About the host
Hosted by Travis

An artist and creative who is a bit of an extrovert, I love learning more and sharing my knowledge. Technology, nature, art and beauty drive me. I am a traveler who has been to dozens of countries, I speak French and Spanish when I have an opportunity, and love to see the world and meet people. I am up to 43 countries at this point and want to see many more. India, Mexico and France are some of my favorites to visit, when I was younger I hitch-hiked throughout Germany and France and a bit of Switzerland where I was a dishwasher for 7 months living in a concert-cafe. My wife is from Costa Rica and we took the year off to live there when our child was born. Joshua Tree has been an inspiration for creation for us, and want to share what we know and have with others since so many have shared with us over the years.
Why they chose this property
When you walk in you see it has high ceilings and a very light, white and airy feel in the living room. We like creating options for your own vibe, hence there are adjustable color LED lights throughout the home that can be changed with remote controls (we default to a warm white, leaving the creativity up to you). Usually, we leave the curtains open during the day as the views are lush and inspiring, lots of trees and green during the summer which of course means shade!
The backyard is huge and has a wooden privacy fence. Outdoors there are five distinct areas:
• A private hot tub spa and barbecue area with modern black and white tiles and artificial grass with easy access to the house.
• A private area on the side with lounge chairs with views of the mountains in the distance and a wall of green with bushes and views of our two murals by female Los Angeles artists ( @muckrock and @carlyveronica on IG ).
• A cozy and private daybed for chilling in the afternoon shade or stargazing at night, great views of the stars out here, you might even fall asleep if it's a particularly quiet and dark night.
• Two comfy hammocks under a huge shade tree in the back (pillows included!).
• The front yard presents our new cactus garden centered by a huge Joshua Tree. There is a blue and yellow mosaic table with four chairs as well as an outdoor couch. Good for breakfast or afternoon coffee as well as viewing the other Joshua Trees out front. There is a swinging chair in the shade, too. At night we have subtle lights, to allow for the stars to shine brighter.
The front facing bedroom has great views of the Joshua Tree while lying in the bed and if you are working remotely picturesque views from the desk out the window as well as a mirrored closet door.
The master bedroom has its own bathroom and a bay window with a table/ desk in it with views of the trees out back and views of the mountains in the distance.
The beds are super comfortable.

What makes this property unique
If you need to work remotely we have 200 MBS internet connection and very good cell phone coverage for all carriers (not all places have this).
We have also have a 50" TV with Roku, Netflix, Amazon Prime and Hulu as well as some games for children.
We are a creative family who are living out in the desert who spent several years living here upgrading it with our design and creative aesthetic. We love AirBNB and to travel for the connections created, and the memories made. Before the pandemic we would have people stay with us in the house which we loved the personal connections.
Some of the larger pieces were created by me, Travis, while traveling to Argentina a few years back. We also have some new mural additions in the back by Los Angeles artists @muckrock and @carlyveronica
We usually have two or three day minimum bookings, but feel free to inquire for a one night booking if you see space in between booked dates.
Guest access
You will have access to the front, the side, the back of the house, the hot tub and two bedrooms and two baths. If you need to do a load of laundry, you can (don't overload it though, not more than half-full).
There is a storage container and a room you won't have access to. We will not be on the property when you are staying here. On Tuesdays, the hot tub cleaner comes sometime between 9 and 5 and you will not be able to use the hot tub for an hour and a half after he leaves for the chemistry to settle.
Other things to note
We sometimes stay at the house and have a few personal items in the space (very minimal), occasionally food in the bottom drawer of the fridge.
It's generally easiest to back out of the driveway and park in front of the wooden gate. There is space to the left of gate as well.
We just updated the spa with tiles. Please be careful getting in and out of the hot tub there is a mat where it’s best to let the water fall as tiles can get slippery. Use the spa at your own risk. Slippery when wet.
