About this property

Head up to our creek cabin!

Nested in the trees, on Christopher Creek, enjoy the opportunity to leave your troubles behind in comfortable summer temperatures. Create memories with your friends and family while sitting (napping?) on the deck as the water bubbles by. If you prefer to move around, there are many hiking trails outside the cabin door, also a short 15-20 minute walk to local restaurants.

This double A frame cabin has one bedroom on the main floor with a full-size bed and a set of bunk beds. The TV room has a pull-out couch, the loft upstairs has a Queen. Two adorable bathrooms with claw foot bath tubs for leisurely soaks, (one has a shower). Towels and sheets are provided.

Kitchen is stocked with pots, pans, blender, waffle maker, coffee and tea provided, basic spices and condiments.

There are two sitting areas on either side of the house allowing separate time for kids and adults; the yard is fenced, dogs (maximum 2) under 30 lbs. each permitted. The fence is pretty short in some area's (~30") which should be taken into consideration.

The temperature can fluctuate during the day in the summer months. We have two split unit HVAC units if it gets warmer in the afternoons. For cooler weather, the same units provide heat.

Your children are welcome, please note the deck and spiral staircase to the loft have open railings and are not child-proof.

We offer WiFi, the TV is available to play DVD's with a small selection provided, or rental options available in the supermarkets in Payson. The Roku is available in guest mode to allow sign-in to your favorite streaming services.

Verizon has a cell tower in the area providing cell service to the neighborhood.

If you have an electric car, we have a NEMA 14-50 plug available for charging.

Our stay was so lovely. My daughter loved seeing all the animals. So much adventuring to do in this area. Starting with the backyard creek! The cabin itself was so cute and cozy- only wish we brought more people with how much room and fun there was to enjoy! We played uno and relaxed on the back porch and watched the elk.

Perfect little end of summer getaway out of the Phoenix heat. The kitchen and bathrooms are well stocked. Kiddos had so much fun exploring the creek, and just a quick drive to See Springs trail for a family friendly hike.

Amazing Getaway

We spent three amazing weeks here and loved every minute. The kids loved the cool bathtubs and playing in the creek. I loved the trees, the comfy beds, and that the kitchen was well-appointed. We all loved the weather and seeing all the animals and the friendly neighbors.

Cabin Stay

We had an amazing time at this cabin! We saw elk every morning from the front yard and elk in the evening in the creek. We were able to walk to the little market and the Landmark as well. The cabin was perfect for our little family and we enjoyed our stay tremendously!

Nice Stay Beside Christopher Creek

We had a wonderful family Thanksgiving at the cabin. We saw elk and javalenas from the deck and our 8 year old had a fun time playing around the creek.

Weekend getaway with family, travelled with my 86 year old mother and husband. Such a cute A-frame home with a Shabby chic style. Spent most of our time on the back portch listening to the birds, elk and cattle calls. Board games filled our evenings, a nice selection to play. The interior was clean and comfortable. Loved the kitchen, plenty of cute dishes and pans, seasonings to cook. The deck furniture was in great shape & comfortable,. If traveling with a person who uses a walker, keep in mind, it will need to be collapsed to enter the bathrrooms. Had very tasty fish and chips at nearby Landmark restaurant.

Cabin weekend

Don't come here (it is too nice we don't want the word to get out)

You definitely don't want to go to this idyllic, quiet spot right next to the creek, with a perfectly cozy place to get away from everything. The perfect weather, communicative hosts, and nice accommodations are not something you should bother yourself with because it would be a shame if we were unable to come here regularly. Avoid this place so we can keep coming back every year.

Relaxing and fun getaway on the creek

This cabin was a lovely stay for me and my two kids to play in the creek. The creek is right outside and lovely to sit on the patio listening to the water. Plenty of space. The outside needs a little love with tons of cob webs but the inside was clean, lots of games and nice little kitchen.

Cabin on the Creek!

View of and access to the Creek definitely make this Cabin a “gotta stay” destination! Very close to local lakes and towns for activities…or just stay there and soak up the forest! Cabin was well appointed—lots of little extras in the kitchen, in case you forgot something! The bedroom in the loft is definitely meant for younger knees (and bladders) as the 2 bathrooms are on the main floor. Beautiful wall of windows in the great room/dining/kitchen area. Awesome back deck allows supervision of the kiddos in the creek or a great place for the evening wine! Definitely recommend.

Cozy Creekside

Cozy,Quaint, Creekside. A-Frame with great layout for a family or group of friends to enjoy separate entertainment or relaxing areas, large great room for group entertainment. Front deck with bistro set, loft balcony with seating for stargazing Great patio with ample furnishings(conversation set, dining, hammock, fire table) overlooking the flowing Creek. Elk came right through the Creek. Bird watching paradise(bring binoculars). Pet friendly fenced front yard. Back is open to Creek and surroundings be prepared to watch young kids and pets. Overall fantastic & would recommend and will definitely be a repeat renter for this Cozy Cabin.

Wonderful stay on the creek!

Very cute cabin right on the creek! The cabin itself is darling and has everything you need. I was especially pleased with the quality of the kitchen knives and sautee pans as I enjoy cooking. If you're used to a pillow top or memory foam mattress, you may want to bring a topper. While the beds weren't "uncomfortable" they could have been more comfortable for our personal preference. Every morning we enjoyed our cup of coffee on the back deck listening to the water. It was so relaxing and peaceful. Peter, the host, was very friendly and quick to communicate and accommodate our needs. Overall we had a very nice stay and would absolutely stay again! Thank you for having us!

Nice Home Near the Creek

We enjoy our stay near Christoper Creek. The access to the creek in the backyard was a big reason why we wanted to stay here. Everything we needed to cook with was provided in the kitchen. The couch is a bit smaller than expected. There is a mouse issue in the kitchen that we contacted the owners about as we noticed a bag of our bread on the ground the next morning with a hole in the back of it, so then we stored all the food in the fridge that was on the counter. The second time it was inside the trash can. There is a hole in the wall in the kitchen that is very noticeable that something is living in there.

Sweet escape

Our family had the best time! Christopher Creek is a quick trip out of the city where we enjoyed the fresh air, easy going vibes, animal sightings, and playing in nature. The house was cozy and clean! We were very comfortable with access to everything we could’ve needed. Our host was was excellent. We hope to return one day!

Why they chose this property

My wife grew up in the valley and has childhood memories stretching from Kohl's Ranch to the White Mountains. We purchased this cabin in 2003 for a place to get away in the summer with our two kids. It holds special memories of travel with our friends and family as a weekend get away. Christopher Creek is a quiet village to enjoy hikes and happy hours. There is nothing like relaxing on the deck on arrival with a soft breeze and the sound of the creek rolling by after a long week.

What makes this property unique

We liked this cabin for two reasons; it's on the creek affording a little cooler temperature, and two separate living area's allowing the kids to enjoy their games or movies in one room, while we enjoyed our company on the deck or the living room by the kitchen.
