About this property

Charming Private Cottage by the Beach

Sea View Mews is a newly-renovated cottage in a lush, private garden setting, just a few steps from the beach at Cambridge Beaches. It has one queen bedroom with en suite bathroom, fully equipped kitchen with gas stove, microwave, dishwasher and coffee machine, a large living/dining room, a beautiful walled garden with sunken dining area and BBQ, outdoor shower and direct access to the beach. There is a charging point for electric cars and plenty of parking. There is super-fast Wifi, perfect for your work-from-home respite in Bermuda. We have incorporated green technology - solar power and water filtration system for a comfortable, guilt-free stay!

There is a bus stop and supermarket a short walk away, as well as the other amenities of Somerset Village. Guests can use the restaurants and spa at Cambridge Beaches hotel, a short walk through the garden gate. You can also rent water sports equipment, mopeds and electric cars close by.

You will have complete private use of the cottage and garden during your stay.

We have Abby the Dalmatian and Sammy the Cocker Spaniel on the property, so you must be dog-friendly :). They can be kept out of the private mews garden if you wish. We welcome you to bring your dog with you, but have to say no to cats.

We provide beach towels, beach chairs and umbrellas, snorkelling equipment, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, washer and dryer. There is air conditioning and fast WiFi (500mbps) and redundant capacity with two separate networks - one fibre, one wireless.

We are located in the heart of Somerset, in a private 2-acre property set back from the quiet Cambridge Road. The historic Naval Dockyard and the South Shore beaches are an easy bus ride away, or you can nip there on your moped or Twizy. Ferries run from nearby Watford Bridge to Hamilton in the morning and afternoon and from Dockyard all day.

We provide bicycles you can use to explore the area, including the nearby tranquil Railway Trail. We are both keen cyclists and can provide recommendations for places to visit by bicycle.

Jonah is an artist who has his studio nearby and you are welcome to visit. Jonah's work can be seen at Jonah-art

Sea View has an interesting history of creative people who have lived there which can be seen on our website at Sea View Bermuda.

Perfect getaway

This is a lovely cottage, clean and well appointed. We were able to relax in the tranquil garden, and on the lovely beach. Highly recommend!

The whole experience beginning to end was a wonderful stay at the Mews. The hosts are kind and helpful. They have three well behaved dogs, we miss their morning visits. The rooms were clean and the place is in great condition. Its a short walk away from the beach and close to the grocery stores. Thank you Jo and Jonah, look forward to returning someday.

You couldn’t ask for a more beautiful, serene space to vacation! From the cottage, to the gardens and the peepers that lull you sleep at night…it’s perfect! There is a food market in walking distance as well as a bus stop! Friendly bus drivers help you to find your stop and offer guidance. It’s a very easy and economical way to explore the island! We explored the bike path this time around with bikes provided by the hosts and got an even better look at hidden gems just minutes from the cottage. The hosts, Jo and Jonah, are wonderful. They will point you in the right direction for anything you may need. And Jonah’s artwork is amazing and decorates the walls of the cottage! We absolutely love it here!

Absolutely the best find in Bermuda, will go back. Many thanks to Jo for the hospitality (husband was out of the country), and for making it a great vacation. She is a “super host”, always available and responsive. After running up and down the island for a week, we believe this was probably the best location, especially with that access to the private beach.

A Perfect Vacation

This is a beautiful property and accommodation in a quiet neighborhood. The hosts were extremely helpful with arranging a taxi from the airport and were very good at answering any questions we had.We liked it so much we will be back next year.

Absolute paradise!

If you are looking for a serene, beautiful vacation spot, look no further! You cannot help but relax here. Easy walk to buy groceries or to pick up the bus to visit other beaches or do more shopping. The gardens here are gorgeous and the hosts are wonderful!

Definitely going back!

This is a beautiful cottage with a large bedroom, nicely decorated bathroom, large great room equipped with a spacious desk and comfy furniture, and an equipped alley kitchen. The grounds are beautiful, and the cottage is just steps from the private beach. Our hosts are warm, accommodating, delightful people. Bermuda is filled with gorgeous scenery and friendly, people. We will be back!

Peaceful and beautiful

Jo and Jonah were fantastic and very welcoming! The Mews is lovely and private and beautifully furnished! The gardens are incredible and the short canopied walk through foliage to Long Bay Beach, a delight! Highly recommend this property for Bermudians (like us) looking for staycation or visitors.

Magnificent stay

Jo and Jonah’s place was superb! It was clean and well-equipped. The location was awesome…just steps away from the beach and the resort restaurants/spa. The market was an easy walk down the road. We loved sipping coffee in the beautiful courtyard where we also welcomed visits from Jo and Jonah’s sweet dogs. What made our stay most enjoyable was the graciousness and hospitality of our hosts, Jo and Jonah! They were simply the BEST!

Always Amazing!

This property surpasses all expectations. The cottage itself is so welcoming and lovely, with a comfortable bed, well-equipped kitchen and top-notch espresso machine. Everything is perfect, but the main draw will always be Jo and Jonah, our hosts. They make you feel right at home, as do pups Sammy and Abby. I can't wait to return again next year.

We don’t know where to start it was so fabulous. The hosts were so lovely and helpful, the cottage was perfection and the location spectacular, and we say that despite gale force winds and bands of rain. No matter to us. Amazing!

Truly the best vrbo experience I have ever had. The property is gorgeous! Very clean, well-appointed kitchen, gas grill, comfortable bed. It was like staying in your own home, only with a better view! Jo is the perfect host and is so welcoming, and the pups are all very sweet. I have already made plans to return!

Wonderful week at Sea View Mews

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sea View Mews. Jo and Jonah were great hosts, going out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. The apartment is lovely, very spacious, comfortable, and enhanced by Jonah's art. The location is very convenient. The bus and a good market are just a short walk away. The beach is, at most, a two-minute walk away. In short, we had all the ingredients for a great vacation.

Delightful villa

The property was situated in a fantastic location. The beach was just a short walk through trees and then you find yourself on the golden sands with the blue/green sea which was so clear. Jo and Jonah were so helpful making sure the bikes were in good condition for us to use. The dogs liked to say hi and very friendly. The property was lovely and spotless and well equiped with plenty of interesting art work on the walls. The garden was very private with plenty of plants and flowers. It was delightful and I would definitely stay there again.

Originally from the UK, Jonah & Jo have lived in Bermuda for over 30 years. Jonah is a well-known local artist working in oil paints and Jo works in the reinsurance industry. We love living by the water and participating in water sports such as snorkelling, kayaking and swimming. We are keen cyclists and so know every inch of the island! We have two dogs, Abby the Dalmatian and Sammy the Cocker Spaniel.

Why they chose this property

We bought this house after renting it for 5 years and just love it. The garden setting is so private and tranquil, but it is just a few steps from the beach where we get the most beautiful sunsets. The house is a little slice of Bermuda history and we are proud to be taking care of it and sharing it with others to enjoy as much as we do.
