The Olives’ House : a spacious and charming two story rural house, with indipendent entrance, nicely and traditionally decorated, with a panoramic terrace looking at the sorrounding country. SPECIAL The house is in Dosso, a charming spot on a hill 4,5 Km from the center of Levanto "The gate to the Cinque Terre". It consists of an entrance hall, 3 bedrooms (1 with a double bed and 2 with 2 beds), 2 bathrooms, a spacious living, a separate well equipped kitchen (natural gas cooker with electric oven. microwave oven, dish washer, washing machine, fridge with freezer, kettle and toaster) and a terrace with a wonderful view.The staircase giving access to the second floor is not suitable for children from when they start walking up to when they are 4 years old and for people with mobility difficulties The house is at short but rather steep walking distance from the public free parking (about 60 meters). Cars are forbidden inside the village and there are no shops. Holidays in Dosso are perfect for those who like the peace of the countryside but at the same time wish to appreciate the sea of Levanto and visit the Cinque Terre. In fefteen minutes drive, you reach the center of Levanto where you can enjoy the beautiful free beaches as well as the private ones (one with swimming pool) if youy don't mind to pay the entrance fee, a nice open air market every Wednesday, a fruit, vegetable and fish small market every day and, of course, shops, boutiques, a cinema, coffee-houses and a great number of restaurants and pizzerias and 3 banks.
The Cinque Terre can be easily reached by foot or by local train leaving very often from Levanto railway station and making stops at Monterosso (5 minutes train), Vernazza (10 m. train), Corniglia (20 m.), Manarola (25 m.), Riomaggiore (30 m.). Wonderful walks connect Levanto to the villages of the Cinque Terre and from one to the other.From Dosso,too, you can take some nice walks: in particular we suggest to go hiking from Dosso to Bardellone and back to Dosso or to continue your walk until the Sanctuary of Soviore and Monterosso; another nice walk is the one from Dosso to Lavaggiorosso and Monte La Rossola from where you enjoy a wonderful panorama of the coast. A short walk takes you to Lavaggiorosso (20 minutes walk - 5 by car) to the restaurant "Da Zita" for a dinner with a typical menu of the countryside. From Levanto, in summer, there is a daily boat service to the Cinque Terre, and Portovenere. In summer there are also special events: classical music concerts, antique markets and crafts, fireworks (July 25) and religious parades (August 16), tennis tournaments, ecc. Levanto is also much appreciated by those who love surfing and windsurfing. Located only 6 km far from the A12 motorway, Dosso is a good starting point to reach several cities of art: Genova, 80 km (74 motorway- it is possible to organize a guided tour of the city, its historical center and the Aquarium), Pisa 102 km (98 motorway), Lucca 100 km (91 motorway), Firenze 160 km (150 motorway) and Parma. Other famous attractions that can be easily reached from Dosso are the coastal towns of Lerici and Tellaro in the Golf of Poets (SP), Forte dei Marmi and Pietrasanta in Versilia and the village of Varese Ligure in the Vara Valley. It is also very interesting to explore the astonishing marble quarries of Carrara (1 hour by car from Dosso) where Michelangelo used to choose the block of marble for his statues!
