We truly enjoyed our stay at Faye and Donnie’s quaint little cottage. The property is beautiful and serene. The area is very quiet and has a spectacular view of the lake. It’s located about five minutes from town and 15 minutes from all the activities and restaurants at NEOC. Faye and Donnie couldn’t have been better host’s. We would definitely stay at this property again and highly recommend it to those considering staying in Millinocket.
The Norcross Cottage was perfect for us my son-in-law and I with his four children ranging in age from 7 to 15. The house was immaculate and well furnished with space for all to eat together, play games, and sleep comfortably. The outdoor setting on a lake with kayaks, canoes, and paddleboat expanded our world even further.Faye and Donny could not have been more welcoming and enriched our stay through their warmth and knowledge.Staying here enabled us to easily access Baxter Stare Park, then return happy hikers to this welcoming setting. A definite return destination!
This cute cottage had everything we needed for a family vacation. Faye and Don are great hosts and the lovely faces of Maine. Good location by a lake and easy access to Baxter state park. Many thanks!
interesting cottage built in 1905; hosts are very welcoming; lake is really pretty, but the mosquitos were epic when we were there; bed linens could use updating; we really enjoyed our stay
A wonderful Maine experience. The cottage is as rich in history as the surrounding land is in natural beauty. Don and Faye are exceptional, and I will return as soon as I can.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stat at this quaint lakeside cottage, tastefully decorated with antiques. It was great to have access to the owners if needed but it had everything we needed so there was no need to bother them. The lakeview was wonderful even though it was a little chilly to spend time outside. We would definitely stay here again if the need arises.
We spent a lovely long vacation weekend with our 3 little girls on the lake. We loved the decor and the books and our kids enjoyed the stuffed animal collection. The kayaking was really very beautiful and the special boat trip around the lake that Don gave us was a very special way experience to cap our stay. It was so nice to meet such sweet, welcoming and acomidating hosts. The girls say thank you for the special rocks they received. We will definitely try to return for another trip in the future. Thank you.
What a delight! Unexpected treasure on our travels. Beautiful and super quiet spot on the water. Lovely home oozing with character and charm.
Easy WiFi and cable as well as books and interesting artifacts all while simultaneously being plenty spacious for us who love to “unfurl on arrival” types. They had everything we needed from games, kayak & paddleboat, and more.
The star gazing/bird watching veranda gave us a beautiful view of the Milky Way. And we found the lakes/ponds to be pure magic.
Loved our sunset time near 5 Lakes Lodge, dinners at the Sawmill and friendly local folk in town
Definitely hope to return!
Went up Fishing in October with my two sons and a friend. Faye and Don are awsome hosts house has everything you need Inside is full off great photos and vintage decor. There are multiple Books and maps about Maine and its history. Wifi ad satellite tv where great.plenty of towels, blankets and pillows for our stay. We caught bass pickerel and fallfish in the Lake the cove is protected from the wind so it is perfect fo kayaking. They just added a double kayak so plenty of boats. They thought of everything from fishing gear to firewood. AWSOME place close to Kathadin with everthing you need 5 stars look forward to staying again.Thank you Faye and Donny
The Short version. UNREAL and you will NOT find a better host then Don and Faye. Don is a wealth of information on the area. Both will interact and much or as little as you’d like. The ONLY pit fall is no laundry on-site and the in town self-service laundry mat (apx 7-miles) isn’t real accommodating. But if I could leave a 6-Star I would!!!!! Thanks Donny (Mr. Perfect, lol) and Faye, we WILL be back.
We had the most peaceful and relaxing stay at this beautifully and lovingly maintained property. Faye and Don were incredibly warm and friendly hosts, and provided us with some fascinating history of the area and home, as well as great tips on where to sightsee. Everything was so cozy and comfortable, and the setting is absolutely picturesque and gorgeous everywhere you look. This is truly a gem of a place and we both can't wait to come back again for another visit, for a longer period of time!
Quiet, cute, comfy. Excellent communication with Faye and David. We loved sitting on the bedroom deck enjoying the view and listening to the birds. A nice central location for activities in and near Baxter. Thanks for a great stay.
Spent one week at this wonderful place that really felt like home. So comfortable, on a beautiful lake and close to everything northern Maine has to offer. Hosts are terrific and we’d definitely consider staying again.
Faye and Donny are amazing hosts. They are available and present and keep to themselves unless you need info or want to ask them about all things local! Wifi was amazing and the house has everything you need on a beautiful cove with ample kayaks canoe and paddleboat! Kirchen is well appointed but a tad ackward. Only potential "issue" is the hpuse is older (historic and very cool also) so dint expect a cozy couch or lounge space etc. We dont stay inside while in the area so it didnt matter and our daughter found the wicker couch perfect for reading while we packed up for the day. I think the hospitality makes up for the age of house but to each their own. Also there isnt laundry...Faye tried to change the listing but it hasnt undated so fyi.
Perfect base camp for a Katahdin hike. Faye and Donnie are fantastic and extremely knowledgeable. Told us where to spot moose and we saw 2 exactly where and when they told us. Lake is full of smallmouth as well
We enjoyed the place - it had everything we needed. The hosts, Faye and Donny, were so friendly and kind. Donny spent a lot of time giving us directions to find ice caves and places to see moose even when we got there quite late the first night! The lakeside location is peaceful and they have canoes and kayaks. If we ever travel to Maine again we will stay here again!
I was a bit surprised by the duplex style accommodations, but it turned out well. Our hosts were friendly and gave us our privacy throughout our stay. I wouldn't think twice about staying with them again.
