Escape to the cozy comforts of the Chardonnay Chalet, a beautifully wooded property located on a private road—perfect for a relaxing getaway. This charming 3-bedroom, 1-bath chalet accommodates couples, families, or groups, with flexible sleeping arrangements for up to 10 guests. Enjoy real beds: 1 king, 3 queens, and 2 twins, plus a glider rocker and playpen/crib for infants or toddlers.

Located just 3 miles from the boat launch (featuring a small beach), you can easily spend your days on the water or exploring nearby lakes. Bring your ORVs or snowmobiles and ride straight from the cottage to the trails, with plenty of parking for trailers. World-class fishing for trout, salmon, and steelhead is available in the renowned Pere Marquette, Pine, Big Manistee, and Little Manistee Rivers, with excellent pan fishing in local lakes. Golf courses and restaurants are within a mile, and kayak or canoe trips are easy to arrange locally.

Inside, you’ll find comforts for every season: central air conditioning, forced air heat, a pellet stove for cozy nights, a hot tub, and a screened in room. The state-of-the-art Culligan water softener and rust removal system ensures clear, clean water for cooking and bathing. Each bedroom is equipped with a smart TV, and a DVD player is in the living room along with a selection of movies for private downtime. High-speed WiFi keeps you connected, so you can stay in touch or stream your favorite shows.

Security is provided by Ring cameras on the front yard and backyard/shed only. For your safety and comfort. We ask that you please provide an accurate head count when booking.

We really enjoyed staying here - my son, dad, brother, and his sons. The house fit all of us very comfortably, and we enjoyed the hot tub and great views. Really nice place to stay!

We came for a relaxing girls’ weekend and it was just what we wanted and needed! Even though it rained most of the weekend, we had a great time exploring the property and surrounding areas. Thunderstorms in the woods are tough to beat!

Great Fishing Trip with my Son

The rental was clean and had everything that we needed. While it wasn’t right on a lake it was within 45 minutes of many different lakes. Big Star was just a few minutes away. We fished a different one each day and caught nice ones at each lake. The owners were very responsive to needs and questions. Beds and furniture were very comfortable. We were happy with the rental!

Perfect little spot near Baldwin

This was the perfect spot for our crew of 4 fishermen fishing the Pere Marquette for a few days. Very comfortable and nice and close to the boat launches. Thanks for a great stay!

Family & friends fishing fun

The Chateau was very clean and nicely decorated. A warm comfortable home invited us all in to relax. The fishing was difficult but the time spent at the cottage was relaxing and stress free. The hosts had a nice book out with all the instructions and attractions, as well as a nice bottle of wine.

Family fun & a fishing excursion

It was a fairly smooth process for a first time vrbo-er. My husband and son-in-law were doing a fishing excursion in the area, and my daughter, granddgtr and I ventured over to Ludington for some fun. We were all very pleased with the property and have already recommended it to others.

Awesome Cozy Cabin

Wow!! The pictures do not do this place justice. The openness and set up of the cabin as well as the upstair loft was awesome. The property was clean and had everything we needed. The attention to detail was great. The backyard was extremely serene and we had a wonderful and restful time here. We definitely will come back!

Picture perfect

This cabin is absolutely adorable The pictures do it no justice. It is furnished perfectly stocked amazingly cleaned to perfection I truly have not one bad thing or complaint to say about this location. They were just three of us but we easily could have had our entire family and still had enough space to be happy. They are super grateful we found the cottage and so thankful to our host for having a truly beautiful setting that outdid all our expectations.

Lovely Woodland Getaway at Chardonnay Chalet

We love returning year after year to the Chardonnay Chalet! We have stayed here many times and continue to enjoy all the amenities and it just keeps getting better! This year, they installed a new hot tub which was divine to warm up in and relax in the evening. Beds are comfy and the kitchen well stocked with everything you need to whip up dinner. John and Helen are fabulous hosts and readily available if you have any questions or concerns. No, I’m not a relative. This is an honest and sincere review from a regular client. We look forward to our next peaceful retreat at Chardonnay Chalet!

Christmas Break Family Time

We had a great time at this cozy cabin. We spent time relaxing and ringing in the New Year. We also went skiing at Caberfee which was about 45 min away. The beds were comfortable and check in was easy. Directions to cabin were detailed and easy to follow. Plenty of kitchen items to use to make meals in cabin which we did. I hauled my crock pot along but they even had that in their kitchen items. Outdoor grill was used without any problems. Hot tub was great too. Pellet stove was cozy and warm. Although it would have been helpful to have some basic info about the stove and how to run because we never had used one before. Kids loved the upstairs loft area for sleeping too.

Friends trip at the Chardonnay Chalet

We booked a weekend at the Chardonnay Chalet for 3 couples and had a great time. I think we were all wowed when we walked in at how nice the property was inside! The beds were all super comfortable and the house had everything we needed. We enjoyed the hot tub (fits 4) and the fire pit overlooking the pond. It was very quiet and only a short 5 mile drive to Baldwin Canoe Rentals where we rented tubes and floated the river for an afternoon. The kitchen was well equipped and the outdoor gas grill worked great. We did seek out the private access to Big Star Lake but felt a bit uncomfortable taking a swim in-between the two waterfront homes (haha if we were even in the correct spot!) so we didn't venture back. The only other small thing is def. bring your own paper products like TP, paper towel, paper plates, garbage bags etc. The listing states they provide a day or two but I wish I would have brought more. Overall everyone LOVED it and we had a blast. The owner was very quick to return our deposit and was great with communication and quick responses.

We have been looking for a property that we felt had all the requirements for our vacation home. It is our goal to make this your favorite vacation spot too.

We are Michigan residents living in Zeeland. The short drive for us allows us a great vacation spot for a quick get-a-way, less then 2 hours. We are family that enjoys the outdoors and all the beauty that Michigan has to offer. We hope that sharing our home with you is a blessing to your family.

Why they chose this property

We fell in love with the view, nature at its best, especially from the three season room. Our family likes to four wheel and snow mobile on the hundreds of miles Baldwin (Lake County) has to offer. We also enjoy the golf coarse right around the corner. We are close enough to home but far enough away to feel like a vacation. The home offers all the amenities you get at home without the stress.

What makes this property unique

The three season room, beautiful deck and hot tub over looking the fire pit area, open concept home, a huge sleeping loft, 60 inch high definition TV with satellite, and internet. It's just a great location! State of the art water filtration system by Culligan for pure clean, soft water without rust.
