Located on Cedar Lake in Nashua, Iowa, you will walk just steps out the back door to Cedar Lake. Hate bugs? Imagine eating dinner and having drinks in the screened in porch while you watch the sun set over the lake. Take a relaxing soak in the always freshly filled hot tub. Lake Shore Park is 2 blocks up the street and includes a 1-mile walking trail, boat launch with a sand beach and gazebo overlooking the lake. We also have 2 kayaks,2 bicycles, a canoe, fire ring, laundry and a 52-inch television. Everything you will ever need, plus! The security of being in town with all the privacy of your own place and everything is included...no additional amenity charges!

My husband and I stayed here with our 7 week old! It was absolutely amazing! Never saw any neighbors. Very quiet and private. The house was so clean, and comfortable. Loved the sun room! We used the hot tub as well! We went to the Dairy Treat in town and it was the best ice cream we have had! We did not catch any fish, so that was disappointing but the lake/river was super high! We would stay here again!!

Cozy Place

Nice cozy place to stay with a beautiful view of the river. We love to gather by the fire pit area in the evening. We stay here when we come home to visit our family. Check in was perfect and our stay was fabulous.

Weekend Getaway

We enjoyed being on the lake where the scenery was beautiful. We were particularly fond of the evening soaks in the hot tub. Perfect for a weekend getaway.

Great weekend!

Overall the stay was great. The sleeping arrangements are a little weird as the double futon is in the bedroom and the trundle beds are in the living room, but we made it work.

Relaxing Stay

Relaxing stay on the Cedar Lake in Nashua. Ducks out in the lake every morning were entertaining. The hot tub was nice and the house was clean. Plenty of room for our family. Lots of games to play and the decor was very cute. Will definitely be back!

We wanted a weekend on the water. The house was clean and everything worked. We were on the lake for hours each day using the optional floating devices. The hot tub was nice. We stayed up outside on the small dock to watch the meteor shower. Beautiful location.

End of Summer Lake Trip

The location of the house was perfect! Small quite town and right on the lake!! We loved that the property had kayaks for guests to use and a hot tub! We took advantage of both and used the small fire pit every night! We were able to swim right off the dock, but we also took advantage of the small public beach on other side of the lake with the water volleyball court and our kids loved that! The house is small - but has everything you need.

Spring Break Getaway

My husband, myself, and our son ( age 17), rented this home for Spring break. We were pleasantly surprised by how well equipped this home is and by the cleanliness of the property. We have rented through VRBO many times, and this was on our top five of properties we have stayed in. This home is well equipped with everything you need to cook meals. We used the grill and cooked most of our meals. While the weather wasn’t what we had hoped for, we still enjoyed time together and made use of the books and games that were supplied. If you’re looking for relaxation, this is the place! If you’re looking to be entertained, there’s not much to do in Nashua, but there is a movie theater and a bowling alley in the nearby town of Charles City. We enjoyed a meal at The Pub on the Cedar. We hope to be back in the summer when we can make use of the canoe and kayaks provided in the garage. There is plenty of space to sleep multiple people, and the screened in porch was wonderful. We enjoyed watching the bald eagles and the wood ducks on the water.

The lake view was breathtaking! We sat in the screened in porch every morning we were there. No bugs, just beautiful swans. The inside was very clean and spacious. Our family came to visit while we were there, they loved the lake view. The weather was perfect .

What a perfect little house and setting. We brought our two toddler children and one infant and thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The house was clean and had everything we needed. The kids slept great on the twin sized pull out couches. We loved the screened in porch for meals and the kids enjoyed the hot tub and roasting marshmallows at night as well as the Franklin books! Overall 10/10 experience! Sharon was an excellent host.

The hot tub is small enough that it is easily filled with clean water after each visit. This limits excess chemical usage in trying to 'keep' the same water.
