Yard and pool are fantastic. Indoor might be a little dated but perfectly fine and clean. WIFI worked fine. Well stocked kitchen. There is a lot of construction going on in the area, and we had a lot of noise a couple of mornings at 7:00am next door lasting all morning. Otherwise very quiet. When you book any home in the area ask if there is a construction project going on next door. The owner may be totally unaware so certainly not their fault. Bedrooms had AC, and it would be nice if the whole house had AC because it was very hot when we were there in March. Good thing there were ceiling fans and a pool. Would book here again.

A dream comes true

A property that lives up to and exceeds every feature, comfort and amenity. We will be back at first opportunity. While situated up the hill from the main coast road, it remains in walking distance to restaurants, grocery stores, even a lovely waterfall. The birds wake us every morning, the howlers do their thing whenever they want, and we did too. From midnight swims in the large pool between the house and the rancho, to work from home on the delightful patio in the dark at a cool 4:00 am with no bug bites (a little Off is handy for about a half hour at dawn and again at sunset), to local beaches, we had all the free time and activity we wanted and spent most of it enjoying this beautiful home and our stay. The owners are delightful and Kenny the house manager an instant "buddy" we could count on for anything. I wouldn't change a thing in the furnishings, and everything worked, including the boogie boards. We met two of the neighbors and they too were gracious and great sources of local information. The wifi at the house and throughout the property is backed up with a power supply that saw me through quite a few momentary power outages without blinking. This place is a keeper. We'll be back.

2 week stay in Ojochal

My wife and I, alongside our travel companions ( 3 kids and 4 adults) stayed in this wonderful villa for two weeks. From the outset, the communication with Amber the owner was excellent. We had a change of plans prior to our travel dates, as one of the couples decided to bring their two children along and Amber was very helpful in helping us accommodate them as well. The house was laid out very well with all the necessary items and the house was clean and welcoming. The outdoor area, (pool/rancho) by far the best part of the house, was large enough to facilitate a large gathering and provided more than enough room for the adults and the kids to coexist outdoors. We had visits from toucans as well as scarlett macaws, a few cattle at the fence line of a nearby farm and the sounds of howler monkeys replacing the need for alarm clocks in the morning. My wife and I stayed in the onsite cabina, at the back of the property. It is a simple studio with a kitchenette and bathroom but very suitable for a couple wanting some privacy away from the main home. The local manager Kenny was always available to answer any questions and was a pleasure to deal with. The house was walking distance to the bakery ( La Panaderia Frances) as well as Los Gatos Locos ( nice bar/restaraunt with an extensive menu and live music). The grocery store ( Super Juculoa) was only about a 5 minute drive form the rental. Overall, this house was perfect for our large group and offered everything we were looking for. Highly recommend it to those with a larger group, looking for a luxurious outdoor space and a clean, well stocked home capable of pleasing the masses. it is a wonderful home base from which to travel up and down the pacific coast to a variety of wonderful beaches and beach towns. It was a wonderful reprieve from the concrete jungle, to the real jungle on the pacific coast of Costa Rica. Enjoyed thoroughly by all! Gracias a Amber and Kenny. Hasta pronto. Absolutely Perfect for our Family!

We stayed here for our first trip to Costa Rica! Absolutely no regrets! We are a family who does not enjoy overly crowded or overly commercialized All-Inclusive resorts. Who wants to share the pristine beaches of Costa Rica with dozens of your not-closests acquaintances? Not us. We wanted to stay in an area that had activities within a relatively short drive. This house fits the bill ! Jungle Horse back riding in Uvita, hike up the pristine mountains in the area. Waterfalls in the area! Zipline. Restuarants, Beaches. Scaret Macaws, Toucans every day! This house's location provided it all. Kenny the property manager was very gracious and quickly responded to any and all inquiries and comments! We have already recommended the home to others! God willing, we will be back!

Feels, Looks and Smells Like Paradise

This is one of the most beautiful properties we've stayed at. The house is in the town of Ojochal and handy to everything. We're big walkers - we had lots of choice every morning. We walked on level ground in the town and we hiked up into the rain forest several times a week. The house is super comfortable with AC in the bedrooms (very required). The common area is big, spacious and comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed (most houses are missing a few things - not this one). The crown jewel of this property is the outdoor living space. It has a well maintained pool, a lovely rancho and the most beautiful garden and landscaping we have found in ten years of coming to Costa Rica. Not only were the flowers and fruit trees beautiful, there is a big ylang ylang tree that made the property smell like paradise too! The garden also attracted more types of birds than we usually see on a property giving us hours of entertainment every day. The property manager is a character! Kenny was always responsive and a great resource for all things in the area. He was a pleasure to deal with and made himself available whenever we had a question. We loved every minute of our stay on this property - it is now one of our favorite places and we hope to be back.

Our Stay February 2022

We stayed here for 7 nights and absolutely loved it! The grounds are just beautiful filled with lots of tropical plants and trees. You will find pineapples… bananas.. lime trees and palms! The property is located in a central location close to awesome restaurants and shopping. The house is filled with everything you need to make your stay comfortable and relaxing. It’s a home away from home. We have been to Costa Rica for 9 years now and this is now one of our most favourite places to stay. Ojochal is very hot and the pool was so nice to cool off in. The outdoor living area is so nice to hang out in and bbq. So many awesome beaches nearby as well. You will not be disappointed staying here. We will definitely be back. Ken the property manager was very efficient and helpful with checking us in. He responds quickly and answers all your questions and is very informative about the area and things to do.

Lovely house with big yard and pool

This is a nice, big house with a beautiful yard and pool. We got in the pool every day and enjoyed all of the beautiful views while in it. We saw Scarlett Macaws every day. The owner and house manager were great to deal with. We would definitely come back.

Lovely house in farmland

The house was very well presented. It is located at the end of a village road and is an old farm-house converted into a vacation rental. Being an old farm-house it is on flat land without any view. However, the garden, pool, and outdoor living gave the house the added oomph that made the property enjoyable. The a/c in the bedroom was a huge relief at night to sleep. Ojachal is a hot place, and the wind dies down in the afternoon and at night. Amber, the owner, is really easy to communicate with and was very accommodating throughout the process. However, their property manager did not have the needed personality of hosting guests. He was not there at the property to check us in although he was well aware of our time of arrival in advance. He knew very little about the area although he has lived in Ojachal for over a decade. Other than that, we quite enjoyed staying in the house.

Séjour parfait!

Endroit parfait pour les amoureux de la nature qui aiment le calme. Le jardin est magnifique et la vue sur les montagnes est superbe. La maison est spacieuse pour 4 personnes et contient tout le nécessaire. Pour un léger supplément, la petite casita sur le terrain peut être louée également et permet de loger 2 autres personnes tout en gardant l’intimité. Le gérant Kenny est efficace et répond rapidement aux questions. Je recommande sans hésiter cette maison.

We have been married for 30 years and have 4 daughters with 14 grandchildren. We love to travel and chose Costa Rica as our retirement home away from home. We also enjoy surfing and waterfall jumping. Our children and grandchildren love coming to CR and sharing Pura Vida with us.

Why they chose this property

The gardens are beautiful and full of color. There are numerous fruit producing trees for year round tasting. Newly paved main road conveniently cuts drive time in half to access groceries, restaurants, beaches, etc. in town. The house is very well maintained, clean and comfortable just like home. It is perfect for the young and gently seasoned family members and all of those in between to enjoy all amenities. Only a few wide, gentle steps separate you from the pool. You can see from the house all the way to the back of the property and admire the beautiful mountain ridge views.

What makes this property unique

While other rentals make you feel like you are on a postage stamp, our property is a flat acre which gives you the space to explore and enjoy. The openness of the layout allows a nice breeze in the outdoor living spaces. The rancho is also the perfect place to watch the thunder and lightening storms when the rains come. Beautiful and peaceful best describes our home.
