Located in Playa Hermosa, 10 min from Jaco Beach, 20 min to Los Sueños Marina and 90 min to SJO airport

Experience all the natural wonders of Costa Rica while enjoying a beautifully designed tropical modern beach house,  surrounded by beautiful lush forests in Valle Perdido (lost valley) a gated community with guards at the entrance 24 hours and only a five minute walk to the beach and surf!

Several small creeks run through the area and  shaded roads make for great morning walks. Monkeys, wild turkeys, toucans, scarlet macaws, blue morpho butterflies, wild pigs, horses and all kinds of birds can be seen in this community.

Nearby Jaco Beach has many restaurants, shops and an active nightlife.

Tours in the area include sport fishing, ATV rentals, zipline, surf lessons, horseback riding, crocodile tour, turtle watching and waterfall tours.

Amazing property

We had an amazing time at the property. The pool is awesome, we spent a lot of time in it! The property is centrally located and close Jaco, Manuel Antonio park and a bunch of beaches. Chris was super helpful with local recommendations and setting us up with catering.

Family getaway

The house was very clean, in a great neighborhood... close enough to Jaco to go throughout the day of needed but far enough away from the busy traffic and people.Chris was very nice and helpful, the guards at the gate were nice. The house was beautiful.

Perfect little get away house

Perfect little house for a small group. The doors opened up completely to allow great access to the swimming pool. We saw tiger herons each morning on the patio. Very nice!

The house is gorgeous and is conveniently located. Having the pool was an excellent benefit and we used it daily. The communication with Chris was awesome and he provided a lot of info for us, very responsive. If I were to return I would stay here again simply for the fact of the pool and communication with Chris.

Amazing, Beautiful Place.

My family and I absolutely loved this place. The house is amazing, the grounds and land are amazing, and the whole experience was amazing. We had great, easy, informative information the whole way through. Christopher helped us with everything from the check-in process to the best local vendors, to the best local surf spots. The house fit our family of 5 extremely comfortably, and it is absolutely beautiful. Great pool and surrounding wildlife. I would love, absolutely love, to stay here again. Pura Vida!

Amazing!!

This was such a beautiful property to relax and unwind - surrounded by beautiful forest and amazing birds and butterflies- the pool was perfection especially on a starry night - chris was brilliant at helping us find things to do in the area and identifying all the plants and trees!!! Chef Bruno was amazing and we had the most delicious food. The area was so nice and relaxed there were many paths to follow next to the house to see the birds, waterfalls and the evasive monkeys!!! The local coffee shop and restaurants were great and the sunsets were amazing! We had the best time and can’t wait to get back

This Home made our stay EXCELLENT

We really enjoyed our stay at this home. It fit our family of 5 so well. Three kids ages 14,12 and 6. Yes the living area is hot, but the pool and air in the bedrooms MORE than make up for it. A nice surprise was the pool table that we had not seen in photos. We used a chef that was recommended to us by the host and the food was excellent. Thank you, Chef Bruno. Costa Rica had to grow on us but this house was a treat to come back to each day.

Relax and Enjoy!

I stayed here with a friend for 3 nights and it was pure paradise! The pictures on the listing are accurate, but I would say it's even nicer in person. The house was clean and inviting and the pool was pristine. While we did leave a few times for brief outings, we couldn't wait to get back to the house! Be sure to follow suggestions from Chris. They're all spot on! And if you do nothing else, be sure to stop at Cafe Bohio for the best coffee you'll find in Costa Rica. I will definitely be back!

Truly magical stay!

Look no further for the perfect place to stay in CR. This home is it. From the incredible pool to the huge windowed doors that open up completely to allow the cross breezes through - our stay here was pure magic. Oh and I can't forget the outside shower, pure heaven. This home is modern and clean and truly breath taking in it's design and function. Christopher, our host, was literally just a text away for literally everything we needed - esp grateful for the local doctor recommendation when my husband had some stomach issues. The location is minutes from Jaco - which has everything, views, sunsets, swimming and incredible restaurants. We have stayed in many Vrbo's over the years but this one is by far our favorite.

The house is beautiful. Just a few things to mention... If you are an older person or someone with any back or knee issues the beds are only 11 inches from the floor. So my husband had issues getting out of bed every morning. He has hip and knee issues. I also recommend the owner invest in better chairs in the pool deck area. The area with the homeis located is very nice.

Wonderful Retreat

Chris, the host of the property was absolutely great! He was attentive and made many wonderful suggestions from places to eat, things to do and even arranged for us to hire a private chef for an evening. The house itself is comfortable with a sort of minimalist decor. The beds were comfortable but very low to the ground. A couple of things to be aware of, the AC worked extremely well but is only located in the two bedrooms. The living room/kitchen got very warm but nothing that a quick dip in the pool couldn't take care of. Also, no washer or dryer, although Chris was able to work out a solution for us. Overall, a very nice stay.

Beautiful setting in the Rainforest but close to the beach

This property is beautiful and welcoming. Where ever you are in the house, you feel like you are in a park. I enjoyed listening to the waves at night, and early morning; along with the howler monkeys. Watching the parrots fly overhead throughout the day, or the iguanas basking in the sun. The property was a sanctuary for me. Chris was available, and always responded quickly to any of my questions. His recommendations for restaurants and/or beaches were always what I was looking for. There is a unique trail below the house along the creek and through the trees to walk to the beach. (Use bug spray) I’m looking forward to my next trip! Thank you Chris, for everything!

Wish I was still there…

Was the house perfect? No, could the pool been a bit cleaner? Yes, did the house had a few kinks that needs fixing? Perhaps. But overall, amazing house, in a great setting, in the perfect location. But what really made the difference is Chris, the owner. You don’t need to reach him. He proactively reaches out to you, provides you with all the info you need, checks in on you to ensure if all is ok or if he can do anything else to make your trip incredible. At some point, I was almost embarrassed of taking advantage of his very generous offers to help. Thanks a millions Chris, see you soon!

Tranquil setting

The house was great but had a few issues. First, I want to say communication with the owner was great; he was very responsive and provided lots of information. The property was a little hard to find as we arrived in the dark and tried to walk to the front door ( please avoid because I just missed a hole in the ground). Go through the carport. The house is as pictured, pool was great but not really sure if it was chlorinated? We did have ants in the house and on the counters. The appliances were showing some wear due to humidity and the kitchen could have been cleaner. The main living area is not air conditioned so it is pretty warm! The bedrooms were air conditioned and felt great. I loved the indoor/outdoor shower.

Less than meets the eye

Upon our arrival we were welcomed at the door by the true residents of this villa…the local red ant colony. They have made their home in every corner of the house, with no spray made avaiable to us. Instead it was locked up in a closet we had no access to. Also please note that this home ONLY has air conditioning in the bedrooms. The main living room area and kitchen were always at least 10 degrees hotter than the temperature outside. Be ready to sweat! I guess that’s why the extremely loud industrial fan is situated in the living room that merely circulates the heat like a blow dryer, somehow it never made the pics used for the listing. We were told to simply open the glass walls which of course left us fighting and losing against the mosquitoes. No matter what you do your stay will also include every local lizard running across the floors and walls. The master bedroom has a King size bed with the most lopsided mattress that will have you rolling off the bed. I wish I was making this up. Needless to say we selected another property almost immediately to ensure we could salvage the rest of or trip at a better property. I still feel itchy from hundreds of ants and mosquitoes and lizards that have taken over this property.

Construction still ongoing.

This is a 5 star property for the house, deck and pool and Chris was always prompt in his replies. At this time, however, I do not feel it can be a 5 star property as there is ongoing construction in the area. We specifically asked about construction noise when we booked in August and Chris said the construction of the house next door would be finished by the time we came at the end of January. For two of the three days we were there, there were two dump trucks moving dirt along the road at the bottom of the deck and then grinding up and down the hill next to the house. This went on all day, both days. From the house construction site next door tools like rock hammers, grinders and chop saws were being used throughout the work day. The crew and equipment start arriving at 6:30 am and go until 5. if I spoke Spanish I could have told you what the house crew was discussing in their normal conversations, the sound travels that well. This makes for a very small window of opportunity for a quiet morning cup of coffee on the deck. Obviously Chris has no control over this construction but had we been made aware that construction, something we had specifically asked about, was in fact ingoing, we could have had the option to make alternate plans for our Jaco stay. We were quite disappointed to arrive into this din of noise when we were anticipating enjoying the remainder of the afternoon poolside. If this sort of annoyance would not bother you, then I would absolutely recommend this property for you stay in the Jaco area.

Amazing House

If you are looking for a quite get away in a neat little surf village this is the house for you. Cant say enough about Chris the house owner, he made our trip a breeze from setting up a rental car for us that met us at the door of the airport to recommendations about what to do in the area to helping set up excisions. He was great.

Anniversary Getaway

My husband and I spent a week at Playa Hermosa. The property owner, Chris, was very responsive throughout our entire stay. He made recommendations of places to eat and things to check out. If you're looking for good coffee, check out Cafe Bohio (per Chris' recommendation). Very good! Unfortunately the pool had to be cleaned right before our arrival and they had to put a bunch of stuff in there to treat it. Chris communicated this information to me and let me know it wasn't safe to get into the pool that first day. I'm sad we missed that first day but appreciate him sharing this information so that we didn't get sick or anything! Once the pool was treated, it was fine and the pool guys came a couple more times to check on it and clean things up. There is construction going on close to the house so pretty regularly throughout the week we heard bulldozers and people driving by the house. It is a beautiful setting but just know there is construction going on around you so you may not always have that "peace and quiet." There is a store about 2-3 minutes away from the house that's open 24/7 which is super convenient. There's a pizza place located right next to it and both places will deliver. There is A/C in the house but only in the two bedrooms. The main living room area just has a fan. We could keep the doors to the bedrooms closed so they would stay cool and then opened up the sliding glass doors in the living room for fresh air. One of my favorite features of the house were the sliding glass doors. It made the space feel so open! Prepare to see animals around the house! There is an iguana that would frequent the porch (harmless) and geckos on the ceilings (also harmless). We also happened to see a snake one day that slithered up through the slats on the patio and made its way over to the outdoor workout area. We didn't see it again after that, thankfully! I do suggest keeping the master bathroom door closed when you aren't using it because critters (spiders) can show up in there and you don't want them in your bedroom! It was fun seeing all the different animals throughout our time there! Overall, we had a great experience and enjoyed our time at Playa Hermosa in Costa Rica!
