Rancho Loco is perfect for your desert hideaway home away from home. Come rain or shine, Rancho Loco has something beautiful to offer. When it's sunny, drinks by the pool, quiet time on the veranda with a book, watching the sun rise or set and enjoying some good barbecue with friends and family. When it's stormy – get cozy on the couch with a fire crackling away, a home cooked meal with a glass of wine while you watch the clouds roll in over the dramatic landscape, framed by the huge picture windows. Rancho Loco also affords extra privacy with separate living quarters, the cozy & bright main house and the open & airy studio.

Located on its own secluded 20 acres, minutes from Joshua Tree National Park, Rancho Loco offers 360º views with over 50 Joshua trees, yuccas and native desert foliage all on the property. Situated between the two houses is a salt water swimming pool and separate Hot Tub with an observation deck, perfect for sunset viewing, outdoor dining, and maybe even a skinny dip under the stars. Rancho Loco is a rustic modern take of a 1920s ranch house updated to today's standards including solar power as its primary source of energy and water drawn from a private on-site well!

Rancho Loco is a great affordable base no matter what your interests are – rock-climbing, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, model rocket launching [our fave], novel writing or just relaxing by the pool. Quiet time after 10pm. As remote as the place feels sound travels very far and we do have neighbors. We have installed an Noise Aware system.

This is our second time staying at this property love it every time the 20-acre parcel makes it real nice the back house was perfect for my sons when they popped in.. the record player and fresh vinyl made it special getting away from day to day with lack of TV makes the stress go way being unplugged for 4 days was great!!!! sunrise and sunsets were perfect even had a campfire one night for the hell of it... the pool and spa are salt water a major plus for us.... the home is boho rustic can't wait to return hope you enjoy it Mary and Jerry J plus Remo the dog...

As all the other reviews say, this place is excellent. Incredibly private, excellent views out of every window, and several different nice places to sit outside. We enjoyed exploring the property and seeing wild life, the fire pit, the indoor wood stove. Got lots of use out of the hot tub and the pool was very refreshing. The record player tied to the outdoor speakers was wonderful. It was the perfect home base to explore JT national park, and we hope to be back soon!

We loved our time here and would highly recommend for anyone wanted a secluded desert experience! The place was clean, orderly and the beds were comfy. Their pet friendly atmosphere was great and our dogs loved roaming the 20 acres of desert that goes with the house.

We come regularly here. The two buildings are a great choice with comfy beds everywhere. The pool is perfect in a hot day and the hot tub will be great on our winter trip when we hope to return.

We purchased this property after many years of traveling to Joshua Tree as a get-away. It became our home away from home with the space, privacy and solitude that was hard to come by in Los Angeles. The idea of a two hour car drive putting you in a different world creates an invaluable peace of mind.

What makes this property unique

More than just a base for exploring Joshua Tree National Park and the surrounding area, Rancho Loco is a self-contained resort. It provides all the comforts of home in a spectacular setting. Unlike many vacation homes in Joshua Tree, Rancho Loco provides a year round experience due to the salt water pool, which provides the remarkable sensation of cool blue water beneath the hot summer sun and the limitless night skies. The recently added Hot Tub adds a year round experience.
