Welcome to Casa Verde, where Costa Rica doesn't just surround you, it becomes part of your everyday. This one-of-a-kind home is tucked inside Tierra Pacífica, a beautiful residential community that gives you the privacy of a jungle retreat with the perks of a resort.
Whether you're here to unwind, move your body, connect with nature, or simply swing in a hammock and let the monkeys do the entertaining — Casa Verde delivers the full Costa Rican experience.

We give our guests full privacy but are nearby and available if needed. You can contact us anytime by phone or message during your stay, and we’ll respond quickly. Otherwise, enjoy the home and the peaceful surroundings.

Playa Junquillal is one of Guanacaste's best-kept secrets — a long, unhurried stretch of coastline that hasn't been swallowed up by tourism. No big hotel chains, no party crowds, just a wide-open beach with beautiful waves, stunning sunsets, and that rare feeling of actually having space to breathe. It holds a Blue Flag certification for its cleanliness and environmental care, and it's an important nesting site for Leatherback and Olive Ridley sea turtles, with local conservation efforts running during nesting season. It's perfect for a long barefoot walk or an afternoon watching the Pacific do its thing. For surfers, the location is a dream — sitting right in the middle of some of the best breaks in Guanacaste, with Playa Negra, Marbella, and Tamarindo all just a short drive away. Just north of the main beach you'll find Playa Blanca, a beautiful hidden cove, and there are hiking trails nearby through the Guanacaste dry forest for those who want to keep exploring. It's the kind of place guests tend to discover and immediately want to come back to.

As guests of Casa Verde, you also have full access to Tierra Pacífica's shared amenities: a pool, jacuzzi, gym, yoga room, and tennis court. And when you're ready to explore, the community's trail network winds through the surrounding nature — ideal for an early morning walk with the birds or a sunset hike through the jungle. And when the beach calls, it's an easy 15–20 minute walk through the trail and out to the road, or a quick 5–10 minute drive. The best of both worlds: jungle in the morning, beach in the afternoon.

Step into the screened-in living room and you're instantly in the thick of it. The breeze moves through, the forest sounds fill the air, and if you settle into one of the hammocks long enough, a troop of howler monkeys will almost certainly pass through. Just off the main living room is a second lounge with a smart TV, also with a hammock — perfect when the group wants to split up and do their own thing. Upstairs, an open-air terrace sits level with the canopy, one of those rare spots that feels equally magical at sunrise or after dark.

The master bedroom is on the ground floor, a private king suite with its own full bathroom. Also on the ground floor, accessible from the living area, is one of the house's most-loved features: a gorgeous outdoor hot-water shower — a little slice of jungle luxury that guests never want to leave. Upstairs are two queen bedrooms that share a full bathroom and a half-bath, giving everyone enough space and privacy to feel at home.

The kitchen is large, well-equipped, and built for real cooking — not just reheating snacks. The whole home reflects the owner's artistic eye: colorful, full of personality, with thoughtful touches in every corner that remind you this is someone's labor of love, not a generic rental.

Scenic and rustic property

If you are looking for total privacy and seclusion, this home has it. However, it is conveniently located within driving distance of amenities. The house is on the monkey highway so it's great fun to watch them travel by the house. The house has plenty of room for families or 2 or 3 couples. The open concept of the central living space may be hard to take if you have an aversion to the Costa Rican bugs and critters that often visit. The kitchen is screened but also somewhat open to the elements. Again, if you aren't used to this, it can also take adjusting to. The property manager is excellent. Georgina is professional, friendly and very responsive. We have stayed in properties that she manages on several occasions and have always appreciated the high level of service she provides.

We're so glad that you enjoyed staying at Casa Verde. How lucky that you were able to spend a little more than three weeks at such a beautiful time of year. We were here in late October and early November working on the garden and the house. I imagine the weather was a whole lot better than it was in British Columbia. The end of the rainy season is so beautiful! We arrived here again shortly after your stay ended. Thank you for treading lightly on the house we love so much! The open concept of Casa Verde is a very important part of what we love so much about our house. We chose to build Casa Verde in this way because we love the out-of-doors and wanted to be able to experience the Costa Rican environment. We also knew that it was important to have protected areas for those occasions when the out-of -doors became a bit more than we wanted. Hopefully you found relief in our screened living room, screened kitchen, screened and air conditioned bedrooms or at the beautiful Tierra Pacifica pool. As coincidence would have it, at this very moment I am looking out at the monkeys you mentioned. This group has a number of very young ones and mamas with babies riding on their backs. So amazing! Also, after walking back from this morning's yoga class at the Tierra Pacifica club, we found a whole bunch of holes dug in our lawn. It appears that an armadillo came around last night while we were sleeping and was burrowing for grubs and other tasty morsels. We must be in Costa Rica. Pura Vida! Oh, and yes, our property manager, Georgina, is wonderful. Again, thank you for staying at Casa Verde. We hope to see you again. Eric and Martha (owners of Casa Verde)

Great place poorly kept

The home is in a safe, gated community with 24-hour security and has beautiful, unique décor, just like the photos. The calming backyard view and nearby beach with a beach bar and turtle release experience were highlights of the trip. The community pool was clean but a bit dated.Unfortunately, communication with the property manager, Georgina, was poor after check-in. Several issues in the house — including a dirty microwave, dusty furniture, a broken coffee pot, a leaking shower, and no hot water — were reported but either received delayed, incomplete, or no follow-up. Power went out one evening, and no check-in or assistance was offered. The family ultimately left a day early due to unresolved problems, especially the lack of hot water, and received no response when informing the manager.Bottom line: Beautiful property and location, but disappointing property management and maintenance.

Super cool, large space

This place is cool. It’s really big and easy for everyone to have space. The main shared spaces are screened (no glass windows) and it did take some adjusting. The bugs take some time too, but made the experience feel more authentic than staying at a culturevoid resort. The bedrooms are nice and comfortable, there are four bathrooms- two with showers- and a full kitchen, which was so useful for our family. The location made it easy for us to explore the amazing surrounding beaches and we could walk for most groceries.

Great spacious location with howlers nearby every day

Was a very nice property. You will need bug spray as the areas to sit are mostly open to the outside world but under a roof. Rooms had AC. Beach was 15 min walk or so but doable. Gate guards were helpful as was property manager. Caution. The surf can get pretty rough there. Plenty of room for kids to play but don’t let them get too far out as there can be significant rip tides. I enjoyed all of our stays in Costa Rica but this was my favorite. Only knock I had was one of the rooms ac units had a mildewy smell which was strong. Aside from that I highly recommend.

Awesome and Unique

My family of 5 (kids aged 9, 11, and 12) spent 7 nights at Casa Verde. It took a little adjusting to the open floor plan but we had it down after a couple of days. It was amazing to wake up early, sip coffee in a hammock, and watch the sunrise. We saw howler monkeys twice and several large iguanas either from the house or on the property. We enjoyed the nature trails. The pool is awesome! Tierra Pacifica is a very quiet property. The gate was always guarded and we felt very safe. We dined at two of the nearby restaurants. Amigos was one. The other was at a hotel near the end of the road. Both had good food and helpful staff. The drives into Tamarindo and Santa Cruz were easy (if you stick to the main roads.) I do recommend getting good driving instructions to find Tierra Pacific the first time. Our flight was delayed and we drove in the dark. It took us a while to find where we needed to be. Beyond that, Georgina was very helpful and we enjoyed our stay.

A Wonderful House and Renting Experience

The caretaker of this absolutely gorgeous house and property made our stay comfortable, peaceful and pleasant. Our favorite part about the layout of the house is that the main living space (with hammocks) opens up to the seemingly endless backyard, filled with birds and butterflies. When you are standing in the backyard you cannot see any other houses and have a fabulous sense of privacy and comfort. In the front yard, you can see the resident howler monkey that lives between Casa Verde and the neighbor's house. The fully-equipped kitchen, master bedroom (with AC), and one of the porches (all downstairs) are completely screened in to keep the bugs out. A 4X4 vehicle is a must if you want to have access to travel to the nearby beaches during the rainy season. The guards at the front gate of the community are very friendly as well. We had the best stay imaginable at this beautiful house and cannot wait to return to Costa Rica and Casa Verde very soon!

Bird lady

This is hands down the best rental we have ever had. You will love the Casa verde. It is charming, comfortable and extremely well-equipped. If you like to cook while on vacation, this kitchen is well planned and easy to cook in. The owner must be an excellent designer and has painted charming plant scenes on the walls. The living/dining space is open on two sides and there are no bugs. The beds are excellent. The house is in a community that is committed to reforestation so there are a lot of tropical birds to hear and see. I have seen at least 20 species of birds from the house. There are nature paths and an organic farm in the community. There is also a club with lovely swimming pools and a jacuzzi. There are excellent restaurants nearby and the beaches are delightful whether you like surf or calm. I will definitely return.

Didn't want to leave!

I just returned from an amazing vacation in Costa Rica at Casa Verde! Where to start? The house is stunning. Between the openness of the main room to the 2nd floor patio, I always felt like I was in paradise. Although there are houses around, I could not see them and never heard anything but the crashing waves in the distance, the birds surrounding the forest around the house, and the howler monkeys making there way through the trees. The house is fully functional with A/C in the bedrooms, a great kitchen and all the little things that make it feel like a home. My favorite is the hammocks that hang and offer a perfect place to soak it all in. I can't think of anything I else I wanted besides a few more weeks at Casa Verde. One of the big things I wanted to mention was how friendly everyone was at Tierra Pacifica. The guards at the front gate were incredibly nice and always made me feel safe at night knowing there was someone watching out for us. The property manager was extremely helpful and bent over backwards to make sure our stay was just how we wanted it. It was like a house within a resort. We had privacy and everything we could have wanted. The pool at Club Arbol was a favorite afternoon hangout for us and being the slow season it was mostly empty. We did laps in the morning in the lap pool and even braved a yoga class right there next to the pool. It cost a whopping 8$ and kicked my butt. As for things to do close by, if you like beautiful beaches and world class surf, this is the place to find it. We visited Avellanas and Playa Negra mostly which are only a 15 minute drive on really bumpy dirt roads. Loved Lola's at Avellanas. Great food and great beach hangout. Next trip we plan to do some more exploring but the truth is we loved being close at the beaches and just wanted to relax. I could write a thousand more things I loved about this vacation but hopefully I've said enough to convey just what a great time we had here. We will most definitely be back next year. We are booked back here at Casa Verde for spring break and already can't wait.

Incredible CR vacation

We had an amazing vacation at Casa Verde and Playa Junquillal. The house is beautiful - it is colorful and comfortable, with everything you need. We had morning coffee on the upstairs terrace where you feel like you're sitting in the treetops. It's also a great place for cocktails made with limes picked from the lime tree in the yard. The living/dining room is open to the outside so you can enjoy the weather and the tropical plants. There are many beautiful beaches a short drive away and Club Arbol, the pool in Tierra Pacifica, is the perfect place to spend a sunny afternoon. Playa Junquillal is a small town but there are a number of good restaurants in the area and everyone we met was friendly and helpful. This is our second stay at Casa Verde and we'll definitely be back!

When not in Costa Rica, Martha and Eric reside in another beautiful part of the world, Vermont. Martha is an artist and Eric is a musician.

Why they chose this property

When we first came to Costa Rica we fell in love with the people and the land. After returning many times we started looking for a place to spend more time. When we came upon Tierra Pacifica, the beautiful environmental estate in Play Junquillal, we knew we had found our Costa Rican home.

What makes this property unique

We love being able to experience both the forest and the exquisite beaches of this beautiful area. There is nothing better than waking up to the howler monkeys that frequent the trees around our house. The town of Playa Junquillal is particularly wonderful because it is small, quiet, friendly and undeveloped. Club Arbol (part of Tierra Pacifica) with its beautiful pool and exercise room is state of the art and a wonderful place to hang out. Club Arbol also has a tennis court and a relaxing hot tub. We particularly enjoy walking the nature trails and roads within Tierra Pacifica and taking morning walks on the beach via the beach trail. We highly recommend the yoga classes which are held at the Club Arbol on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.
