Although I expected the house to be closer to Lake Merritt, it was convenient access to freeway and downtown Oakland. The house was equipped with everything I needed and the host was responsive to any questions I had.

Grandparents visiting

This property was close to our daughter's home thus adding the extra space we needed. Our grandchildren were excited about coming to see us there and enjoyed a special overnight. I did not feel comfortable walking outside at night but could easily walk to restaurants and grocery store during the day. Oakland Museum of California was excellent and an easy walk away.

Lovely Oasis in Oakland

Karina’s place is absolutely delightful. It’s even lovelier than the photos. It was a perfect getaway for my son and I. We walked to Lake Merritt and to Trader Joe’s with ease on a beautiful afternoon. There are MANY amazing shops and restaurants that are walkable. ***WORD OF CAUTION If you’re bringing your vehicle, be advised that the driveway is VERY steep and VERY narrow. Be careful! I would DEFINITELY recommend this place and I would happily stay there again!

Well maintained apartment on a budget

This 1 BR, 1.5 bath apartment has one of the best-equipped kitchens I’ve seen in a vacation rental. If you need more than one bed, the couch converts to a reasonably comfy bed. The free parking is a wonderful perk, but stay at the top of the driveway unless you are very skilled at backing up a narrow hill. 😉 It was easy to get to restaurants and a full size grocery store on foot.

Hidden gem

Karina's apartment is an oasis of tranquility and a hidden gem. The place is light and bright with lots of windows. It is spacious with a large living room, separate dining and a kitchen with an island. There were thoughtful touches such as a walk in closet with hangers and a big mirror. A big plus is there's parking! And in addition, the place is walking distance to Lake Merritt, the shops and restaurants on Grand and Lakeshore Drive. Communication with Karina was easy. My husband and I will definitely stay here again when we visit our daughter in Oakland.

Contemp/modern Gem

Do not let the exterior of the home fool you when you first pull up. Once inside the home is clean and nearly new with contempt modern style. One and one half bath was nice for the three of us. The back yard space is great! HOST was great allowed us to drop off luggage and dog earlier than check in time.. I forgot my toothbrush and toothpaste. The only thing that I would suggest is stocking extra toiletries in the bathrooms. The home was clean except for a bit of hair left in the shower drain. It is well stocked with linen dishes extra blankets and pillows. The faucet handle in the kitchen was missing but it was still operable. The kitchen and bathrooms are nicely updated and the overall decor and Furnishings work well in the space and are functional. We brought cards because we like to play games. Games were not found and we did not ask host for any but it would have been nice to have some handy.. We came to the City for a Giants game this location was perfect not to far away. The Host had a single stem rose in the Kitchen next to the sink freshly cut I thought was nice and welcoming.

Booking and communication with the owner was great until the day of check in. We arrived there after a long day trip with 2 toddlers, parking nowhere to be found, where the owner said to park is not parking space and you can’t even open the door to get out of the car and no street parking around. We did not feel comfortable or safe to drive more around the neighborhood. Called and message the owner no response. While my family were waiting in the car on the street, I went to check out the property and when I opened the door the place smelled very bad. One of our kids has respiratory conditions and no way he could have tolerate that kind of strong smile. So we decided to look for place to rest and luckily found a hotel in better neighborhoods.

This was a good stay. The hosts were kinda and responsive. The house is nice but had bad sound insulation. We could hear the dog upstairs, conversations our hosts were having, and the neighbors had a loud get together that kept us up till late at night on Friday. The house also needs some small repairs like a new kitchen faucet and working cold water in one of the bathroom sinks.It was a good location for us and we appreciated that we had access to parking. The neighborhood is safe but there is a lot of trash etc. on the street in the area.

Great location, great space!

We enjoyed 5 days in this spacious apartment within walking distance of Lake Merritt. The neighborhood is quiet and parking is available. The kitchen had everything we needed and the courtyard offered lovely space to relax in the afternoon sun. Karina was very responsive and check-in and out instructions were clear and concise. Thank you!

Centrally located charmer

We loved the decor/vibe of this place. Spacious and thoughtfully decorated. The kitchen was sooo well-equipped—I brought spices and a nutribullet, none of which I needed! The downstairs patio was so lovely and peaceful, I wish we’d had time to use it more. So nice to let our dog out down the stairs first thing in the Morning. Only 10 Minutes’ drive away from Our daughter, it was fairly convenient. Didn’t adore the neighborhood, but it was mostly quiet. Jerl, one of the hosts, was friendly, helpful, and responsive to the few requests we had.2 notes: their dog, Sushi, whined st night when no one was there. And bed is very soft, a bit too much for us other reviewers have loved it).

Geuinely a great stay

Extremely clean with all provided house supplies easy to locate. Having access to the driveway was really great for avoiding street parking. Also it's a great place to stay if you have little ones they provide small basic furnitures like high chairs and stools.

Really Terrific

We stayed at this very comfortable property for four nights. It’s as the description says - no fisheye lenses or exaggerations. The bed is very comfy, as is the living room furniture. Full kitchen with everything you’ll need. At first we were a bit concerned about the neighborhood, but I felt perfectly safe walking to the store. Our host was remarkable. PG&E shut off the power for a few hours one day, which messed up their modem. Rather than have me wait until it was convenient for her, Karina went to the store, got the new modem and had the WiFi up and running while we were out. She accommodated every request, and did it with a smile. We were very pleased with this property and would stay there again in a heartbeat. heartbeat. convenient for her, Kieran

Comfortable and convenient

Very nice and it was easy to walk to Lake Merritt. I did not rent a car and found it relatively easy to get public transit, including the train to SF. Host very nice and responsive.

Film Noir Festival Stay

Loved the apartment for its charm, neighborhood and comfort. Stayed 10 days and enjoyed our days before going to the festival. Convenient to use Uber, we would come back next year
