Place was very clean and suited our family vacation perfectly. The proximity to the cedar River was ideal for our family, allowing people to walk to the grocery store or to the whitewater park. The house itself has several nice bedrooms and the bathrooms were very clean and spacious. There was even a toy room in one of the sunrooms that our little kids loved to play in. Would highly recommend!
We 5 friends mostly hung out at the house playing games, visiting, praying, sharing faith stories and eating good food. It was a wonderful setting to do all that. We enjoyed eating out one evening, taking a walk along the river, and shopping one afternoon. We like to find thrift stores wherever we go and Charles City had 2 that we visited.
This property was very clean, well appointed and close to grocery stores and restaurants. We will definitely stay here again when we are in Charles City.
Nice place to stay and very comfortable. Enjoyed using the charcoal grill and having a comfortable living room space for adults to visit while others could play games in room with TV. Would recommend this place if you are in the Charles City area.
Large spacious well-maintained home within easy walking distance of everything you want to see and do in downtown Chuck Town. Owner made the stay a breeze.
From the minute you enter the house, the Victorian era is wonderful! The staging makes you feel like you are back in time. Hot showers one of most comfortable bwds I have slept in. Host was so good to work with.beds
We needed some extra space while in Charles City celebrating Thanksgiving and decided to try a rental as opposed to getting hotel rooms like we usually do. We will for sure use this house again! It fit our needs and we loved having our morning coffee in the parlor!
We were in town for a family reunion. The house was clean and had everything we needed.
We have extended family in Charles City and hope to stay again soon!!
This is the second time we've stayed at this house while visiting family in the area. It's an older house but very nice and clean. Very well stocked. Works great for a family.

We'll book again. Location is great geographically speaking in the city very close to what we needed; but neighborhood not so much a plus. Great vintage feel :)
4 friends flower shopping. This house worked perfect for us. Had everything we needed. Our only regret is we didn’t stay 2 nights! We loved looking at all of the unique decorations and character of the house.

Why they chose this property
We love older homes--both the quality and the charm attract us every time. This home has been well preserved and offers the space, location and amenities desired by travelers.
What makes this property unique
This property allows a family to gather at a price that compares very favorably to hotels. The two sunporches on this property add that very special touch of a "special place to gather, enjoy a solitary cup of coffee, read, or host happy hour." The kitchen and dining area of this home seem to be everyone's favorite spot because of its open floor plan. We're not a "new" or super "modern" property but we are comfortable, roomy and welcoming.
