Kathie was great with communication leading up to our visit and upon arrival! Highly recommend this place. A/C in the bedrooms was wonderful on hot nights! A great cabin right on the lake! Beautiful sunrises too!
The property was great the lake was awesome great place for the 4th they light fireworks for 3 days only problem was we had 1 hot day and no AC in the house just small ones in the bedrooms but still was an amazing stay the rest of the days were nice and cool. We will be staying again.
This was the 5th year we stayed at the sunrise retreat and as always loved every minute of it! Kathie and Bob are the best hosts and I feel like family when staying there. This year was a little different as we had our 10 month old daughter, and she absolutely loved playing in the wolf! Can’t wait for next year!
This house was clean and beautiful with an open concept. The lake was amazing with warm waters and a sandy swim area. The fishing was pretty good with lots of bluegill and largemouth bass. Communication with Kathie was great and she always responded promptly. My family loved the week we stayed on Wolf Lake. Be sure to visit Jones Ice Cream.
The house was just what we needed for our riding trip. We got the best of both worlds with close trails and the lake right out front. Everything was clean and well taken care of and the owners were very nice and responsive to any questions.
Such a great place to take the family and unwind! Beautiful view! No distractions! We love the lake and the fact that this lake house comes with kayaks and lots of outdoor activities. This was our second summer staying here and look forward to returning again.
This house was great. We had so much fun on the kayaks and paddle boat. The kids loved the sand and beach. We brought a boat (there is a public launch), but you can catch 18" bass right off the dock. Kathie was very responsive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend for families, or anyone looking for a good fishing lake.

Sleeping arrangements a little misleading.
No bunk beds. We were expecting 2 bed rooms with queen beds a loft with 2 twin beds to make a king, and bunk beds.
We enjoyed our time boating, fishing, floating, and swimming. It was nice being able to be up on the deck and watching the kids play in the water. With the house in a large no wake zone the kids were able to venture far out and feel safe. There were plenty of toys and games for us when we weren't in the water. A minor drawback was a lack of an outside hose, it just took a little extra effort to keep the sand out. We were extremely fortunate to have a bald eagle on top of the house for some good close ups.
This is a nice family friendly and clean up north lake front Chalet with out the usual rustic décor. The Chalet is located on the West side of the lake in the no wake zone. It provided a beautiful and peaceful sunrise every morning and a safe shallow area for the kids and adults to enjoy the provided kayaks and paddle boat. We brought a paddle board and small fishing boat and beached them right in front of the home. ""FISHING""" everyone caught fish, lots of fish, I caught over a dozen 16 " bass (largest 23") fishing on and off over our 4 days. I also witnessed a 3 ft. pike with an lure stuck in his lip swimming around the lake while paddle boarding. (maybe next time big guy) overall this was just what we were looking for, a tidy home on the lake to spend 4 nights together as a 3 generation family.
* Deck is well used after one splinter shoes were worn by all.
The house was perfect for our needs. Property was peaceful and amazing views. Owner was very nice and very easy to communicate with. Lots of nice days trips as location was near lots of other things to do. Highly recommend.
This was our 4th year staying at sunrise retreat and as always it was exactly what we were looking for. Kathie and Bob are great hosts. Wolf lake will forever be in our family and being able to stay at a place that feels like home is a great feeling. We fished every night to have a fish fry on Friday and of course got ice cream at Jones’ as much as possible!! Can’t wait to be back next year!
Had a great time.. really enjoyed the stay.. We had 7 guys fishing for 2 days on the Pere Marquette and the location was perfect.. The place was everything as advertised..
Our family was very comfortable sleeping seven of us. 3 couples and one individual on the couch. Never pulled bed out of couch to try. Everything we needed was there fir us including kitchen items for cooking. Plenty of seating for family and friends to enjoy. Already booked for next year!!
Great lakefront location, make sure to read all amenities as this location is off grid. Lake is very shallow with lots of seaweed, good for fishing but not swimming… at least not for me.
My husband and I have stayed at Kathie and Bobs for 3 years now, and every time we are always in love with it. Our whole family (50+ People) rent around the lake for a fun relaxing reunion. We always go fishing on The Wolf and caught some monster Bass and Bluegill this year for our fish fry. We can’t wait to return next year!!

Why they chose this property
This cottage has been our family's retreat for the past 20 years. We have enjoyed countless hours of fun, relaxation and being together with friends and family. We want to share this experience with others. Stepping away from the electronic control of daily life and just sitting - watching the lake, listening to the birds, watching an eagle fishing or catching a glimpse of a deer taking a morning drink- this will refresh your being!
What makes this property unique
Every room offers a lake view. The cottage is at the west end of the this all sports lake allowing for spectacular sunrises and quiet evenings as our end of the lake is a no-wake zone. A private drive set off the main road, and distance and privacy between neighbors make this the perfect place to be able to enjoy a Northern Michigan lake vacation without the worries of crowds. You can enjoy isolated privacy, explore the many back roads and trails, or just take in the natural beauty of the area. Ludington, Manistee and Traverse City are all an easy drive for those that prefer to venture out.
