Historical and rustic. We really enjoyed the ambiance, what you would expect in an old mining town. Comfortable space, bedding and bed were lovely. Walking distance to everything you need. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
What a great place!!! Very cool Victorian decor, looks even better in person than the pictures. Had a great stay only a block from the main town, in the most beautiful setting!!
This was a really nice experience for the whole group. The stay was very enjoyable. The bed in the Teddy Roosevelt room slept wonderfully. The only complaint was that the courtyard was not mowed and taken care off but as it had been raining it might have been overlooked. I would stay here again if I did this vacation again.
My wife and I had a great stay in Silverton CO. At the Silverton Lodge. We were there for a week to see the mountains on side X sides. The lodge room had everything we needed for the week. Kitchen with full sized refrigerator, washer and dryer, comfy bed, great WiFi and living room. The owner (Mark) checked in with us by text msg and introduced himself to us when he saw us outside. Each time making sure we had everything we needed. At the end of our visit we had run out of clothes washing soap. I texted Mark asking if he had some for one load and when we return back to the lodge that evening it was waiting for us outside the door. That was nice!
The Lodge is centrally located in Silverton and an easy walk to the grocery store and all the bars and restaurants. We loved the mountains and would certainly rent here again.

Very nice. Pricey but understood. Problem: the headboard for the bed was elaborate with a recess at the top of the bed which would have worked great for an old-style mattress height but the mattress was elevated, resulting in bonking your head if using the full mattress length or, as we did, sliding lower on the mattress to prevent head injury. I guess u you ou could also wear a helmet to bed. So a nice place to stay, just don’t pick the apartment we were in. Sorry I forget it’s name. Cheers.
When we pulled up at about 10:30 pm, exhausted from having traveled all day, we saw the pentagram hanging over the front door, in the place where a business sign should hang. The idea of staying at a hotel where the signage is the most recognizable symbol of the occult, satanism, and witchcraft, was extremely troubling. We wondered what sort of things go on in such a building where the demonic realm is welcomed.
We were told that the doors to the suite would be unlocked. My husband and I decided to at least go inside to look at it. It was creepy. There were no lights in the bedroom. We felt around in the blackness for a light switch to no avail. We found three lamps and tried turning them on, but they wouldn't turn on. Then I used my phone as a flashlight. I found that one of the lamps was unplugged, so I plugged it in, and it dimly lit the room. The other lamps appeared to be plugged in but would not turn on. There was also an index card with numbers all over it and a note that said, "This just randomly fell off the wall." This card was left by the key. Why would that card accompany the key left for us? Everything felt wrong.
I called the owner. He did not answer the phone. I left a long message saying that we wanted to talk to him. I had also already texted him the moment we arrived. He lives above the rooms but might as well have been halfway around the world.
An hour later, we finally were able to make a reservation at an inn 53 miles away. We left and texted the owner, saying "The pentagram was a deal-breaker." We weren’t willing to subject ourselves to that type of spiritual energy. We lost our money but knew we'd sleep better.
He finally texted the next day, acting like he didn't understand my text, didn’t see the missed call, and had not heard my voice message. The biggest lie was when he denied knowing anything about a pentagram on his building! I sent him a photo of the it and he STILL denied that it was on his building and told me that we must've been at the WRONG hotel! (I have photos and Google street views showing it too, but VRBO reviews don’t offer a way to add them).
I don't have a problem with warlocks or Satanists or people who just really like pentagrams owning and operating a VRBO. But the pictures on the VRBO site need to clearly show this. If he is going to be bold enough to have this on the front of his hotel, then he needs to be bold enough to not conceal this significant symbol to potential guests.
Property was great. Loved the antique furniture. Bed was very comfortable.
Be aware, there is no TV. That wasn't a problem for us and it added to the feeling of being back in time in another era.
The property was everything listed and more. Loved that the location was not on the main street of town. I was in Silverton for a wedding, friends that stayed at hotels on the main street were very disappointed at their rooms and envious of the property I reserved.
There was one review of this property that indicated a symbol on the property. I can understand that impression but is not the full story. The author of that review did not take into account the full context of all symbols and the history of the building. The imagery had nothing to do with anything nefarious at all. The author just did not know the full context and may have been influenced, at that moment, by the travel experience described in the review. Totally fine to stay at this property.
Well supplied/equipped, ground floor suite with kitchen, full bath, backyard/courtyard access and living area. Negatives: no smoke detector in bedroom, courtyard/backyard needed to be mowed and cleaned (e.g., adjacent neighbor who is evidently more of a full-time resident has a flower pot full of cigarette butts), windows do not open, no window covering for front door, living room furniture a bit worn out, and no TV - nothing serious, just a few things for general consideration. Otherwise, all good - would rent again!
This ground-floor historic Silverton has everything needed for two people including a washer/dryer. The kitchen is well equipped. The bed very comforatbale. The period furnishing are idiosyncratic and delightful.
The suite served our needs well. We were able to cook meals or walk to the restaurants on Main Street. The kitchen was sufficiently stocked and the washer and dryer were great to catch up our laundry. Comfortable suite.
Original and intriguing decor, a comfortable setting and convenient to town - everything we wanted in a weekend getaway. My husband and I stayed in the Teddy Roosevelt suite and enjoyed a spectacular master bedroom, comfortable living room and convenient kitchen, all decorated with the most unique selections you can find We rented the Otto Mears suite next door for our friends who were joining us, and they had a comfortable and excellent stay. Only complaint: no measuring cups. But that's not really worth mentioning! Highly recommend staying here for a unique, comfortable and convenient vacation.

Wonderful.
We had a wonderful time. We never did get to meet our host, but the room was just like as advertised. The shower was built for someone without a lot of extra width over 14". Qw had a wonderful time. Thank you. Hopefully we can accommodate this room again.
What a cool building and comfortable apartment. Get the full Silverton experience, wonderful view from the backyard, walk to restaurants. Tim's a wonderful host. Best to use the phone to connect with him, and be respectful of quiet hours (old building, so walls are a bit thin). Had no problems checking in and slept great in the gorgeous bed.
Property was not ready on time. Unit very dirty, dusty, not clean at all. Clean linens in bathroom but that’s all.No privacy either. Large floor to ceiling windows along street and sidewalk. Overpriced for what you rent.
