- If you’re looking for some local places, we’d recommend (due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, we cannot be sure what may be open when you arrive):
--->Little Corporal in downtown Green Lake has the best (and fastest) breakfast around. (They also have Chocolate Shoppe ice cream for summer afternoon cravings.)
--->Cristiano’s has some pretty great pizza, and is close enough for delivery.
--->The Green Lake Conference Center is an amazing place with more than enough to keep you busy. They have hiking, Judson Tower (the tall tower you can see from the lake) - it takes 121 steps to get to the top but the view is worth it! You can get the key from the information center, crafts, beach volleyball, golf, and a beach.
--->If you’re looking to do some shopping, take a 20 minute drive east on hwy 23 to Ripon’s historic downtown, or head west on 23 to check out the Princeton Flea Market and antiquing.
--->There is a bike path around the lake (on side roads and some county highways) a route is in the annual Green Lake Tourist book. (We’ve provided a copy for your use.)
--->The closest grocery store is Crossroads just outside of downtown Green Lake on 23, or head further east on 23 to Ripon for Webster’s. (If it’s sweetcorn season, the farm stand on 23 right before you get to Ripon is the best.)
--->For the Golfers in the family:
**Less than a 5 minute drive west will bring you to The Golf Courses of Lawsonia featuring The Links, which is highlighted in America’s Top 100 Public Golf Courses by Golf Digest. You’ll also find The Woodlands at Lawsonia, which features secluded tree-lined holes and plenty of wildlife, for another fantastic round of golf.
**Just under 10 minutes to the east will bring you to the histori Tuscumbia Golf Course, the oldest golf course in Wisconsin. Tuscumbia features an 18 hole course as well as a 9 hole executive course, which is perfect for families and kids just getting into the game, but provides a fun challenge even to experienced golfers.
