Beautiful farmhouse in quiet countryside, idyllic setting, private 12x6m pool
La Roche nestles in the beautiful countryside of the southern Dordogne, between Bergerac and the exquisite medieval bastide of Eymet. The 1-acre garden contains a 12x6m private pool with diving depth. A further 9 acres belong to the house, and there are open fields beyond. The white stone farmhouse dates from about 1860 and has been sympathetically and tastefully restored to a luxury level, whilst retaining exposed beams and stonework and other traditional features. Downstairs: Entrance hall with view to upper level; Kitchen with hand-crafted limed oak units, hob, oven, microwave, fridge/freezer & dishwasher; Lounge; 3rd Bedroom; Utility area, with toilet, washing machine & tumble dryer; Bathroom with basin, corner bath & shower. Upstairs: Gallery overlooking hall; two Bedrooms with a/c and en suite bathrooms, second Lounge also with a/c. Garden: Superb views over rolling countryside; Tables & chairs to front & rear of house; BBQ; table tennis; children’s swing & slide.
Security: As ours is a very rural location, we have security cameras around the outside of the house in case of a problem such as a break-in. We follow the Vrbo policy on this, and have made sure that the camera at the rear of the house doesn't cover any part of the pool area.
Travel - Flying: Ryanair and British Airways serve Bergerac (just 10 miles away) from various airports around the UK. Both airlines also fly to other airports in south-west France. There are several car hire companies at Bergerac airport.
Travel - Driving: The journey can be done in a day from Calais, Boulogne or other ports, or you might have a more leisurely start to your holiday with an overnight stop, perhaps on the Loire - we can give you details of places we've stayed in, if you wish. We'll include full driving instructions with our booking confirmation letter.
Climate: The area has a temperate climate, and usually enjoys relatively mild winters with long spring and autumn seasons. The summers here can be very hot - ideal for sun lovers.
Should you wish to discuss your holiday requirements or travel arrangements, or find out more about the house, please send us a message via Vrbo.

About the host
Hosted by Tim & Jenny Warren
We fell in love with France in the early 1990s, when work brought us to live here for a while. After moving back to the UK, we spent lots of holidays in France with our children ... and then in 2000 we found La Roche, and fell in love with that, too.
Why they chose this property
We love the peace of the countryside here, sitting by the pool with a glass of wine watching the sun go down - what could be better!
What makes this property unique
You can sit in the garden and see nothing but the open fields and trees that surround the house; it's the most peaceful and relaxing place we know. And it might sound odd, but one of the things we absolutely love about La Roche is sitting safe and dry under the porch on a beautifully warm summer's evening and watching the rain! We know from guests' comments that we're not alone in this....
