Coral Cottage - Oregon Beach Vacations

Welcome to Coral Cottage, located in Depoe Bay! This quaint, two story cottage offers quick and easy beach access along with a partial ocean view right from the front yard! Coral Cottage has two stories, three bedrooms, and two bathrooms, offering room for up to eight guests and your favorite four legged friend. Park your car and head up to the stairs. Your new favorite rental awaits!

As you walk up to the front door, you'll notice a large front deck with chairs. Be sure to grab a drink and head outside to watch the sun set over the Pacific! You won't want to miss the rich pinks and oranges stretching across the sky.

Head inside, and you'll find yourself in the foyer with the stairs in front of you, if you have little ones, you might want to bring a baby gate or two. The first bedroom to the left, and the living room off to the right. Decorated in beautiful whites and blues, you'll feel right at home while relaxing on one of the three available couches. Gather with your friends and family around the large flat screen TV and catch a movie, or simply sit around chatting after a long day exploring the coastline. Be sure to stay warm with the fireplace, especially during those cold winter months on the beach. You'll be able to enjoy plenty of natural light streaming in through the windows while also taking in that partial ocean view! While staying at Coral Cottage, you'll be able to enjoy DVD movies, board games, Wi-Fi, and cable TV.

The kitchen and dining area is located behind the living room. You'll have a cozy alcove to enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner around. The kitchen has everything you'll need to cook up some quick and easy meals or partake in some delicious takeout from one of the many restaurants in Lincoln City or Depoe Bay. You'll have access to a refrigerator, portable dishwasher, oven/stovetop, microwave, coffee maker, toaster and more.

Passing through the kitchen, you'll find the first bathroom, complete with a shower/tub combo decorated in soft grays and whites. The washer and dryer can be found back here as well, with plenty of room to sort and fold laundry during your stay. Walking back to the first bedroom, you'll find you can access this room via two doors, one from the front door and one near the bathroom. Decorated in soft blues, grays and whites, you'll feel right on the beach while enjoying a good night's sleep on the king size bed.

Head upstairs to find the two additional bedrooms and bathroom. The first area is an open concept with a queen size bed in the corner decorated in whites and grays. There is also a chair and couch which folds out into a queen sleeper sofa. Feel free to relax around the TV after a long day exploring the coast before going off to bed. The final bedroom offers a king size bed decorated in whites and navy blues. There is also a half bath located upstairs.

Head back downstairs and out onto the back deck. You'll find a fire pit for guest use in the backyard, along with outdoor furniture and a propane BBQ. There is also a shower room with a sink on the back deck, perfect for getting all of the sand off before heading back inside!

While staying at Coral Cottage, you'll have to plenty to see and do in the surrounding areas. Head north to Lincoln City and explore seven miles of coastline, or do some shopping at the Outlet Mall. You could even catch a show or get something to eat at the Chinook Winds Casino. Head south to Newport, and explore the Oregon Coast Aquarium or visit Ripley's Believe It Or Not! museum! Holiday weekend get away

Perfect little house for two little families with kids. Beach access was close! Less than 5 mins walk. Kitchen was good over all. Stove vent needs some work and the dishwasher situation was a bit different. But we made it work! I really Appreciated the outdoor shower with a door!! Life saver for sand!!

Great place to relax

A Wonderful House on the Coast

This is truly a wonderful little gem that is super accessible to the beach, nearby towns, and other sightseeing. It is on the smaller side and the "3rd bedroom" with the queen and sleeper sofa is actually the loft area upstairs and connects directly to the 2nd bedroom. It didn't bother us at all but wanted to point it out since it wasn't entirely clear in the initial photos.

Depoe Getaway

Great house, has all you need! Easily sleeps 6 people, might be a bit tight for all to be in the same room at once, though. Walk to the beach is easy and a great little escape from the sand to let your fur baby shake off all their play before getting back inside. Backyard is great for relaxing with a firepit to keep you warm in the winter. Everything worked great, though the heater was hard to figure out and at times would either be too hot or too cold.

Older home decorated nice

Coral Cottage is rustic, decorated nicely for older home, some issues to be corrected, lockbox could not close, had to leave key on table after locking up, only one bathroom, 2 toilets one shower/tub, no grater, all other items included in full kitchen, pillows comfortable, plenty of sleeping arrangements. My twin and our spouses enjoyed our stay, able to get food arrangements ready for wedding reception in Lincoln City. Able to sleep between hectic wedding for my twin’s daughter.

Hazard in the home

We make spaghetti the first night of our stay. The oven unexpectedly did not work. Son #1 tripped on the uneven flooring by the kitchen requiring a trip to Lincoln City ER for concussion and stitches. Even though the listing says there is sleeping for eight, one of our party of six had to spend the stay on the couch as there was no fourth bed for him. Dishwashing soup was a small tester of Palmolive for a week. There was no shampoo/cream rinse/body wash in the main bathroom. We may look for another VRBO.

Upon arrival the property was dirty - tomato stems in the entryway, cobwebs hanging over the primary bed, old food under the upstairs bed plus extensive staining on the carpet and old food debris on glasses in the cupboard. Board games had thick layers of wet sand making them unusable. After one night our family was having breathing problems and decided to reach out to the property manager. They were callous in their responses and offered repeatedly to have the property cleaned but that seemed ridiculous as the property had been ‘cleaned’ prior to our arrival. We had booked two weeks here and sadly, couldn’t stay more than 3 nights. We left and requested assistance from vrbo and the property manager- who reminded us repeatedly that our reservation was non-refundable but did modify our dates to check out a full week early. I anticipated since they agreed modified our dates they would financially compensate us as is customary. We ended up paying to stay for 14 nights and we only stayed 3. I wouldn’t recommend this property to anyone - it needs a thorough deep clean. Plus it is obvious they have taken the cheapest route possible when ‘updating’ or maintaining the property. If I could rate zero stars I would.

All household necessities — from soap and clean towels to dish detergent and laundry pods — were generously provided. The cottage is in a very nice residential location, fourth house from the beach and quiet except for the beautiful sound of the waves. Just on the other side of 101 is Chester's Markets, a well maintained and well stocked grocery store. We were unfamiliar with the Oregon coast and spent our time walking the beach, exploring the various state parks, and hiking at Cape Perpetua. Mornings were chilly and we had two days with some rain, but the cottage fireplace and heater kept us cozy. All in all it was perfect for us, and if we’re ever back in the area we would love to stay again!

Comfy stay during a rainy weekend

Clean unit and stocked with plenty of towels and plenty of kitchen utensils. Electrical outlet in kitchen couldn’t handle both the coffee pot and toaster to be plugged in together and it shorted twice (on wall with stove/oven). Wasn’t a big enough deal to get management involved. One full bath (downstairs) and a half bath upstairs. You could technically use the outdoor shower for bathing. Lots of games to play and movies to watch. Comfortable furniture in the living room. We were quite cozy with the fireplace going all weekend while it rained. There is not a central heating system in this home, just an overhead heater downstairs near the front door. A fan upstairs helped distribute heat to the upstairs from the downstairs heater. I appreciated the plentiful everyday items (napkins, tp, soap, coffee filters, etc) provided. Upstairs bedroom memory foam bed was the best. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would stay here again given the opportunity.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The best feature fo this cottage is the location. It is about 2 blocks from the beach. We had 2 dogs with so it was nice that the cottage was pet friendly. The condition of the cottage was as advertised. The driveway length served us well as we had a couple of vehicles and a boat and all fit in the driveway.The reason I rated the property management company a 2/5 is that we were called less than an hour from the property and told the cottage was not cleaned yet and to delay our arrival by 2 hours. We were driving from Bend, OR and had timed our arrival for the check in time. Only when I complained about the cost of the cottage per hour and having to sit somewhere and wait for cleaning did the property management person offer a slight refund for our inconvenience. Some type of compensation should have been initially offered and I shouldn't have had to bring up the cost issue.

Reviewer Comments: This home had a small deck facing the ocean (2-3 blocks away) with a little view but you could easily hear the ocean, feel the breeze and it was fun to sit outside. Upper bedroom has a full sized bed and a futon. The futon is not comfortable for an adult. Property manager got us linens for this bed, after a phone call, as none were available. Easily parked 3 cars in long driveway. Home was cleaned nicely. Kitchen sink was clogged day 1 but property manager got a roto rooter guy out the next day to unclog the sink.
