About this property

Housing manager in the park of a castle

Large cottage in the stables of a castle of the Loire.
Located in the large park of the castle of Ternay, the former housing of the Regisseur "is an ideal haven for discovering the Loire Valley and its prestigious homes, the Futuroscope, the Puy du Fou and also taste the wines of our rich terroir . Just at 6kms, the new Center Park "Bois aux Daims" awaits you for water slides of all kinds.
Please note: For the months of July and August and the holiday season this cottage is rented for a minimum of one week and Saturday to Saturday.
This residence is under the protection of the Historical Monuments, the amateurs of old stones will be filled.

We provide bed linen and tea towels for cooking but we draw your attention to the fact that towels are not provided by us, thank you to provide in your luggage.
Outside you enjoy a private garden with barbecue.

Our guests of the house have access to the pool which is shared with the occupants of the castle.
Oil heating is optional depending on your actual consumption based on € 1.00 per liter.
A city tax is charged on the basis of € 0.70 per person per night.
Wood for a small flambé in the living room fireplace can be provided.
We live in the castle next door and will be delighted to make you discover this prestigious home during a guided tour (offered) and give you tips to discover our region.
The cottage must be made perfectly clean to your departure.

Our guests benefit from the superb park of the castle (45ha) with century-old trees, the nature lovers, provided they are silent, can observe the wild fauna (boars, deer, deer, foxes, badgers, squirrels, birds of prey ... ), 40 bird species identified in the park in April 2017.

Our bucolic hosts are not disappointed with their stay in Ternay: the site is famous for its flora (mainly wild orchids and mushrooms of all kinds, if the season and the weather conditions are favorable).

For athletes, the ping-pong table and pool that is shared with the occupants of the castle are available on site, a small cross in the park is ideal to oxygenate. Other activities are offered in the near surroundings.

The cottage is clean on your arrival, it must be restored to your own departure (brooms, shovel, vacuum cleaner and mop are available in the cottage). A meticulous check will be made for the well being of the following guests.

A wonderful New Years get away in stunning surroundings

We stayed at the property at Chateau Ternay for one week over New Year 2024. We were a group of 8 friends looking for somewhere to spend some time catching up, relaxing and celebrating the coming of 2025. The property did not let us down, there was adequate space for relaxing as well and hosting our celebrations. The ping pong table was a fun addition and there is a lovely little pool in the grounds as well (although unfortunately as our stay was during winter it wasn't available, but in summer will be a great facility). The house is set in a vast estate, so we spent plenty of time out and about exploring (accompanied by Loic's two adorable dogs). There are also incredible historic caves to explore near the castle, and Loic gave us a tour of the interior of Castle Ternay as well - he is clearly very knowledgable and passionate about the castle and its history. The is plenty of wildlife around and the setting is perfect for a peaceful retreat in nature. The nearby town of Loudun is a charming place to explore as well as the town of Saumur - which is also not too far away. The property is good value for money, guests are required to pay for the consumption of fuel during their stay - it was a cold week and our amount for consumption was 270EUR, which I believe is around the usual amount. I would 100% recommend the property and we are looking forward to returning.

Super séjour chez les de Ternay :) Loic et son épouse sont très gentils et serviables. Nous étions un couple avec deux enfants, le gîte était très grand pour nous! Le jardin du gite est immense, avec accès piscine direct donc très pratique pour une baignade rapide avant de déjeuner. La piscine est propre et très agréable. Les couchers de soleil sont fabuleux devant le château, c’est vraiment un cadre incroyable. La région est super à visiter, Chinon juste à côté, plusieurs châteaux avec des concerts nocturnes / pique-nique.. ça nous a changé du bord de mer, nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir !

Petit séjour entre copines marcheuses

Accueil très chaleureux des propriétaires du château. Ce lieu chargé d'histoire et bien placé nous a permis de découvrir la région et de faire de belles rencontres. L'endroit est paisible, vaste et en.pleine nature. Npus avons adoré, notamment la visite guidée du châtelain. Nous y retournerons sans aucun doute.

Nach vielen Ferienwohnungen die erste große Enttäuschung

Das Haus war ein Nebengebäude eines Schlosses auf dem Lande. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind weit entfernt, dafür gibt es einen Pool und eigenen Gartenbereich. Großes Problem war Sauberkeit: dicker Staub auf Nachttischen, in Ecken am Boden, im Kleiderschrank. Schimmel in einigen Räumen, große Wasserflecken an einigen Decken, Spinnweben in Ecken und hinter Vorhängen. Kühlschrank und Backofen mussten wir vor der Nutzung reinigen, ebenso den größten Teil des Geschirrs. Den Grill im Garten konnten wir nicht nutzen, er war schmutzig und defekt. Offensichtlich liegt die Renovierung des Hauses schon weit zurück, entsprechend shabby waren die Bäder. Die Poolliegen mit Vogeldreck verschmutzt, ein Eimerchen mit Zigarettenkippen war vor und nach uns da, Glasscherben von Vorbenutzern räumten wir selbst weg. 2. Problem: 2 freilaufende große Hunde. Das war bei Buchung nicht erkennbar. Wir hätten nicht gebucht, da einer von uns Angst vor Hunden hat. Trotz der Zusage des Vermieters, die Hunde aus unserem Gartenbereich fernzuhalten, kam der Schäferhund während des ganzen Aufenthaltes mehrmals täglich u.a. zu unseren Mahlzeiten, legte seinen Kopf auf unseren Esstisch, hinterließ sein Häufchen auf der Wiese nahe unserem Esstisch. Wir sind sehr irritiert über diese Situation. Die Vermieter, auf demselben Grundstück wohnend, waren freundlich, schufen aber keine Abhilfe. Ihre Erklärung: Es ist eben ein altes Gebäude. Wir fanden wir die Kommunikation mit den Vermietern nett, aber wenig zielführend.

Peaceful and beautiful

Authentic old world experience, with elegance and quiet. Owners were very kind and we loved the space. Wifi can't handle more than one device streaming and pool was pretty cold, but we will come again. Loved it!

La vie de chateau

Logis typique des vieilles bâtisses parfois un peu humide. Salon chaleureux avec sa cheminée ouverte (malgré qques reflux de fumée) ou il fait bon prendre un apéro voir y souper. Sanitaires sommaires mais très corrects. Il ne faut pas avoir la phobie des insectes (mouches / araignée ou autres ). Chauffage parfois difficile a régler. Literies correctes. Parc très agréable a visiter a faire impérativement, possible de faire des randos dans les bois avoisinants. Visite du château de Ternay a surtout ne pas rater (compris dans la location). Piscine très originale (pas essayer car séjour d'hiver)
