Perfect location

Property lived up to the information listed on the VRBO site. Very clean and well appointed. Washing machine worked well and is a must if staying longer than a week. Property manager always available.

Great unit in a great location

For us, this place was heaven. Great quiet location at the end of the property, and great location on the island to get around to see everything (definitely recommend having a car) and the property manager Elisa is fantastic. The only downside for some would be that the beach is fairly windy and the water somewhat rough at times so not ideal if you're looking to spend a lot of time on a beach. Lots of beautiful beaches close by though. And the food at Mezza Luna next door is fantastic!

A piece of paradise on the edge of the sea

The property is perfectly located almost IN the sea - deck time is always a perfect mix of sea breeze and surf. The condo is spotless and very well appointed. The pool is clear, clear, and refreshing. The only thing that might bother some is the slight noise from the resto next door, Mezza Luna. But they are always done by 11pm and the food there is perfection!

Retreat By the Sea

This place was fabulous! We would come back and request this unit in a heartbeat. The view was amazing and it was so relaxing to just sit out on the deck. Elise the manager was great, check in and out was smooth. The condo is well kept and decor is very up-to date. The bed is king size and comfortable. There is a wonderful bakery across the street and a great Italian restaurant right next door. We rented a car so we were able to tour the island and go to all the different beaches and towns. We did not use the pool or the beach on the resort during our stay. We felt very safe and had no problems during our stay. We are not big party people and we really enjoyed staying on the french side. We liked to go out during the day and explore the island, hike, swim, dive and have a nice meal in the evening. We also enjoyed a day trip to Anguilla. The only negative of our trip is we didn't stay long enough.

Wonderful vacation villa

My husband and I stayed at La Caravelle for 12 days. The property was exactly as advertised. Elisa met us at the gate, provided our keys, and gave us an overview of the unit. She also provided drinks / snacks so that we were able to enjoy a travel break before hitting the grocery store. She was awesome!!! The reason I gave the check-in process a 4 vs 5 star rating is because the initial written instructions could have been clearer. There are two entrance gates to the property and we went to the first (side) gate and waited there before we realized it wasn’t the right place. The kitchen was well appointed and everything worked well, and there were several extra items that are not always provided at other VRBOs. The views/deck were wonderful and we especially enjoyed seeing the large yachts moored in the bay. There was a small grocery, a bakery, and several good restaurants within a two min walk. The setup of the villas around multiple pools ensured they were not busy, so it was almost as though the closest pool was a private pool. The beach is wide but not great for swimming, although there are a couple places you could go into the surf. From a drawback perspective, the general area is not the greatest - you can tell it hasn’t fully recovered from the hurricane, but it was not unsafe, there was secure parking, and its location is convenient to key beaches. Also, the bed is extra, extra firm. Even though we have a firm mattress at home, it took us a few days to adjust.

Parfait!!

Amazing location!! Beautiful sun deck with lounge chairs, and patio furniture. Open the gate and you are steps away from the ocean. You can fall asleep to the sound of the ocean waves. 3 of us stayed comfortably in the unit with 2 in the bedroom, and one on the convertible couch. The residence is gated and secure, and also includes a safe inside the condo. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare several meals during the week. The dishwasher and washing machine were easy to use to keep clean dishes, towels, and sheets throughout our stay. This is the end unit in the residence which makes for a quiet retreat. You can also walk next door to restaurant Mezza Luna for delicious upscale mediterranean fare (home made pastas), down a little further to Layla's beach club for music and dancing. Across the street is a delicious bakery with many options for breakfast and lunch (amazing quiche). Next to the bakery is a gas station/market that has everything you need in the event that you have forgotten something. Hotel Mercure is also across the street with a delicious restaurant and bar Les Voiles serving Carribean cocktails and fresh fish. We easily rented a car from the airport and returned it when we arrived back to the airport for departure. Super-U supermarket was a 5 minute drive. Night life in Simpson Bay and Beacon Hill were less than 15 minutes away. Marigot was only a 5 minute drive, and Orient bay only about 20 minutes drive. Elisa was easily accessible prior to our check-in and during our stay. She helped us with all of our questions prior to booking the residence and responded quickly with any questions we had during our stay. Check-in and check-out were easy and smooth. We had everything we needed during our stay and had an amazing time in St. Martin. We hope to return again!! Thank you, Elisa!!

Wonderful house by the sea

The property was perfect for our little family. Loved view and the glass fence around the patio - ideal if you have little kids! The beach was nice and the pool too. Enjoyed the close proximity to excellent restaurants.

Brilliant spot and amazing host

This is a gem of a condo/townhouse. The space is well-appointed, spotlessly clean, and basically IN the ocean. The only down side is for those who may want to swim in the ocean here - it's doable, but not as perfect as the many other beaches on the island. We recommend enjoying the condo, using the pool, your deck, and the beach sand and then heading around the island to enjoy the days at any of the other beaches within 10 minutes drive. The hosts are amazing and everything was beyond perfect! We look forward to coming back again soon.

great vacation

the property was perfect at a great location we stayed for a month and had a great time. The property manger was excellent and the weekly cleaning service was perfect. The island is beautiful with 37 great beaches and numerous great restaurants. we were fortunate to be there during Mardi Gras and had a great time viewing the parade. would definitely return

Perfect Retreat

This apartment is wonderfully situated right next to the ocean and at the end of the Nettle Bay beach. You have a lot of privacy; there’s an attractive back deck, and you can sleep with the sounds of the waves lapping the shore. The apartment itself is very well equipped with quality appliances and tasteful furnishings (I suppose that means it matched our tastes but still…). A lot of thought and care has gone into the layout and contents of this unit. Elisa and Didier were extremely friendly and responsive. A great experience.

Excellent location, great host and wonderful beaches!

Upon arriving at the unit, very late in the evening mind you, Elisa was there to meet us and be sure that we were well setup for the rental. The location, the amenities, the views were second to none. I would like to keep this little gem to myself but I can't help but at tell you how great this place was. Thank you Elisa for making it perfect for us and you can be sure we will be back next year and following years with friends and family. Thanks again for an awesome time!!

Un parcours sans faute

Réservation : Didier a été réactif pour répondre à nos questions. Accueil : Elisa nous a accueilli avec le sourire et pris le temps de nous fournir les explications nécessaires. Elle nous a également communiqué son numéro de portable pour le cas où... L'appartement est confortable et très agréable. Visiblement refait à neuf récemment. Le mobilier est de bon gout, tout comme la décoration. L'emplacement est vraiment excellent : vue directe sur la mer, mais protégé des embruns, pas de passages d'autres résidents devant la terrasse qui donne directement sur la plage. A proximité immédiate de commerces et restaurants. Les promesses de la fiche descriptive sont tenues.

Au début janvier 2016, nous avons passé une semaine au condo "La Caravelle" Emplacement idéal, relaxante, sécurisé. Le condo est très propre et fonctionnel. Great location - highly recommended

We rented this condo in the "Nettle Bay Beach Club" on the French side of the island for our Christmas vacation. It was recently renovated, is clean and very well-equipped with all household appliances you can think of. It has a sleeping room with one comfortable double bed and a sofa which can be converted to another double bed in the living room. From the shady porch you have an amazing view of the ocean - the perfect place to have your breakfast. The "Nettle Bay Beach Club" is a gated community with a private beach. It is very peaceful and safe, with friendly security guards that walk the premises. The owner Mr. Constant is a very nice person, answers mails and questions promptly. The transaction was a very smooth one. And Ms. Elisa, the on site property manager, is also very nice and helpful. Right next to NBBC you'll find restaurants, pharmacy, two car rental companies and a "Monop" supermarket. Across the street there is a bakery (with great baguette), a gas station with a small supermarket and a hairdresser. The two nearby supermarkets are on the expensive side, so better go to the "Super-U" at the Howell center in Marigot. There are cheap buses as well as official and unofficial taxis running along the NBBC and many locals will give you a free ride. It is easy to go to Philipsburg by bus (approx. US$4 p.P.), but to explore the various beaches of St. Martin you'll need a car. Unfortunately there is no radio taxi service on the island, but the local taxi drivers will give you their phone numbers, so you can call them. From the Marigot ferry terminal you can board ferries for day trips to Anguilla and St. Barthelmy (highly recommended!). There are two minor drawbacks however, we want to mention: One of the restaurants is located next door to the condo and in the evening you'll get some noise from the guests and the pizza oven into the sleeping room. The private beach could be kept a bit cleaner by the NBBC management. There are some glass shards left over from former parties. Also beware of urchins on the rocks at the beach. Overall, we would highly recommend the Nettle Bay area in general and particularly this condo.

Relaxing ocean views!

My fiance and I recently rented this condo in the Nettle Bay Beach Club for 11 nights. Prior to our arrival, the owner, Mr. Constant, was always prompt in responding to my emails and was very helpful with any questions we had. The condo was recently very nicely renovated, was extremely clean and well-maintained, had several modern appliances, and had a full wall of sliding doors which opened up to an amazing view of the ocean (which is just steps away from the deck and is very private)! The community itself is very peaceful and safe, with friendly security guards that constantly walk the premises. This condo is on the French side of the island, which is quite different than the Dutch side, so we found ourselves spending more time on the Dutch side, actually, due to the fact that there are a bit more restaurants (and more moderately priced) on that side. However, we did use the condo kitchen to cook several of our meals, and Marigot itself (which is just a few minutes up the street) offers a handful of wonderful restaurants. Probably one of our favorites was La Croissanterie - a delicious breakfast place overlooking boats in the harbor! In addition, Grand Case is about a 10 minute drive away and contains some excellent French restaurants overlooking the water. Our favorite was Calmos Cafe, which is a laid back restaurant/bar with tables right on the sand and live Spanish music 2 nights per week. Overall, we would highly recommend this condo in Nettle Bay! Elisa, the onsite property manager, was extremely friendly, helpful, and accomodating! She spent almost an hour talking with us on our departure day, giving us various suggestions for our upcoming honeymoon to France :) We greatly enjoyed our time in St Martin and in this condo!
