About this property
CLASSIC Bermuda Home in Peaceful Smith’s Parish - ABSOLUTELY STUNNING views!
If you’re travelers rather than tourists and want to stay in a place with a true Bermudian feel, this is the vacation home for you. At the end of a peaceful lane, “High Terraces” is a 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom house lovingly updated in recent years to include all the modern amenities while retaining the charm of an old Bermuda home.
With spectacular views from sunrise to sunset, you won’t want to stray far from the back patio (complete with grill, table for six, and loungers). When it is time for an adventure, take a taxi, bus (bus stop is at the end of the lane) or rent a “Twizy”to enjoy the incredible beaches, shops, and sights that Bermuda has to offer. 2 Twizy charging stations on our property!
After a day of sightseeing, return to the comforts of home with an updated kitchen, airy living room and adjoining dining room, each decorated with traditional Bermudian art and furniture. Retire to one of three cozy bedrooms - one has a king bed, one a queen, and the third bedroom has two twin beds - perfect for families, couples, or group of friends!

About the host
Hosted by Marion and Gary Tilton

I was born and raised in Bermuda and had the privilege of growing up at High Terraces with my Mom and Dad, brother and sister. My Dad grew up on the land there, and built High Terraces when I was born!
My Mom was from Philadelphia. She came to Bermuda on vacation with her sister in 1948. In the days of the flying boats. They met my Dad’s parents on the flight, invited them to dinner and the rest is history!
I had wanderlust as a young person, as many young Bermudians do. I “flew the coop” and lived many places, landing a job as a flight attendant for a major US carrier was perfect for me! I flew for 40 years, during which time I married a lovely New Hampshire man, where we raised our kids, who are both Bermudians and we all love the island and High Terraces. Our daughter was married at High Terraces in 2019, in a beautiful tent overlooking Harrington Sound and the North Shore. Our son had his honeymoon there in 2024! Our niece and nephew were also married there, in 2016 and 2025 respectively.
Having my airline job made it possible to visit Bermuda so often I say I had one foot in Bermuda and one foot in the US and the world all my life!
We love being able to have High Terraces as a vacation rental so we can stay there too!! It’s one of our favorite places in the whole wide world!

Why they chose this property
The land High Terraces is built on was farm land of my Grandfather. When my father married my mother my grandfather gifted the land to my Dad. So I could say this land chose me! We love the peaceful setting, the extraordinary views of Harrington Sound and North Shore. You’ll watch cruise ships heading in and out of Bermuda, and know you’re getting to really know the islands! You’ll watch beautiful sunrises and sunsets while having breakfast and later in the day cocktails on the terrace.
You can also dine alfresco under the poinciana tree on the lawn, an area large enough to play croquet.

What makes this property unique
A true Bermuda gem of a home. At the end of a sweet lane, with over half an acre of land you’ll hardly see another home nearby.
Peace and quiet. Enjoy long evenings on the porch, “terrace” with drinks, barbecue, watching the sunset, evening drawing in and lights appear on the houses across Harrington Sound!
Loved through the generations, and now with several repeat guests who come for over a month each during the winter. You will understand ours and their attachment the moment you arrive!
