Aspen Knoll is a spacious, comfortable vacation rental home in Estes Park located 500 yards from Rocky Mountain National Park, on the banks of the Big Thompson River (great trout fishing!), and across from the YMCA of the Rockies. Larimer Permit #20-NCD0381.
Aspen Knoll is the perfect setting for a memorable, relaxing, fun-filled vacation for the entire family. You’ll love this home’s unique combination of privacy, spectacular views, and convenience.
Plan your trip to Aspen Knoll now! We reintroduced Aspen Knoll as a vacation rental in summer 2019 after years as our private family vacation home. Already one of the top homes on VRBO in Estes Park, guests love staying so close to Rocky Mountain National Park with all the conveniences of a spacious family home.
Wonderfully Private. Nestled against Gianttrack Mountain, the house is the highest home in the development, has no adjoining neighbors, is away from busy roads and attractions, and yet only 500 feet from the river. Open your window to the mesmerizing sounds of rushing snowmelt while your eyes take in the soaring beauty of the Rockies.
Spectacular Views. Aspen Knoll has some of the best views in the area. Rocky Mountain National Park’s snow-capped peaks can be seen from your master suite. Large picture windows on each floor provide breathtaking views unobscured by other homes or power lines. Spend your evenings on the deck watching the sun disappear behind the mountains.
Convenience & Comfort. Aspen Knoll has all of the little extras to help guests just show up and relax. Two living areas provide plenty of space for everyone to enjoy themselves together and spread out when they want. Kids love the first floor living area with its Colorado moss rock gas fireplace, big screen tv, DVD player, Wii, classic console games, and board games. The living area connects to the children’s bedroom (full-size bunk bed + trundle) with books and toys, a full-size bathroom with tub and shower, and a second guest room (queen-size bed) with en-suite bathroom and shower. The 1st floor also provides access to an outdoor deck and sitting area.
The living area on the second (main) floor is the hub of the home and unites the entry, kitchen, dining, tv viewing, and sitting areas in an expansive great room. Its focal point is the floor-to-ceiling Colorado moss rock and log hearth gas fireplace. The great room walks out onto a wrap-around deck with gas grill and outdoor dining area. The main floor also has a bathroom with a shower, laundry room with full-size washer/dryer, and a walk-in pantry.
The 3rd floor is reserved for the master suite which offers the ultimate retreat with its own private deck, jacuzzi bath, king-size bed, and a large picture window overlooking the national park. The master suite also has a tv, humidifier, walk-in closet, and en-suite bathroom.
Kitchen
The kitchen is fully equipped with cookware, bakeware, tools, dishes and utensils to serve a large group and full-size dishwasher.
A large island sits at the center of the kitchen and houses a gas oven and stove/grill with built-in downdraft. You will also have access to a microwave, blender, coffee maker, espresso grinder, toaster, slow cooker, electric mixer, and other cooking gadgets.
Extras for Kids
In addition to free Wifi, this home offers big screen tv’s in both the upstairs and downstairs living areas, a DVD player, free Netflix, a Wii, classic video games, toys and games for the kids, and a telescope to spy on the Colorado night sky. For younger guests, we have a booster seat, kids’ dinnerware, a Pak-n-Play, kids’ snow bibs of various sizes, and snow sleds, all of which you’re welcome to use. There’s also a humidifier in the children’s bedroom.
Each guest room is outfitted with luxury bedding and linens, and we also provide beach towels for swimming (you’ll need to bring a towel to the new water slide at the Estes Park Aquatics Center).
Location
As our guest, you’ll have full access to our entire 12-acre property including our playground, fire pit, grill, picnic area, nature trails, and 480 yards of exclusive access to the Big Thompson River. Note: evening use of the fire pit, grill, and picnic area is subject to prior reservation, but the grill at the house is always available!
Just across the street from Aspen Brook, you can access the world of activities and amenities at the largest YMCA in the world, the YMCA of the Rockies. It offers miniature golf, treetop zip line, bike rentals, horseback riding, tennis, swimming, guided fly fishing, massage, arts & crafts, guided hiking, miles of trails, food, entertainment, and a kids’ day camp.
Also nearby, The Rock Inn Mountain Tavern, a rustic (and very popular) mountain bar and grill, is about a mile down the road. It’s hands-down the best place for a beer and burgers in town.
Aspen Knoll is truly fishing heaven. Walk 500 steps from the front door and you’ll have access to a 480-yard section of private water on the Big Thompson. The river is stocked with rainbow trout, but you’ll also find naturally-reproducing species like Brown and Brook trout in abundance. Or follow the Big T 460 yards upstream to its confluence with Glacier Creek (the edge of RMNP) where you’ll make the hardest decision of your day—whether to fish Glacier’s pools of rumbling pocket water or the lazy Big T as it wends its way through Moraine Park’s pristine meadow with a crown of snowy peaks surrounding you.
