About this property
Cozy streamfront cabin nestled in the pines
Listen to the trickling stream from your back porch. Watch butterflies play in the fruit trees. Pick a few blackberries and dip your toes in the water...
Blackberry Cabin is a cozy log cabin set back on an acre of pine and fruit trees in the community of Whispering Pines. The fenced backyard leads to the banks of the East Verde, sometimes a gushing river, other times a rocky stream, where locals wade and catch the stocked trout. Riverbanks are lined by grass, flowers and blackberries which you are welcome to pick! Our property includes a unique stone embankment where swallows and other birds like to zip by, with a steep hill behind leading to national forest land. Watch for wandering deer and elk!
Inside there is an open living and dining area with a fully stocked kitchen - just bring your favorite food! There is a loft bedroom with a pleasant sitting area close to the air on warm afternoons, with room for friends or family in the sleeper couch below. On cool fall or winter nights the toasty wood stove will keep you warm with that lovely radiant heat.
Whispering Pines is a small neighborhood of full time residents and visitors escaping the heat and bustle of the city! It is minutes from excellent hiking trails at Washington Park and various public access points on the East Verde. In addition to proximity to the ever-increasing line up of activities in Payson, it is close to local attractions like Tonto National Bridge, and the towns of Strawberry and Pine.

What a great vacation getaway! It was comfortable, well equipped and the owners made sure we had everything we needed. We didn’t need to bring anything. We enjoyed quiet evenings and mornings outdoors. If you are looking for a peaceful time away, this is the place.
I absolutely love this cabin. It is rustic, quiet, and calm. Every time I visit, I feel myself reset, and am so much calmer leaving. The host is excellent and quick to respond. The creek is so close and most of the time you can hear it from the porch. I will be back. Amazing get-away.

It was a very cozy and calm place with many bells and whistles to cover more than what we needed. Really nice location and enjoyable stay.
Out stay was very relaxing in this cozy retreat! It was very clean and comfortable. The host was very quick to respond to questions and made our stay so easy. Thanks Gabe!
This cabin was so perfect for the cozy and relaxing time I had hoped for! I spent most of my time on the back porch with coffee or wine, just enjoying nature and listening to the sound of the babbling brook in the background. I will definitely be back!
The fireplace was easy to use and quickly warmed the home. We had everything we needed in the kitchen as well as extra bedding and blankets for cozying up on the couch.
Gabe was very friendly & willing to help if needed. The cabin was cute & small perfect for our family of 3. It was well stocked with anything we needed if we needed it, & it was extremely clean. Overall it was a pleasant experience & I would definitely stay at his cabin again!
This lovely cozy cabin in a peaceful setting was tastefully appointed and thoughtfully stocked. It is the perfect place to relax, reflect, and rejuvenate.
My wife happens to be born on Valentines Day, so this was a double special occasion for us. We live in the city, but i am from up north in the rural area and we both needed a get away. We brought our baby boy with us and we couldn't be more pleased unless we could've gotten a little snow The cabin is a lovely little country away, the checkin instructions were easy to follow and we would love to go back together when we can get a sitter for the baby. We played games, made meals together and watched the Bluejays from the porch with our coffee. If you want a little, quaint getaway, this is a great choice and priced perfectly.
Very nice cabin. Wish the bathroom and TV were downstairs. We very much enjoyed our stay.

About the host

My name is Gabriel, I own and manage Blackberry Cabin. Growing up in Scottsdale I have always been charmed by the big pines and the cool wilderness of Payson. I have enjoyed spending time in the area for the last 16 years with my wife and my two young girls - spring, summer, winter and fall - it's all great! We love the wildlife and serenity that we have up in the Rim country.
Why they chose this property
We fell for the cabin at first glance. A log cabin with hundreds of feet of waterfront and our own canyon walls? You bet! Our kids love the running between the cherry trees and picking the blackberries. Spend the day on the river, and then relax in a charming log cabin, we know you will love it as much as we do!
What makes this property unique
Walk right off the backyard into the East Verde river! What is better than that?
