About this property

Stunning Views in the Serenity Western NH

Welcome to The Barns of Page Hill! Stay in our renovated barn property in the heart of the Lake Sunapee region. Minutes to Lake Sunapee, Mount Sunapee and downtown New London, ski or spend the day on the Lake or enjoy the quiet on the deck as you watch the sunset over the view of Mt Ascutney, VT.

The Barns of Page Hill has 4 bedrooms and 3 baths. Downstairs is an open and bright kitchen and living area with beautiful views of the property.

If you love to cook and get excited about new cooking experiences, the kitchen boasts the AGA stove. A gas, cast-iron stove that is an adventure in cooking as well as a cozy place to dry your ski gear or warm up your slippers on a winter evening. The kitchen counter has bar stools that are perfect for gathering while you make a great meal or just gather for a happy hour snack. The living area has a gas fireplace and the most comfortable couch to relax in front of a streamed movie.

This home has a separate living area in the back of the house for extra space to spread out and find quiet. Near the back living area, there is a separate full-sized fridge which you can devote entirely to keeping your thirst quenched.

The cupola at the top of the house is the highlight of the home. It’s a hike to the top, but once you’re there, you have 360 degree views of the property and can see all the way to downtown Newport.

This home is a perfect place to relax and play while enjoying the wonderful Lake Sunapee area!

Great place!!
This was a great place for a long family ski weekend!! Very clean! Lots of space! Kitchen has everything you will need and then some. Close to Mount Sunapee. The house is very private and quiet. Homeowner communications were outstanding. Would definitely rent from them again!

Lovely. private, and peaceful
We spent our Christmas week here and had a fabulous time. The location is private and serene, yet close to skiing at Mt. Sunapee. The fireplace and the AGA kept it nice and toasty! The AGA stove was so much fun to use - don’t be intimidated! Overall a lovely place to stay and Erin was such a great help and communicator!

Exceptional Lodging and Host!
If you are looking for a perfect spot to stay in the Lake Sunapee area, look no further! Our month long stay at this lovely Newport, NH location was wonderful. This home was beautiful, comfortable, and had an incredibly well equipped kitchen. The AGA stove, although a bit intimidating at first, was pretty cool to use! The open concept kitchen/dining/livingroom was perfect for entertaining guests and the large wrap around granite counter with additional bar stool seating allowed for more intimate conversation during meal prep. All the bedrooms had comfy beds, space to spread out and the bedroom in the cupola with 360 views of the area was spectacular. The bathrooms were modern and had terrific showers. The beautiful new balconies and new sun shade awning on the larger balcony off the living-room was a bonus on sunny days. The outside space was quiet and the large yards around the home were beautifully landscaped and maintained. Our host Erin was terrific! She responded quickly to any questions or concerns we had and made sure that we were happy and comfortable during our stay. This truly was the best VRBO we have ever stayed in.

Wonderful, felt like home
From the first moment we walked into this beautiful home, we felt a sense of joy and happiness the homeowners instilled. From the amazing kitchen to the multiple sitting areas to the spa-like showers, we had the most enjoyable Christmas and ski vacation. We didn’t want to leave.

Thanksgiving Week
It was our first time hosting Thanksgiving away from home. Everything we needed to cook a Thanksgiving dinner was there including huge turkeys walking through the yard almost every day in case we forgot ours and fresh hebs in the garden.. The 22lb turkey cooked in the AGA oven overnight and came out perfect. It's a nice farmhouse style house on a hill in a farming area with up to date modern conveniences. There's a very big yard and the house has beautiful views from most windows. The house is in a very quiet setting. You can't even see a neighbor. Erin responded immediately with any questions we had. The house was equipped with everything we needed and more. It's a nice place to get away and relax any time of the year. It was fun cooking there and our dog loved running around outside in the big yard. Thanks Erin, we enjoyed our stay.

We are a family taking care of the home. This is our family home still owned by my mom Lori where we (Erin, Renee, and Kirt) grew up. Both my mom and I (Erin) live in Scottsdale, AZ. Lori is an RN who grew up in New Hampshire and moved to Scottsdale in 2012. I am a portrait photographer and with my husband Rob and two little kids. My sister Renee and her husband Randy are physicians who own a winery in Southern Illinois. My brother Kirt is an aspiring actor living in LA. We are all pretty spread out, but love coming back to New Hampshire when we can to get together at our family home.

Why they chose this property

This home was purchased in 1988 after my father finished medical school in Memphis, TN and my parents had decided to return to my mother's home town to be closer to her parents and my father could practice rural medicine. The property is just 1/4 mile down from my grandparents -- a very convenient place to grow up! The house itself is a renovated barn. The original farm house was on top of the hill and the intention was to build another home there again, but after three renovations over 30 years, the barn remains the permanent homesite and we love it.

What makes this property unique

The Barns of Page Hill is a place of utter tranquility. The views from the western side of the house are spectacular. The home is close enough to all things you'd like to explore in NH -- from skiing and boating to hiking, antiquing and farmers markets, but you feel a million miles away in your own little world when you are here. It is the perfect place to escape a busy life and relax. The home is a great place for any family to come together. It has a great main area for gathering together, but plenty of little spaces to get away and have your own space.
