Come unwind in our Northwoods Getaway, a luxurious 5000 square foot log cabin nestled in a grove of whispering pines and white birch. The beautiful Minong Flowage is only steps away from your front door, just waiting for you to enjoy its great fishing (noted for its northern, walleye, bass, and pan fish) boating, water recreation and beautiful sunsets seen from either deck overlooking the shoreline.

The Totagatic Lodge is also perfectly located, within a half-hour from three casinos, ten golf courses, nearby rivers for tubing, canoing and kayaking, cross country skiing, horseback riding, go-carts, and great opportunities for day trips to Hayward, Cable, Spooner, Shell Lake, Couderay, and Duluth, Minnesota just to name a few.

In addition, the Totagatic Lodge provides a canoe, 2 kayaks and a lilly pad all included with the rental fee. Available for Rental we have a 25ft 2024 TMC Paragon Pontoon boat with 115hp Honda motor for rent. ($1500.00 plus tax per week or $225.00 plus tax per day) and the Totagatic Lodge has 2 paddleboards available for rent ($375.00 for both boards per week plus tax or $75.00 per day plus tax) Pontoon and paddleboards need to be rented for the length of your stay.

Fantastic Setup

We had an absolutely great fall stay. The lodge is spacious and has everything you’d need. Everything was spotless, comfy and perfect for families. The lake and the views do not disappoint. Hoping to go back with the snowmobiles in the future!!

Great Lake house

Our group of three families (six adults and six kids ranging in age from three to eleven) had a wonderful time at Totagatic. Plenty of room inside and out to play and amuse ourselves. Availability of the pontoon and paddle boards to rent is a huge plus. Beautiful fire pit and lake shore. Thanks for a great stay!

Great time with extended family

This is a great cabin for a family vacation. Our group had 13 (7 adults, 6 kids), and we had more than enough space for everyone. The flowage was beautiful, especially at sunset. There was plenty to do in the water (pontoon, lily pad, paddleboards, kayaks, etc) and the fire pit gave a great gathering place near the water each night. Communication with the owners was great.

Fantastic stay

We had a great time at Totagatic. The lodge is fantastic--the pictures in the listing look great but it's even better in person. There was plenty of room for three families to have enough space. The waterfront is perfect for smaller children to swim and play. It's definitely worth the extra fee for the pontoon--beautiful lake for swimming (including off the lily pad or on the sandy island), tubing, and exploring. Thanks for a great stay!

The owners are wonderful to work with and very thoughtful . We were pleasantly surprised to be greeted by a huge, fresh Christmas tree for our holiday visit. Smelled beautiful! They had everything we could have wanted to enjoy our vacation. Just ask if they have it before you bring it with you. The home is well equipped, clean and very spacious.

We loved the home and property. Home was very spacious and perfectly set up. All the ammenities we could want. Everything worked well and instructions were well explained. Very easy to communicate with owner and response was quick. We loved the long family table so we could all eat together. Large pontoon was great for our family to take a sunset cruise. Great family place!

3 generations of our family stayed at Totagatic the last week of July-2020. Weather was gorgeous, and the lodge allowed for each of the families and wide range of kids/grandkids to have space to do their own thing, but also to come together on the main floor. Kitchen/island/dining area was well stocked and spacious enough to allow us all to be together. We rented the beautiful pontoon and paddle boards, and got MUCH wonderful use out of all 3. Bruce's communications about navigating the different areas of the flowage were especially helpful, and Norma's suggestion of Sandy Island was perfect for the little ones. The pedal boat was not working, to the disappointment of one grandson, but there was plenty of other things to do. Especially enjoyed the semi-resident bald eagle to entertain us down by the dock, and the bonfire area nestled under the trees to enjoy the beautiful sunsets. Norma and Bruce were both great to work with, and responded quickly to the few questions we did have during our stay. All had a wonderful time, and would love the opportunity to return at some time in the future.

Beautiful property and lake. Fun watching the eagles around the lake. Plenty of room for 16.

Plenty of things to keep you busy around the property from board games, yard games, fire pit and kayaking. Sandy beach island is a nice place to spend the sunny afternoons. Seaman’s bar was a fun spot for the evenings. Would definitely return!

Norma & her husband was amazingly nice and easy to contact before and when needed during our stay at their home. The place is beautiful and spacious. Time with Family

My family enjoyed their time at this property. There was plenty of bedrooms to house us all with multiple comfortable beds. The gathering spaces were large enough for us to enjoy as a group. The yard was large and it was easy for all ages to get to the dock. We felt well informed of the lake by the owners and all that was offered in the area. Definitely an option for future rentals! Room for everyone

Plenty of room for our 10 adults and 6 kids. Everyone family they had their own space. Hose was dictated for Christmas which was extra special being that’s what we were celebrating. Kitchen had plenty of space for cooking and everyone sitting for dinner. Kitchen. Was stocked with plenty of utinsils , pots, pans, etc. Beautiful place!

PARADISE!

Our family and friends stayed at this beautiful property for a week in July; it fit our large group perfectly and exceeded all of our expectations! We spent every day we were there on the lake (have a great tan to show for it); either visiting Sandy Lake, boating, fishing or just playing in the water on the beach. Multiple nights were spent around the bonfire; making s moors and pudgy pies, sharing stories and star gazing (so brilliant and stunning).One night we even created our own outdoor theater with a projector; such fun! We can't say enough positive things about this great place; Bruce and Norma were so attentive and caring! Memories were made that will last a lifetime; but just incase we will return to paradise!

Our large extended family group really enjoyed the cabin and its amenities. The size of the lodge fit our group, and we especially liked the spacious kitchen and dining area plus the large living room. The furniture was incredibly comfortable and the bedrooms and bathrooms were pleasant and stylish. The location on the flowage was great: it was quiet but only a short boat ride to reach Sandy Island and the dam. The property fit numerous yard games like bean bag toss and the location of the fire ring offered a nice view of the lake.

Beautiful and spacious getaway!

We had a large group of adults together for a reunion and this was the perfect place. There was enough space for everyone to spread out and enjoy time away in the beautiful woods. The house was large and well equipped with everything you need to cook and entertain. We loved time on the pontoon and were able to dock at the sandy island for swimming on a sandy and shallow area of the lake, and dock at the local lake front bar for drinks! We also enjoyed the kayaks that were provided. We would highly recommend this cabin for your next getaway, and we hope to return again!

Beautiful Property!!

We couldn't have asked for anything more, this property was perfect! Norma and Bruce were very friendly and easy to work with. We were new to the area and they were very helpful with information on what to do and what the lake was like. The Minong Flowage is a very nice lake and not busy at all! We rented the pontoon and the paddle boards as well and were on the water every single day! We enjoyed all of the water toys provided as well! We had four families (16 people) and there was plenty of space, one more room would have been nice but we were able to make do. There were lots of common spaces that were able to accommodate all of us which came in handy on rainy days. Overall, our stay was fantastic! Thank you so much!

Great family vacation

We stayed at the Totagatic Lodge for a week in June. We had 13 people and we were very comfortable. The Lodge is modern, clean, spacious, well appointed and it has gorgeous views. The sunsets were a highlight of our trip. Owners are kind and accommodating. Fun day trips nearby. Just an all around great place to take an extended family on vacation. Thanks for the lovely week! Fantastic vacation

Our entire family and extended family went to the Totagatic Lodge for a week in August. We had 12 people and the accommodations were perfect. From the view from the balcony, amenities in the lodge, pontoon, lake, restaurants/bars on the lake, scenery, etc., it was an amazing trip. We would definitely go back and highly recommend the Totagatic Lodge to families or groups that want to get away to a wonderful and welcoming place.

Hello, we are Bruce and Norma Peterson, the owners of the beautiful Totagatic Lodge! We have owned the Totagatic Lodge as our cabin since 1999 and have been renting out our cabin since 2003! Ourselves and our 5 children have enjoyed and are grateful for our wonderful times and memories that we have created and continue to create with each stay. It has made sense for us to rent through VRBO as the children's busy schedules can keep us away. We love knowing other families are creating their special memories spending time together at the Totagatic Lodge!

Why they chose this property

We chose the Totagatic Lodge first, because of the area. We are just far enough away from downtown Hayward to enjoy the beauty of the lake and surrounding woods with out too much hustle and bustle and traffic. The Totagatic Lodge is beautiful inside and out and we enjoy the privacy on a large lot with beautiful lake shore. The Minong Flowage is one of the larger lakes in the area with small "Canadian like" islands dotting the lake, that are sandy and great to shore up to for a swim. The fishing is good, both summer and winter. Great snowmobile trails surround the area. There are also,several places on the lake you can boat to for food or refreshments.

What makes this property unique

The Totagatic Lodge offers privacy. A large lot with wooded borders. But yet, we are 25 minutes from downtown Hayward, an hour from Duluth, minutes to many great golf courses and so much more. We love the spaciousness of the Totagatic Lodge. There is plenty of room for the whole family to be together in comfort whether in the great room, kitchen and dining area or on the large deck. The Minong Flowage offers a bigger lake for boating, fishing, swimming, canoeing and kayaking, and water sports, in the summer. We enjoy ice fishing, boot hockey, snowmobiling and cross country skiing, in the winter. We love it and think you will feel the same after staying at the Totagatic Lodge!
