House was very well equipped and our hostess was charming. We appreciated being so close to the airport with family members leaving and arriving through the week. Insect repellent much needed -we all were bitten
Lovely place and lovely owner. Really lovely decor. Absolutely stunning view up the river , lovely pool and so nice to have the table tennis . Had a lovely stay and would return for sure. Thanks Corrine!
Well appointed, nicely furnished, very comfortable house right on the Dordogne. Country feel but ten minutes to Bergerac conveniences. We explored west to Bordeaux and east to Domme. So much to see and learn.
Corinne and Damien have kept the rustic charm while providing all the modern conveniences needed for a perfect vacation. Guests receive a warm welcome and helpful information all through their stay, but the hosts are also totally non-intrusive. A lovely experience!

We loved having you at the gîte! Thank you so much Bob and Beth!
Corrine was amazing host, house is beautiful, well appointed and ideal for a group of 6 adults or a family with children, great pool and garden. communication with the host was great. the weather was unusually wet and windy for the dordogne in september, but at this property that was no problem, we still used the pool and garden and loved travelling in the area.

Would love to be "along the River" everyday !! it was just PERFECT !
Absolutely do not know where to begin, our stay was perfect in every way!!!
- from the clear communications when booking and pre-arrival advice- we counted on something wonderful - BUT had no idea that it would be as perfect as it was.
Corrine and Damien ( though we did not meet him) have given every consideration as to what their "guests" would need to make them totally "chez soi" and they succeeded 200%
The home is all yours- perfectly set along the side of the calm & beautiful Dordogne, this 18th century farm house has been totally redone and reconfigured. New and luxurious bathrooms and a kitchen that cries out for going to the food market in Bergerac and returning with lots of goodies to prepare. The kitchen lacks nothing - everything you could possibly need.
The grounds are expansive with ping pong table, petanque and badminton all there for you to enjoy !, pool a great plus, and perfectly maintained. Our "spot" was the lovely deck area built alongside the Dordogne- just the place for a glass of wine and some Foie Gras on toast!
We are already considering when to return- it was truly a lovely stay. and Corrine is a jewel- and definitley goes out of her way to make sure your stay at "your home away from home" is PERFECT... and it was !

Oh my gosh Meryl! What an extraordinary review. We would like to thank you with all our heart!! And Damien is so frustrated not to have had the chance to meet you two, as he was very busy with his work that week!! So really, how exciting it would be to see you again as it was for me a beautiful encounter to meet you. And you two are the exact reason why we have decided to have this gîte.
Kindest regards,
Corinne.

Our stay at the “at “Le Gite”
Exceeded our expectations. The Gite was wonderful and had everything needed for a most enjoyable week. We gave the kitchen a real workout and it preformed well. Perfect location close to the city but yet has a country atmosphere. Owners most helpful.

Lovely home from home
We loved the Gite. Corinne and Damien were the perfect hosts, close and on hand to help but never once intrusive a great thing for them to get right and so many owners don’t!
The house itself was in lovely condition, the kitchen is modern and has good appliances and plentiful equipment. The pool was nice and close to the house so easy to keep an eye on the kids whilst relaxing on the terrace. The deck overlooking the river is a lovely spot.
Bergerac is a great little town, plenty of places to eat, drink and enjoy.

A perfect French family holiday
We loved everything about this holiday. Corinne and Damien's house is beautiful and in such a marvelous position on the river. The house has been meticulously renovated. Its a short drive to Bergerac and Bergerac airport so incredibly convenient. Corinne would text daily with information about things going on in the locale which was extremely helpful. We have 3 teenage children and there was plenty to do for all of us (vineyards, markets, canoeing, concerts, go karting, great restaurants etc). The owners are so warm they made it a special holiday. I would definitely recommend anyone to visit this tranquil haven.

A wonderful few days which felt like weeks! It was so relaxing...
From the first email to book... Corinne and Damien (our Hosts) were the most helpful you could ever wish for. They have decorated their Gite beautifully and thought of absolutely everything. The Gite was immaculate, the pool was lovely, the decking area overlooking the river is just gorgeous. Bergerac and the surrounding area (vineyards and mediaeval villages) made the stay even more interesting.
We will definitely return - and that is a first...

Fabulous!!
This really is a 5 star property with 5 star hospitality. From arriving to leaving Corrine and Damien went out of their way to make our stay special. Having stayed in many places this really is one of the best properties, beautifully furnished and fully equipped to make your stay perfect. Bergerac is a walk away and is a delight. Lovely market, restaurants and shops. We can not rate this property and our hosts highly enough and we will be returning, hopefully in the not too distant future.

Our little piece of heaven and home away from home
This is a little piece of heaven on the Dordogne river just outside Bergerac.
it is so peaceful, with an abundance of wildlife, Herons, Black Kites, Buzzards,Jays, Magpies, Woodpeckers, Squirrels, Starlings, Swifts, Butterflies, Lizards, Fish and some smaller birds we have yet to identify.
Our hosts, Corinne and Damien, are such a lovely couple who could not do enough for you, they felt like friends before we got there due to our contact via email, they were friends by the time we came home. Corinne was helpful in suggesting places to visit and with her daily emails informing of us of events in Bergerac.
The gite is beautiful, the kitchen was the best equipped we have ever encountered, the beds were comfortable, there is plenty of room for relaxing and dinning in and outside, the pool was very welcoming as we were so very lucky with the weather, there was Table Tennis, Badminton and a Trampoline for those feeling more energetic, all set in a wonderful garden. The covered decked seating area overlooking the river was just perfect.
A 20 minute walk and you were at the port in the old town of Bergerac.
We can not wait to return to our little piece of heaven, I highly recommend you give this a try, you will not want to go home, we didn't.

Beautiful Accommodation with fabulous views
Our family stayed at this wonderful Gite (which is more like a villa) in June 2016 for two weeks. The Gite was perfect, beautifully furnished and exceptionally clean, with interesting classic antique furnishings for the most which had a shabby chique feel. The heated pool was a great asset, especially when it was 30 degrees in the sunshine, although there was plenty of shade with trees to sit under or the pergola at the end of the garden looking onto the river with it's lovely views.
The Gite was well equipped with satellite TV in the main room and French channels on the TVs in the bedrooms. DVD player in the children's bedroom.
Lots of facilities for children (and some adults too) in the garden such as table tennis, badminton and a very large trampoline. there are also two bikes in the garage that the owners kindly let us use.
The owners Corrine and Damien were very welcoming and had bought some groceries, fruit and bread on our arrival and also a very kind gift of flowers and champagne for our 30th wedding anniversary. Also Corrine was very kind in taking the time to email me on a daily basis with suggestions of places to visit or letting me know where there was a market etc. on specific days. this was really helpful.
The airport is very convenient and only five minutes away by car, it is a very small airport with limited flights which do not bother you in the Gite at all (only a couple of flights a day).
Bergerac is about a brisk 20 minute walk from the Gite, there is a busy road with no pavement to walk on for part of the walk, which is a little off putting but not too bad. However, by car the town is 5 minutes and there is lots of free parking available. There are many supermarkets nearby, so there is plenty of choice. The Intermarche has a petrol station at the rear where the prices are very good compared to some service stations. Bergerac and the surrounding area is beautiful, lots to see and do. You shouldn't miss a visit to Monbazzilac to visit the Chateau and partake in some wine tasting, by the way you can see the Chateau all lit up from the Gite in the evening it looks wonderful.
Overall I would highly recommend this beautiful Gite for a holiday to anyone looking for a relaxing and peaceful holiday in a picturesque environment. We had a wonderful holiday and I'm sure if your reading this and decide to book that you will too.

Fantastic
5 adults stayed in April 2016. From the moment we arrived to meet our wonderful hostess we were thrilled with the gite. The position is incredible, on the banks of the Dordogne. It's quiet and relaxing and the gite has been restored to the highest quality with every thing holiday makers need. Corrine sent us emails daily with activities, like markets in the area etc,. She reserved restaurants for us, and was the perfect hostess. I cannot recu omen this gite highly enough.

Truly an Exceptional Property
This is simply an exceptional property with wonderful hosts. We have stayed in many places using VRBO and this is one of the finest that we have been in. The pictures are accurate to understating how spacious and comfortable everything is. No detail has been left out. The house itself is extremely quiet and private being well set back from the road on a large acreage and set right against the Dordonne River for wonderful views. Corinne and Damien are right next door if needed but given the physical separation of the houses and being so nicely landscaped and fenced you don't even know there are there. The house instruction book is very detailed and helpful for reference both about the house and where to get essentials. The beds are so comfortable and dreamy! Everything was wonderfully new and clean and there are lots of brochures and reference materials for days trips. Corrine sent us a daily text/e-mail to provide suggestions on what is on in the area (e.g. local fresh fish markets) and places to see that aren't as well advertised. We cannot express our thanks for a wonderful time - our only wish is we had dedicated more time here as the Gite and area are so wonderful.

Best gite ever!
We stayed at this amazing gite for 10 days. It had recently been modernised to the highest standard, decorated and equipped equivalent to a 5* boutique hotel. The Gite is even better than its photos, like a feature from a top class interior design magazine! We have travelled extensively and this one stood out as exceptional.
The setting of the gite is beautiful, being set well back from a quiet road and offering complete privacy. The rear garden runs down to the Dordogne river with a covered wooden deck offering stunning views, a lovely pool and outdoor eating areas. Even though you are only 2km from Bergerac airport, it is very peaceful as there are very few flights and the main flight path is away from the gite.
The owners, Corinne and Damien, live next door. They are effortless in making your stay wonderful with daily text suggestions for places to visit locally and forthcoming events.
You are only 5 mins from an Intermarche supermarket and the Place de la Madeleine where there is a patisserie. On Fridays there is an amazing fish market at the Place. 10mins and you are in the centre of Bergerac with superb markets Weds and Sat and a daily covered market.
We celebrated a birthday with Dinner at an excellent Bergerac restaurant "La Villa Laetitia" booked by our hosts.
Monbazillac is only 15 mins to the South with a pretty chateaux and excellent wines. Driving East along the Dordogne you have magnificent chateaux, villages etc. Sarlat is a very popular town with a very large Sat market and quaint streets.
We took the train from Bergerac to Bordeaux for a day's sightseeing which worked very well. It was relatively cheap and relaxing. The trams in Bordeaux with a one day pass meant you could zoom around seeing all the sights and shops. A bonus was the free all day parking at the station.
We flew to and from Bordeaux airport as we could not get flights to Bergerac at the time we wanted. This was fine as the drive to Bergerac is fast and easy once you are on the toll road taking less than 90 mins depending on traffic.
If you are looking for a top class holiday to relax and enjoy the joys and scenery of the Dordogne area then you will not find a better Gite nor more hospitable hosts!

Attractive, comfortable, well located - this house has everything!
From the initial booking onwards we had a very warm experience with our English speaking hostess, Corinne. The moment we set foot in the house we instinctively knew that this would be the best house of our entire trip. It was simple yet elegant, most comfortable and equipped with everything we would need. The location on the river Dordogne with a lovely sit out area on the banks of the river was superb - both quiet and peaceful yet very close to Bergerac so convenient for shopping and eating out. Overall a superb deal.

Opening a gite is above all a family affair! We will be happy to welcome you here!
Why they chose this property
The surroundings are stunning. The view of the river is breathtaking.
What makes this property unique
We built the wooden raised cabin (covered) that overlooks the water offering a unique viewpoint of the Dordogne River. The house is warm and comfortable thanks to its furniture and the Chinese decorations from the most beautiful antiques fairs in Perigord. Each room boasts high quality bedding and a TV.
