This beautiful home overlooks the Shell Rock River, is very close to our down town and is within walking distance to the city park. It includes 2 bedrooms and 1 bath and has been renovated from floor to ceiling. The home is completely furnished with everything you could possibly need for your short or long term stay. Great Getaway

My husband and I stayed at Bertie’s place for the second time and were reminded again of what a great stay this is for us. The house is so well-stocked, so clean, so comfortable, and it makes for a relaxing retreat. With the weather nicer this trip, we did get to sit on the deck and go by the water. We would recommend this stay, and we hope to be back!!

One of the best places I’ve stayed

My adult daughter and I spent the weekend together relaxing, reading, watching TV, water coloring and having some good mother/daughter time. This house was everything we could have asked for. It was clean, updated, stocked with everything you would ever need, and had a beautiful view of the river. Melissa was so responsive and helpful. I can hardly wait to book this house again!

I booked this property because the online pictures looked wonderful and so was the price. Finding out after we booked they also bought the property that leads to the river. That was such a bonus! We had a fire both nights and enjoyed the view. Beautiful home that had everything you would need and then some. LOVED our stay. 😊❤️

We hated to leave!

We like to stay at VRBOs when we travel. We have stayed in many in several locations. This property was the best to date. Beds were very comfortable and you won't believe the shower!!!! The property has access to the river and you can enjoy the evening with a fire in the fire pit. It is beautifully decorated and modern. We were able to work remotely with the Wi-Fi and were within walking distance to the park and downtown. This is a SIX star property.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Quiet getaway

We were looking for a quiet retreat for the weekend and we found it. The house is so clean and very nice. We didn't use the kitchen but it was fully ready for anything we could've wanted. The dock area was really nice to relax and try some fishing. Melissa and Brian were very nice and fun to talk to. They have a golf cart to get down to the dock area that was so great of them to think of. There was any amenity you could need. Great stay, great people all around! Loved it and will come back!

A Diamond in the Rough

My husband and I stayed at this house to celebrate my husband's birthday and get away from the business of the big city. The house exceeded our expectations, had EVERYTHING we needed supplied for us, and we enjoyed a wonderful get-away and relaxation. Though we never met the owners who lived close, we appreciated their opening their home and the great work they did to refurbish it. BEAUTIFUL!! We hope to be back in the future! This is a 5 star house and experience for us!!

Amazing Home. Amazing Hosts!

This was a wonderful home. Extremely clean, extremely well furnished, and a delightfully peaceful location! We absolutely loved the story behind the home. Melissa and Brian were wonderful. They checked in with us to make sure we were settled and satisfied. They had provided for anything we may need during our stay. The community was quiet, and the small town atmosphere was soul filling. Couldn't have enjoyed our stay more!!

Best Stay Ever

I've stayed in several homes and this by far, was the best. For the first time, the pictures don't do the property justice. The home is absolutely beautiful, clean, and there are so many details and surprises along the way. The view is beautiful and walk along the river was peaceful. The hosts are incredibly kind and thoughtful and were available for questions. This will become a regular get-away for me.

We’re the proud parents of 3 awesome kids and the grandparents to 2 adorable little boys. During the summer months, you can find us out of the water boating or hanging out by the river. During the winter months, we enjoy home renovations and going to ours son’s athletic events.

Why they chose this property

We purchased this home in November of 2017 and spent the next year gutting it down to the studs and rebuilt it from there. Everything in the home is new.
