Peaceful Ligurian self-catering country cottage

We had the pleasure of having Esther and Jelte spend a week in Carro in September. September in Carro is a very unique moment just as the autumnal skies cast their spell and the intense heat of the Summer subsides to give way to lovely pleasant Autumn breezes. This lovely couple well and truly explored everything that was to be seen and admired in the Cinque Terre....on foot, boat and train. No small feat! They were the the most undemanding guests....very charming and it was an absolute pleasure to have them stay with us in Carro.

We had the great pleasure of having Jenny and Stefan spend some time here with us in Liguria. They made the most of their time visiting and hiking all around but also relaxing and taking it easy in the garden. They were the most perfect and charming guests and very undemanding. They adapted very well to the natural environment here. I would highly recommend them as guests and look forward to maybe seeing them again some time in the future in Carro!

We've just had the pleasure of having Lydia and Gernot stay at our quiet country cottage in the hills of Liguria. They are a charming couple and enthusiastic hikers even if the weather was not always on their side. They did some beautiful excursions in the very picturesque locations along the southern coast of Liguria. They were most undemanding guests and left the place immaculate.

We've just had the great pleasure of having Andrea, Matthew and their two lovely daughters stay with us here in Carro. They adapted perfectly to the quiet and peaceful surroundings and were able to relax and take it easy before continuing on with the next part of their Italian holiday. They explored some of the nice seaside towns in the surrounding areas during their stay. They were the most undemanding guests always in good humour and a really lovely harmonious family. The place was immaculate after they left....perfect guests! Would be lovely to see them again sometime!

We've just had the great pleasure of having Annette and Tomas stay with us in the small village of Carro, peacefully tucked away in Appenine hills of Liguria. They made the most of their stay, travelling everyday and exploring all the places of interest in the area. Annette and Tomas were the most undemanding couple and it was a joy to have them around. They left the place immaculate. Many many thanks for the lovely and very thoughtful gifts that were totally unexpected but will certainly be put to great use! Hope to see you again!

We've just had the pleasure of having two lovely German ladies stay with us here in Carro. Diana and Katrin are incredibly fit and travelled and walked extensively during their stay in Liguria. They certainly did justice to all the well known destinations, in particular the Cinque Terre where they left no stone unturned!!! They set off early every morning with boundless energy and in the evening enjoyed relaxing sitting out under the trees and chilling out with a glass of wine! They were delightful guests and hope to see them in the future maybe!

We just had the great pleasure of having Marta, Malik and their 2 lovely sons stay with us for almost a fortnight. The little boys and their mother took part in the harvesting of the apples and then I enjoyed their participation as I began the making of my apple jam. They really enjoyed living in the nature which is very much part of life in Carro and I was very impressed by their knowledge of wildlife and I learned a great deal from them! The children had great scope to run around in a very protected environment and when they wished they could spend time at the sea where all the family took the ferry to visit the well-known Cinque Terre. They were a joy to have around…with their contagious energy and vitality. Malik was the first ever guest to make use of the ‘Flintstone gym’ which was built by my son during the lockdown….and this gave me great pleasure. The two little boys really made full use of it too! I had some very pleasant conversations with Marta who was very friendly and gracious and whose impeccable English made communication very easy. They left the place very clean and tidy and I would highly recommend these lovely visitors wherever they go.

We just had the pleasure of having Silke, Martin and Luisa here with us in Carro in the hills of Liguria. They are a most charming family and it was a delight to have them here. They were very undemanding guests, very appreciative of everything and left the place immaculate. The weather was particularly hot this Summer... but they never complained and still managed to do a lot of touring around to all the well-known places of interest as well as the Cinque Terre. They were very engaging and we enjoyed some very nice conversations together... always learning from our visitors! They left us with very happy memories and hope they get to visit Italy again in cooler conditions!!!

We just had the pleasure of having Meike, Ignatz and their 2 lovely children stay with us here in Carro. It was a joy to have them here, a wonderful family and always very polite and very friendly. They left the place immaculate and were perfect guests.

We had the great pleasure of having Helene and her lovely family stay with us for the Easter holidays. The weather was exceptionally good for this time of year so they were able to be out and about all day visiting all the popular locations. They were perfect guests and it was a joy to have them as visitors. They were very charming and friendly and left the house immaculate.

We've just had the pleasure of having Aurelia, Paul and their little 11month old baby stay with us. They were wonderful and charming guests and it was a joy to have them stay with us in Carro. Even though they had a very small child with them, it didn't hold them back from heading to the sea most days and having some exploratory trips to the little pretty towns that are close to Carro. They left the place immaculate and were very undemanding guests. They fitted in perfectly to the rustic and country life that is the essence of this peaceful location.

We've just had the great pleasure of having Sergej, Irina and their delightful family stay with us here in Carro. The children were the best behaved I've ever come across and were always so polite and good mannered. Sergej and Irina are a charming couple, very kind and extremely undemanding. It was really lovely to have them around and hope to see them again!

We had the great pleasure of having Herve', Celine and their lovely dynamic family stay at our property for a fortnight. They were highly organised and came equipped with bikes, motorbikes and a van, ready for all adventures that came their way! They certainly explored the area very well. They were perfectly delightful guests, very undemanding and left the place spotless and immaculate.

Peter and his lovely family were perfect guests. They were extremely polite and undemanding. It was a real pleasure to have them stay with us. They left the accommodation immaculate and I hope to see them sometime in the future.

We’ve just had the delightful Laporte family staying with us for a short stopover on their way back from Rome. They blended in very well to the simple, rustic and peaceful abode that defines this little quiet leafy corner of Carro, Liguria. Their lovely two boys ran around collecting lizards and spikey chestnuts reliving special moments that once were the normal play activities of children in the country. It was a joy and pleasure to share these few days with this lovely family from Aix-en-Provence.

We’ve just had the pleasure of having four delightful guests from France. Mum, Dad and their lovely two boys! You would hardly have known they were around! They took great care of the place and left it immaculate! They put their time to very good use visiting the famous Cinque Terre on foot and by train. As always, I greatly appreciate the sharing of valuable local information from those who come to visit Carro and are able to discover at first hand what activities could be of interest to future visitors. We've just had the pleasure of having with us here in Carro three wonderful guests and their lovely pet. They looked after their accommodation extremely well, were perfect guests and very undemanding! They put their time to very good use and visited all the lovely areas of interest here in the Vara Valley and in particular the Cinque Terre and the areas close by. Christian and Anastassia are evidently very keen and seasoned travelers and very generously shared their new discoveries and local travelling tips on best ways to reach popular destinations which I hope to pass on to my future travelers. I'm very pleased Christian, Anastassia and Valentina enjoyed the lovely peaceful and tranquil setting that Carro offers and look forward to meeting them again!
