This property was perfect for our family vacation. It had everything we needed with the addition of a hot tub. We loved the convenience of the Stanley Hotel and downtown Estes all being within walking distance.
Sweet stone house in an old pine neighborhood. Great beds. Nice hot tub. Walkable to everything but quiet, serene location. Elk in the front yard. Lovely place to stay and we would rent here again.
Beautiful property. We were greeted by a family of 8 elk walking within 30 feet of us, and the stay lived up to the start. Loved it!
My only concern about the property is the driveway—if it had been snowy or rainy I’m not sure that’s the most accessible way up.
Great location and comfortable house with nice furnishings. Management very responsive for a few items we wanted. Only negative is lack of outside gathering area
Really felt like we got away, yet we were two minutes from town by car. The house is historic. Exterior rock is amazing. Enclosed back yard was good for dogs. Overall very pleased. Felt almost more like a cabin in some ways. Network was solid.
Cabin feel. Very clean. Elk and mule deer right in the yard. Had a little trouble grilling steaks. Wished the grill would have heated up better, but overall we love this place. Hope to get back someday!
We rented from VRBO for a weekend getaway. So glad we stumbled on the Stonehaven House! There were literally 6 mule deer surrounding the property when we arrived. Welcome to Estes!
We did find, after arriving, that you have to check in at Fawn Valley Inn to get the keys. I scoured my emails and couldn't find this info, but the neighbor lady let us know. It is about a 20 minute drive, but not inconvenient if you know to go there first.
This is a 4 bedroom house with 2 king and 2 queen beds. I believe the couch also folds out, but 6 adults and one child were probably the most you would want sleeping here. The rooms were a nice size upstairs and down and the beds were comfortably rustic.
The dining area easily sat 7, and was located off of a galley kitchen that provided the amenities/utensils you would want for a getaway - and made prepping meals convenient. The layout of the house is open enough that you are not always on top of each other, which can be a rare find in vacation rentals.
There are 2 bathrooms, one on each floor. which again was nice for the number in our group.
They allow dogs and have a rocked/fenced in yard in the back. We kept ours leashed when we were outside though, due to all of the wildlife. There is a nice area off the kitchen that accommodated kennels for night time.
We grilled burgers one night, so the grill was nice to have. We did not use, but there was available a washer and dryer in the basement and a hot tub outside.
The cabin was extremely clean, spotless even. We were surprised to find that there were actually 4 bedrooms, when I could have sworn the listing only said 3! That meant that our 1 kid got her own room. I love that it was dog friendly. We were able to walk to the downtown from the property, as well as the Stanley hotel, which everyone enjoyed. We saw deer in the back yard. The hot tub guy was there both days to clean, even though we only used it once. The stone cabin has an old house charm with a lot of really great new touches. The location was also top notch.
We enjoyed the Stonehaven Home's walled patio that allowed our dogs to be unleashed/play as well as it being a very short ride to both downtown and the dogpark. Having the elk visit in the mornings is a great way to start the day.
Great size house with lots of beds! Loved the quiet area and the great hot tub! Directions to open hot tub lock were not very clear; finally our 13 yr. old figured it out. Also we didn’t know why there wasn’t a recycling can; we separated our garbage just in case. The gratuity envelope was a bit off putting seeing as how we were already paying 200 for cleaning. Not sure I’ve ever see that in VRBO… All in all, great property!
We came up for 2 nights for a little breather- Stonehaven is Amazing! The house was perfect for our family of four- Clean, nice furniture and eveything we needed. The only slight issue would be is that both beds upstairs are in need of new mattresses. One side of each one sinks into a deep hole. Other than that, everything was perfect! Bull elk in the yard each evening! Amazing!
the yard each evening! AMAZING! tthboth
My husband, adult son, and I had a wonderful stay at the Stonehaven home. The house is very spacious and close to everything in Estes Park. There were several deer that came by to hang out in the yard and we very much enjoyed watching them! The house and kitchen were well stocked although we didn't actually do any cooking besides breakfast. Our son really enjoyed the hot tub and there's a fenced in area behind the house which is nice if you are bringing your dog. We would definitely stay at this property again and highly recommend it!
Family and friend stayed at Stonehaven. The property was at an ideal location. Estes park, RMNP, snowshoeing, skiing, horses and pretty much anything else you might want to do outside in the mountains. Hot tub was a great way to end the day. Loved our stay here!
