Sunny Clutter Free Modern Home

Just made available for the fall and winter
Down a long driveway, but minutes to the village of Tivoli
Flooded with sunlight from the south, our house offers the best in modern building science, cool in the summer, warm in the winter.
We are old school and ask that you tell us a little bit about yourself when requesting your stay. Thanks.
With western and eastern decks overlooking the flowing creeks, guests enjoy abundant wild and bird life. Having the best of both worlds this property is walking distance to the village of Tivoli, with its grocery store, restaurants, pub, wine shop and clothing shops. Butting our property is Tivoli Bays a 1500 state park with fantastic walks and a kayak/ canoe launch.
This property is a truly special place surrounded by 100 year old oaks, incredible bird life and fantastic nocturnal night sounds and night skies.

Our architect designed house is a minimalist house with a strong ecological bent. We have a drawer dishwasher, an European stacked washer/ dryer and a clothesline. We have one walk in shower and a outdoor shower, the other bathrooms have bath tubs with hand held showers.
The 9 acre parcel is completely private from neighbors but shares a guest house.

The area offers great restaurants, farmer markets, , historic homes and gardens great hiking, sculpture garden, art galleries, skiing, swimming, year long fun...

Pets are allowed on a case by case by basis , with a deposit held.

This property sits on the ancestral land of the Munsee Lenape people within the Stony Creek watershed.

We are minutes to Bard College. Close to Hudson, Germantown and Rhinebeck. Right across our driveway is Tivoli Bays, great hiking, cross country skiing or kayaking. Tivoli Village, walking distance, has a wonderful general store, Japanese food, high end dining at the Hotel, Mexican Food, an Irish Pub, a Spanish Tapas Bar and Pizza.

John and Liza have lived in the area for years. We are both artist, we have built several homes in the area. We raised our 2 adult children here. John designed and built much of the furniture in the house. Liza is an avid gardener. We built the house in 2016 to passive standards. Why they chose this property

If you are looking for a country house where you can enjoy the outdoors regardless of the weather this is it. We have huge European windows that bring the outdoors in. Walk our 9 acres or head across the road to Tivoli Bays. You can walk to Bard through the dirt road and fields or take the route along the bays and Hudson River. We are minutes to the historic Clermont State Park where we often go to picnic and watch the sun set over the river.

What makes this property unique

We have decks that sit high above the creek, fields and forest. Star gazing is amazing. We feel very luck to have this home. The house is wheelchair accessible coming into the house, no steps. John uses a wheelchair. The bathrooms work for him but it may not work for all disabled people. John is particularly strong and independent.
