A uniquely designed home, spacious, beautiful views from every room, located in a quiet neighborhood, close enough to the city to enjoy the sights (11.5 miles) and far enough away to feel like a vacation. Salt water pool, gas grill and fire pit. Previous guests have praised the "spectacular views," "exceptionally clean," "outdoor space and pool are fantastic,'' and "everything you could need is here." Pets welcome.
Enjoy the sights and sounds of downtown Nashville one day and the next day enjoy water sports. Elm Hill Marina (2 miles) and Nashville Shores (5 miles) offer rentals and other activities. You and your friends and family can enjoy a quiet day around the pool and patio area or sitting on the upper deck watching the view and activities of the lake.
Pets are welcome. Owners live next door, unobtrusive but available for any problem or concern. There is a large fenced in yard available for pets to enjoy a romp in safety.

Mary and Jim's home is well-equipped and clean, and we felt very much at home. It is located about 25 minutes from Broadway however, we liked that we were staying in a quiet, safe neighbourhood. Jim was very accommodating and was willing to help in any way. A great stay!

We had a great time during our stay! The pool was a real hit every morning. Jim was such a pleasure, he made sure we had everything we needed along with a Hot Pecan Pie that was the best pie I’ve ever tasted! Thanks for everything Mary and Jim!

The hosts hospitality is second to none. Best stocked kitchen. Heated pool and firepit for outdoor enjoyment. And pet friendly to boot!. Could not have asked for more.

Simply the best

We had a fantastic time! Enjoyed the house and the pool. Our hosts, Jim and Mary, were the best. We had everything we needed and then some. Chocolate pecan pie made by Jim was delicious. Some much needed R & R.

Perfect Stay

We were in town for our daughter’s graduation and the home couldn’t have been more perfect. Jim and Mary are amazing hosts who made the check-in/check-out process so easy and made themselves available if we needed them. We were even able to host a small graduation party. The pictures do not do the house justice, it is a darling place and made for the perfect stay.

Great Nashville house

Very nice, clean house. Pool is awesome. Owners are fast to respond and always available which is nice. It’s pet friendly and was perfect for our dog as well.

Loved it!

Beautiful home, clean & comfortable. Close to all the entertainment. Pool was great as was the view from master bedroom. Owners provided wonderful amenities - thought of everything! Highly recommend!

We had an excellent stay. The house was ours for 6 days Lot of extras in this gem. Beds are comfy wish the weather would have been better to use the pool. Thank you Jim for the detailed orientation and for the awesome pies.

Fun in Nashville

First time to Nashville and we had a blast. The house was beautiful and had everything we needed. The owners of the house I’ve next door so if there were to be any issues, it was good to know they were close by. The house wasn’t a far drive from everything we had planned and everything we did that week…..which was amazing. I would definitely recommend this house to future guests.

Wonderful place

Beautiful home. We rent homes a lot and this is stocked with more essentials then you can imagine. Did not get downtown due to COVID-19 which made the pool a great amenity Jim and Mary were great. Jim brought us one of his famous pies which was delicious. Really enjoyed our stay will be back.

Nashville Family Getaway

We have stayed at this property 4 times now and each stay has been wonderful. The Owners Mary and Jim are the kindest people you'll ever meet! .They really go above and beyond, Jim bakes us his famous pie every trip. We really enjoy the heated salt water pool and our dog is welcomed too. It's our Zen place! Thanks for another great stay. Jeff, Kathy and Garbo too!

Beautiful home!

Run, don’t walk, to book this special property. Wonderful property owners and stunning home. Great for a family rental or for several couples. Far enough outside of Nashville to enjoy the quiet for a bit, but close enough to get to the action quickly. The views from the upstairs bedrooms are amazing. Can’t say enough good things about this home and it’s people!

Exactly what we needed!!

This place is exactly as it’s described! Jim & Mary are very welcoming & accommodating -we felt “at home”. $20 (give or take on time of day) Uber ride to the heart of Nashville & Broadway-and well worth every penny!! The warm pecan pie Jim baked us was out of this world-Yummy!! Would definitely stay here again!

Nashville get away

The house suited our needs very nicely. It was close enough to the city to do all the "downtown" stuff and yet keep us away from the hustle and bustle. One note: the pool is closed from November thru March. That was a disappointment. The owners were very responsive to any questions or needs that we had- thanks for replacing the garbage disposal!!

Memorial Day trip!

This was our 3rd time staying at The Goodwin Oasis. Mary and Jim are such wonderful people. Jim spoils us with his famous pie each time, what a treat! Amazing Stay

The house was perfect - it was very comfortable and exactly as advertised. The neighborhood was quiet, great patio and heated pool. Will definitely come back to this exact spot and recommend to friends and family visiting the area. This is a great place for family with children or a group that comes kidless. Best Host

I stayed at the residence with a co-worker the week of Feb 6-10. The house was very clean and located on a cul de sac. The host was very friendly and met us upon our arrival. The host had purchased bread, cereal, fruit, milk and beer for our arrival. The host actually lives next door, but dont let that discourage you, we only seen him on the initial arrival. Great stay and very comfortable beds.

We've been on this little cul de sac since 1999. Jim is a Nashville native and I'm from Florida. People seldom leave once they move into this neighborhood. However, our little neighbor "Dee" died in 2015 and we took the opportunity to buy her beloved home. We love our home next door and it suits our needs better but we felt Dee's house was special and a good investment. I used it as an office for my counseling practice for a couple of years and the patients loved it. Many people suggested we offer it as a short-term rental to people vacationing in the area. We've always worked. Jim as an over-the-road truck driver and myself, as a nurse practitioner. We're not ready to completely retire and we enjoy meeting people. It seems like an ideal situation.

Why they chose this property

The owner, an elderly neighbor of many years, died in 2015 and we thought it would be a good investment and a way to control the neighborhood. Our neighbor "Dee" loved her home and was such an wonderful neighbor, we couldn't bear to see someone move in who did not value the house and neighborhood like she did. We've continued her tradition in keeping the house in meticulous shape. I think she'd be proud to know so many people have enjoyed it's beauty and special character.

What makes this property unique

The reaction most people have when they walk in the house is "Wow. It's beautiful." Then as they come further in it's "Wow. What a view." There is a very strong sense of beauty and serenity about the house.
