Regina was super nice and helped us get to a car rental place the next morning. If you choose to stay - please get a car unless you plan on staying strictly at this apartment. There’s a bakery and a small convenience store to get some things but I think renting a car is smart. Shower handle fell off every time and the bed was super firm. It wasn’t comfortable for my husband and I but otherwise location was very safe. Also bring small toiletries- shampoo, body wash, mosquito spray.

The villa was nice and the view was as beautiful as the pictures show. We stayed 3 weeks in this unit. Pool was nice, area felt safe with good restaurants within walking distance. The owner was responsive to questions- communication was hard at times due our language barriers. A few things that would enhance the experience in the villa:- we arrived at nighttime and did not have a code to get into the gate. The cab driver was gonna dump us and our luggage outside the gate. Luckily another car came through and we were able to follow behind them.- needs a bbq grill (most other units have one); eating in was not a great option. -could use a regular coffee pot, only had an espresso machine. - wash machine and tv need instructions for use.- fob for gate by restaurant Mezza Luna didn't work.
We came to visit for SXM Festival and were very pleased with our stay! There is a market and a bakery across the street for all your basic needs. The view from the beach is beautiful and you can watch the sunrise over the mountains. We really enjoyed sitting out on the patio lounge chairs and sunbathing. The pool is only steps away and is clean and refreshing. Regina was especially kind and understanding as we arrived early and needed some extra time to check out. 5 stars!
I have stayed in Nettle Bay Beach Club before so knew my way around a bit. Regina's place is clean, neat and comfortable. Great views. The communication was good. The bed was comfortable. It should be mentioned that the bedroom has a room with a shower and a sink but the "bathroom" (half-bath) is off the main room in the unit. Nothing strange but I didn't see it mentioned in other reviews. The area around the unit has restaurants, bakeries, a quickie-mart, etc. The pool was nice. I did go into the water right off the beach and it was nice. I did see broken glass along the beach but this is not a reflection on Regina's place. I would stay here again.
Although the place was impeccable, communicating with the owner was very frustrating. Also, vacuum cleaner never worked, tv impossible to set up, washer very improper and malfunctionning.

Once we gained access to the property we were pleased with the location on the beach and the views. Property was missing some important items such as washcloths, bath soap and shampoo. We had problems with the key fob for the gate into the beach club. The property manager rectified this within 24 hours. This is not a walkable area other than running across the street for basic supplies at the convenience store. Renters should definitely have a car. We were happy to have cleaning service come midway during our stay.
The best way to describe our stay was "disappointing." Communication issues before we even got there--no response to our questions until a few days before our arrival. Check-in was terrible: Regina told us by email that a noon check-in would not be a problem, but the person who met us denied any knowledge of that email. Turned out she was not Regina, but her sister. Cleaner arrived without notice halfway through our stay.Unit itself was very clean, but someone had put away several dirty glasses and a frying pan caked with severely burnt food. Fridge was desperately in need of a defrosting. Both the dishwasher and the oven are directly under an overhead cupboard, so you bump your head on it whenever you use these. Dishwasher was a nice surprise but it was missing its cutlery basket so that had to be done by hand--but the sink didn't have a stopper, so we had to buy one. We are used to having to dry clothes outside, but no clothes pegs in the unit--so we had to buy them, too. Not expensive items, but a nuissance. The ceiling has suffered extensive water damage--we had to move the table away so the paint/plaster didn't fall in our food. The deck was the most disappointing of all: cushions were waterlogged when we got there and never did dry out so we could only use the lounge chairs. The VRBO photo of the deck has been staged--it doesn't look like the photo at all.Much preferred the unit we stayed in the previous 2 weeks--less expensive and no hassles at all.

-Instructions to reach address aren’t as clear as they could be. We got lost and had to wing it didn’t help our maps gave us a hard time. -Key fob is needed to get in and out of complex, which became an apparent issue when checking in and out…had to tail someone arriving and be at the mercy of a stranger when leaving. Fob is provided once in property. I’m not sure if a code to enter at the gate was supposed to be provided to avoid this but it was not stated in the instructions for check in. -Bedroom does not have ocean view but living room does have a nice view of it. -Beach is not exactly swimmable. -Running water slows/shuts off every night at about 11pm returning at about 9am. Our experience was we asked pool man for assistance and he kindly provided us buckets which we filled with water once it became available to save and use at night. Owner is aware water shuts up “intermittently” (again nightly in our experience) and sure they are unable to do much about that (other than possibly getting a cistern) but that info would have been useful prior to booking. Owner stated water was left to mitigate this issue but neither me nor my partner saw water inside/in front of property or in storage room. -Due to difference in location and time, owner takes a few hours to respond. -Had difficulty setting up Netflix with remote. Otherwise, property is clean and spacious. Comfortable for 2 people. Neighbors were friendly and quiet. Kitchen has necessities to cook and clean.
This is my 2nd time to St. Martin but my first time staying on the French Side. If you want to relax and not hang out at night I would recommend staying here. It's a nice quiet peaceful location with a beautiful view. A 25 min drive into Simpson Bay where all the action is. Regina was very prompt with answering and resolving all issues and even came to the house. There was an outlet converter so I was glad I didn't have to buy 1. Although as soon as you walk in the bed is right by the door it is in a gated community and a security guard. A good stay if you have kids as they have space to play and run around outside. Even though the pool is a few steps away I didn't get a chance to go. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 bc there was no full body mirror, the shower handle fell off, I didn't use the in shower caddy bc it was rusted, the TV wouldn't turn on, the key fob for the gate may need to have the battery replaced, there is no natural light / windows in the bedroom area.

This space is very clean and nicely decorated. However, a pool blocks most of the ocean view from the deck; that's not pictured in the listed photos.

Great beach-front place to stay, but nearly all rock entry into the sea
This place is lovely -- has everything you need, except for a dish washer. So, hubbies, bring some rubber gloves so that you don't get "dish-pan" hands from doing dishes.
There is one big negative about the place. It is beach front, but the beach is covered with broken glass, pottery, etc., from the hurricane 18 mos. ago. Your entry into the water is rocky from the beachfront until quite a ways out. It's nearly impossible to enter the water. Bring your rubber-soled water shoes if you want to try. The pool is nearly right in back of this place and it looked like they were getting ready to refurbish it. It's closed right now until that happens. Also, know that Regina, your wonderful hostess, does not speak english. She'll look words up on her phone and may eventually turn you over to someone she calls that speaks english, so not a real problem.

Peaceful Beachfront Retreat
We stayed for 13 days and really enjoyed the unit.
The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was fine, there was plenty of closet space and storage, the kitchen was fully equipped, with all amenities, including a dishwasher, microwave and induction stove top. There is a flat screen TV with cable (but, only French stations). WIFI works, but, is slow.
The outside deck is nice, and the barbecue is great to have.
One downside was the lack of any direction on how things worked, like the washing machine, dishwasher, TV and garbage collection. The owner only speaks French. It took us about three days to figure everything out.
For shopping we recommend Carrefour.
Also, you should rent a car.
The beach is OK, but, not good for swimming. The pool in fine.
All in all, we recommend the unit and the Nettle Bay area for a relaxing vacation.

Lovely place to stay, but owner only speaks French - no English
We have stayed at NBBC twice before, and this condo was nice, too. We were a bit surprised when Regina (whom we had been emailing with in English about this condo) could not speak any English at all when we checked in, and it was a hassle to try to figure out how to communicate with her because we don't speak French. Other than that, this condo is pretty typical of what you would find in this beach club. It is unfortunate that there are low, pervasive rocks and sea urchins in front of all but a couple of the condos in this club. There is one area for swimming, so there is no swimming right outside your door unless you want to swim in the pool, which we didn't. We prefer salt water.
NBBC has several restaurants in walking distance, so that is great. Also, excellent patisserie and pizzeria right across the street, plus Mezza Luna, Ma Ti Beach and Dreams restaurants right nearby, which are all excellent!
WIFI was broken 4 of 9 days, but finally fixed. Just something to know if you plan to only use wifi to communicate with your phone. Also, unless you know how to use European washing machines, you might struggle, as we did, with doing any wash.
Overall, we love St. Martin and NBBC...

Easy, relaxing vacation
This condo was perfect...clean, bright, private with every convenience and close to many great places: nice grocery store, french bakery, pizzeria, bars, restaurants and salon!
Internet wasn't very good and no english channels on tv.
No swimming at the beach, rocky and sea urchins, but it is nice to walk on and the pool was always empty.
Many great beaches nearby...even walking distance: Baie Rouge is gorgeous.
