We had a good time staying here! The house is secluded and private, and the inside looked like the photos in the listing. The bedrooms are pretty small, but the owners provided everything we could have needed during our stay. The outside of the property could use some work, as other reviewers have mentioned. A lot of the boards on the pool deck are loose, and there are only three deck chairs, and one is broken. There are also a few run-down sheds on the property, and the swamp isn’t the nicest view. The driveway is also very difficult to get in and out of. Overall, though, we enjoyed our stay and appreciated the privacy and amenities the house provided.

House and property were beautiful. Communication was quick and kind. No air conditioning and therefore some of the sleeping arrangements were hotter than others but fans were provided and keeping windows down helped. Would recommend this property to anyone looking for a pleasant stay the accommodates a large group

Home was very clean…comfortable setting…unfortunately due to weather we did not utilize the outdoor amenities but they looked awesome! There were five of us (all sisters) with no complaint about roominess…an added plus was the home was near restaurants and shopping…we would definitely recommend this home.

Everything was clean and orderly when we arrived and our stay was pleasant. The house was well stocked for cooking and there were e even towels put out for our pups. The only drawback was a steeply pitched driveway where you have to be cautious pulling out onto a fairly busy road. The property is beautiful and would be a great place to gather in warmer weather. The house is perfectly comfortable and suited our needs well.

Pool was filthy, dead frog, live snake and crawfish. Deep end never cleaned. Pool deck was unsafe- loose boards, hole in deck, exposed edges on plastic trim. Pool liner was drooping down on the east side. Entry porch concrete surface was all eroded, covered by mud soaked welcome mat in a pond of standing water. Stairs on rear deck felt unsafe to use. Kitchen was over-run with house flies. Blue light bug catchers were packed full of dead bugs stuck to the glue. Had micro ants pour out of the wall tile by the kitchen window. Previous renter missed trash pick up and left fully loaded trash cans on the street for our stay. A dead tree fell on the driveway and crushed a mirror near the mailbox. There is a severe drop at the edge off the road where the driveway starts. When wet, we needed to spin the front tires in four wheel drive to get out. The pond was covered in green scum. A trim board rotted off the wall under the french door and your cleaners left the loose board on the deck. I have a collection of photos if you have any questions.

Don’t stay here:I’ve rented many vacation properties over several years and this was the most misleading description/photos of a property. It’s the only time I’ve ever arrived and debated about staying. We ended up staying one night and then left early as we preferred to be back in our own home than there.1. The grounds are very run down. Driving up we drove past the driveway as we saw a run down shack and thought we had to be in the wrong place. It was the property.2. We traveled as a family of 7 and were planning on spending time outdoors. The grounds are very rundown and rickety, 3 disgusting lounge chairs at the pool and dirty furniture you wouldn’t sit on (see photos of all), broken gate to the pool, broken pool deck, broken fire pit. It goes on and on.3. The pool is unheated. I didn’t see this listed in the original listing - if it’s listed it’s in very fine print 4. The “pond” is a swamp.5. The house is very small and dark with little to none overhead lighting. The bench next to the dining table is broken and can’t be sat on.6. Alarms went off regularly over the time we were there. We turned on the oven and the smoke alarm went off. During the night an alarm went off repeatedly in the downstairs bedroom waking up everyone.

I had texted several times during the week to report safety issues with the home.  A man came after two and only addressed a portion of the problem with the driveway and put in a firepit. He said he was returning to work on the pool and never returned.  He also said that the complaints were made in May by a previous renter and never addressed. The driveway was extremely dangerous and almost impossible to pull out of due to large holes by the asphalt of the road. The man that came patched up only a small amount which did not rectify the problem. The pool area was extremely dangerous- gate was falling off and did not close all the way.  There were many boards which were lifted up and created tripping hazards, extremely low water levels in pool, huge dip and crack in the bottom and the liner is pulling away from the sides. The house deck is bowed and the stairs are sloping and very dangerous. The screened in portion - the screens are ripped away from the boards and the bench is broken and we almost fell over. The pool furniture was not what was in the photos.  There were only 3 lounge chairs that were covered with mold and two wood end tables that were rotten.  Only 2 old umbrellas. Staged photos from a long time ago definitely not worth the high cost to rent.

Do not book here!! Safety concerns were shared with VRBO and they refunded our Vrbo fee. The pictures listed versus your reality do not even compare. Our dissatisfaction started when I reached out to the host 5 days prior to our check in regarding window units in each bedroom. We booked our trip many months ago before the reviews about no ac were posted. We reached out to the host and they said that there were ceiling fans in all the bedrooms but they would need to send a local team out to verify the ac information needed. Fast forward to the morning of our arrival and never received an update from “their team.” Not only was one room not equipped with a window unit, (supposed to be in upper 80s during our stay) but the remote for the fan was no where to be found. There was a smaller tower fan in the corner and that was it. Also the windows are taped shut!! Huge fire safety concern! The day before our departure, a local team member came by to take out the garbage cans. He was never contacted by the host about that room and was well aware that the ac unit had to be removed some time ago due to the amount of bugs that were coming in through the unit. He said the remote must’ve walked off with another guest. The pool area has several unsafe boards that sink down when you step on them or are already sunken in. There is no dining table as pictured, two umbrellas and 3 run down loungers. There is also a dangerously broken propane fire pit that the local team member was aware of.

We appreciate you documenting this in detail, and our team would welcome the chance to connect with you directly.

Peaceful and scenic escape to Saugerties

We had a wonderful stay at our rental home in Saugerties. The house had everything we needed—including plenty of A/C units, which were a lifesaver during these hot summer days. The property itself was beautiful. We especially loved relaxing by the pool and watching the blue heron that visited the pond several times. The location was ideal: close to local attractions, charming Hudson Valley towns, and great hiking spots like Kaaterskill Falls. Just a five-minute drive to the supermarket, Starbucks, and CVS, which made things super convenient.A big shoutout to the AvantStay team—they were incredibly responsive and helpful throughout our stay. We’d definitely stay here again!

Blue Heron regularly Visiting Adjacent Pond !

We loved the pool especially - entertaining for the entire family ranging from age 7 months to 72 years. A beautiful blue heron flew overhead often enjoying the adjacent small pond. The house included most all of what we needed though the first floor bedroom was much too small for anything but the bed.
