For a rental at this price and this client, the home should have A/C added. Fans don't do much for the home when it's hot. The 2nd bedroom would not go below 80 degrees, even at night.

Hot and Humid

The property was very clean and location very good. However, it is not air conditioned. If you are coming from the south or other humid location, you can probably deal with it. If you are coming from Colorado or a similar dry climate, I would highly recommend you not stay here. Even with ceiling fans, it is just too hot and humid to be even remotely comfortable.

Kauai Family Get-A-Way

My husband and I got married on Kauai 19 years ago- brought our 3 kiddos this time to celebrate our oldest graduating high school. We chose this property based upon previous reviews and it’s location. The house was nicely equipped with everything we needed to be comfortable. The home was even better than the photos could show. So nicely decorated and really clean. We were nervous about no AC, but it cooled nicely in the evenings- did not bother us one bit. We kept all the windows open at night and used the extra fans in the bedrooms. In fact we all slept great at night. The outdoor shower was a family favorite- the boys used it over the indoor showers. The lanai area was perfect to eat, play games or just enjoy the evening. The kitties were nice to have around and loved the fish we barbecued. They were well fed while we were there. We did buy a couple nice boogie boards and left them for future guests. The beach is right across the street and you have a water view from the lanai. It is a very busy little beach, so you will have a lot of traffic in front of the home. The beach is good to sit and relax or if you have smaller kids. Our kiddos were older so we spent time at the bigger beaches. We loved our time here and will miss our evenings at the beach bungalow. Thank you for sharing your home!!

Reviewer Comments: Its a cute little cottage - the perfect size for a family or two couples (each having their own bathroom) and situated in an ideal spot for the baby beach!Theres just a couple things I would mention, however. Its HOT inside the house and there is NO AC. There are ceiling fans but they dont help much and there is no cross breeze at all. It seems other renters had similar issues because we found several standing and tabletop fans in the closets - so pulled them out to try and cool the house down. But for the most part it was cooler outside than inside. We were there at the end of Sept, so I cant imagine how very uncomfortable it would be in the middle of summer!The other thing is the cats. The minute we got there probably 5 or 6 stray cats came up onto the porch looking for food (which meant sitting out on the front porch wasnt going to happen). We found a tupperware container of dry biscuits in the pantry, so clearly the cats are used to being fed. My granddaughter loved it (and named each cat) but I can imagine if someone has allergies, they wouldnt be happy about it.Lastly I was surprised that when we arrived the house was all closed up (windows closed and ceiling fans off). We were told to let GIR know when we had arrived, I was assuming so they could pop over and turn the fans on and kind of 'open' the house to get it a bit cooler. However, thats just a little thing, that perhaps the owner didnt allow for. All in all, it was a nice little cottage, but I think in future I would choose somewhere with AC and no cats. I put yes I would recommend this property to a friend, but I would let them know about the No AC and the cats as a caveat.

We spent a lot of time on the front lanai playing games and having family time. There is a concrete parking pad behind the house to park one or two cars. The bungalow is well equipped and had everything we needed for a perfect stay. We enjoyed having the use of the beach chairs and beach towels to use. We loved the cat that would always greet us daily in the yard! We have stayed in luxury hotels and rented luxury beach homes but this time we wanted to rent something that was down to earth, simple and easy. Baby Beach Bungalow is reminiscent of days gone by. This was one of best places we have ever rented.
