About this property
Mountain Retreat - Close to NAU & Snowbowl
Perched high above the historic Route 66, our home sits right at the edge of the Coconino National Forest pines—where a nice hike from the neighborhood leads to sweeping mountain views and a glimpse of the Grand Canyon on the horizon.
Whether you’re planning a family trip, a group gathering, or a peaceful nature escape, this home was designed to help you slow down, spread out, and reconnect. Flagstaff is just minutes away, but it’ll feel like you’ve escaped to your own forest hideaway. NAU is only a 10-minute drive, 40 minutes to Snowbowl, and an hour to Grand Canyon National Park. There are a few local treats we’d love to show you upon arrival as well.
From sunrise hikes to sunset views, each day here unfolds at its own pace. So, take a deep breath, settle in, and let the quiet magic of the mountains do the rest. As night falls, gather around the fire pit to roast marshmallows, share stories, and stargaze. The clear mountain skies here are truly something special, you can learn more about them at the Lowell Observatory. Whether you’re visiting for a weekend or a longer stay to soak up Northern Arizona’s beauty, this home offers the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation.
The Space: Bellemont is a small neighborhood outside of Flagstaff with only a few hundred homes. The highest elevation town on the old Route 66. There is a nearby children's park with a basketball court, a nice walking path, and a pond. Plenty of trails for biking, hiking, or running.
Step inside to an open concept living space with vaulted ceilings and a beautiful view of the upstairs catwalk. The primary suite features a king bed, ample dresser storage, and a private bathroom with two vanities, jacuzzi tub, and standing shower. Upstairs, you’ll find three spacious bedrooms, each with at least one queen bed and large closets for easy storage. Downstairs, the basement level includes two bunk bed setups and a half bath, making it a perfect hangout spot for kids or larger groups. All bathrooms are fully stocked with essentials, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, etc.
The kitchen is fully stocked and ready for anything from morning coffee to full family dinners. You’ll find cooking basics like oil, salt, and pepper, along with a wide selection of pots, pans, and bakeware. There’s a full set of dishes, silverware, and utensils. Appliances include a stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator, freezer, and dishwasher, plus smaller conveniences like a toaster, griddle, blender, and hot water kettle. For coffee lovers, we offer both a drip coffee maker and a Keurig machine, along with plenty of mugs to start your mornings right.
For those who choose to stay in, there is a foosball table, an outdoor firepit, ladder golf, and corn hole. There are two dining tables to gather with a stash of games and books. If you need to stay connected, there’s a dedicated workspace, complete with a desk, monitor, ergonomic chair, surge protector, and printer—perfect for remote work or study days. Each of the bedrooms have Roku TVs, as well.
Other things to note: • Due to our dark sky ordinance, outdoor lights must be turned off when you are not outside. • Let us know if you’ll have young children with you so we can prepare appropriate accommodations. • We love pets, but we also do our best to keep the home fresh and comfortable for everyone. If you’d like to bring your furry friend, we allow them with prior approval and a $100 pet fee per pet, per stay. This helps cover the extra cleaning needed. We just ask that you clean up after your pet and make sure no traces are left behind—additional cleaning fees may apply if needed. Thanks so much for helping us keep the space beautiful for future guests! • There is foosball, ladder golf, corn hole, and assorted board games available for use. Please keep the games organized so the next guest can enjoy them too. Our family rented this property for spring break and it did not disappoint! Beautiful home that accommodates all ages! Location is great and it was very clean....not to mention how helpful the host was on giving us suggestions on trails to hike and things to do. Thanks for an amazing stay. We hope to be back next year!
We came with 16 family members ranging in age from 8months to 63years. The home was so spacious and comfortable!! Room for everyone to be together & plenty of spaces to spend quiet time away from the group as well! John is a gracious, thoughtful host! Thanks for a fantastic weekend!!
We rented this home for a group of friends and family who came to celebrate our daughter’s graduation from NAU. There was plenty of room for all of us, home is fully furnished and equipped for all your needs. Neighbor was very friendly! We had a wonderful experience, owner is very easy to contact and responds immediately to your needs or concerns. The location is perfect distance from NAU campus, downtown, everything was only a 15 minute drive. Would definitely choose this place again. Thank you!
Every other year, we rent a house large enough for us, our 6 children, spouses and grandchildren. This house more than met our needs and was the best house we have yet rented for this bi-annual family reunion. It had plenty of space for getting together, as well as bedrooms and other areas for "down" time, when someone needed a nap or just a place alone for a bit.
The house was well stocked with what we needed, in terms of cooking a large Thanksgiving meal and everything else. John was quick to respond to any questions or minor issues that we had, all of which were handled and resolved to our total satisfaction.
The location was superb for outdoor activities and sightseeing, everything we could have wanted or hoped would be the case for another successful family reunion.
I highly recommend this house if you're looking to spend time in and around Flagstaff.

Mejor regalo no se pueden perder la experiencia de quedarse en esta hermosa residencia
We had a great experience here. The property was spacious with lots of room for a large group. There is no A/C, just some wall units. All in all, enjoyable stay!
This was an amazing experience for us. Great house and sooo cozy and comfy. It really felt like a home away from home. The host was VERY responsive and friendly. The backyard view was amazing with lots of privacy. We booked this house for our Grand Canyon and Sedona trip and it was in the perfect location. The higher altitude, for the house location, kept the house cool and comfy even in July. It amazed me to see trees and greens, in the summer. I highly recommend this host and this locaiton!
The forecast was for snow and boy we were happy we had this amazing house to stay at while my daughter and niece had an elk hunt. Instead of just the hunters going on the trip we had the entire extended family with some room to spare. The owner was great, he was helpful and easy to communicate with he even gave us some great ideas for the kids who weren't hunting to enjoy their time. Will definitely use this residence again.
The house was even nicer than we expected. The pictures on VRBO, while decent, didn"t do it justice. Nice high ceilings! Very spacious for our family of 12! The kids 18 mos-7 years had a blast! We traveled to the Grand Canyon, Sedona and Zion National Park while we were here. This was such a great, restful place to come back to. Great kitchen with all we needed. The kids loved the kids room! They loved the foos ball game. U was concerned that the window ACs would not be enough since it was July, but it ended up being adequate.
We loved staying at this property. We had room and were comfortable. There are some maintenance issues within the house that would make this property better for us. The lack of wifi and television was disappointing. We were disappointed that the downstairs bedroom’s Queen bed was broken. Thanks for a wonderful time!
This is our second time renting this home. It was an amazing time. This time we got to enjoy the back yard without snow and grill and play games. Awesome home if you want a little getaway! John is amazing and always available for any questions! Will rent again in future!
The house was nice and roomy, and there was 12 of us with plenty of room for more. Lots of board games to choose from and some outside games too. Would definitely recommend, great location to lots of great hikes.
Nice place tucked at the back of the neighborhood.
This place was very nice and the owner was great. The place was clean and easy to check in and out. The backyard is against the forest and the evenings were beautiful. We sat on the porch at night and just watched the stars and satellites go by. Great stay would stay there again if we need to stay in the area again.
I am a local engineer who moved from Chicagoland in 2008 and fell in love with the area. I met my better half here and we enjoy traveling, snowboarding, skiing, hiking, biking, and camping. We want to share this home with others so they can experience the natural beauty of the high country forest.
