Sweet vintage cottage on Mountain View Lake, 2024 updates, next to Lake Sunapee

Mountain View Lake is perfect for swimming, fishing, and kayaking. Sunapee State beach and boat launch and Sunapee Mountain hiking, ropes course, and mountain biking are all right around the corner!

The Acorn reflects its 1940’s origin (720 sq ft and lots of old wood) but has a new kitchenette, updated bath, and a renovated, light-filled second floor that provides 2 queen beds and a full-sized futon. Downstairs bedroom has 2 twins. Relax floating on the water, sitting on the dock, lakeside deck, or outdoor seating area with Solo stove, or enjoying the lake view from the screened porch. WiFi, AC (upstairs), and propane stove for chilly nights. TV, movies, and games along with bath towels and bed linens provided. Drinking water provided, bath water is from the lake. Great dining in nearby Newbury harbor or New London. Max 6 adults.

Acorn - Accommodating an Idlylic

What a charming stay in a vintage cottage, lovingly updated. The views of the lake are spectacular and accessible. Lots to do from this starting point but I decided to kick back and relax - a perfect spot!

Peaceful, Rustic Lakefront Cottage

We stayed here as a family of four (plus our dog), and it was exactly the kind of peaceful escape we were hoping for. The house has such cute, rustic charm. Totallycozy and welcoming, but with the modern touches you need (WiFi).We especially loved early morning paddles on the lake, watching the sunrise over the mountains- absolutely stunning. Coffee on the enclosed porch was our daily ritual, and our dog loved sunbathing on the dock. The location is also incredibly convenient- just a few minutes to Newbury and Sunapee for anything you might need.Carolyn was amazing from start to finish. Her communication was proactive and thoughtful, she even checked in during our stay to make sure we had enough drinking water and to see if we needed anything else.Highly recommend this spot for families, couples, or anyone looking for a quiet place to unwind.
