The view from the deck and the house is amazing and the ability to walk right to the beach is perfect. The house is well appointed with what you need and the host is professional and helpful. Great vacation home!
A welcome change from the Jersey shore. The house was lovely. The view was spectacular. The location was spot on. I would highly recommend Narragansett. Only wish I could control the weather.
Brian was fantastic to work with, the house was clean and had plenty of room for our family of 10, great private beach is walking distance which made sun breaks and lunches super easy! We've been renting in Narragansett for years, will definitely be back.
Our stay was nothing short of amazing! We have been coming to Narragansett every summer for the 4th of July and this house made everything perfect. We got married the weekend before and spent the week here with our family and I cannot say enough great things about this rental. We will be back!
The house is in a great location and beautifully maintained with up to date amenities. Prior to arrival, we had some questions and the owner was very responsive. Highly recommend.
The house was in excellent condition, clean and well appointed with staples and beach equipment. The location was perfect for trips back and forth to the beach with little ones. We really appreciated the number of bathrooms, the outdoor shower and the yard for the kids to enjoy. The owner was responsive to all questions I had.
We had a wonderful time at this property. Very short walk to the beach. Quiet, family-friendly neighborhood. The home is well-appointed and has plenty of room for all quests. The yard is spacious for lawn games and activities. Beautiful view of the ocean from the large deck. Great location, we enjoyed the town and beach.
This property was nicely maintained. Plenty of room for our larger family. The outdoor areas were well kept including a large deck where we had all of our meals. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. My favorite was the open ceiling outdoor shower after a day at the beach. Overall a great stay.
We had adults and teens in this house and felt extremely comfortable with the amount of bedrooms and the open concept living room. The proximity to the beach made it easy to walk back and forth. The owner was very responsive. We would def rent again. Thank you, Brian!
This house was great for our family group! It was beautifully decorated with a beach theme (of course). It was clean and all appliances worked. The beds were comfortable and bathrooms readily useable. Aside from a couple of burnt out light bulbs, we thoroughly enjoyed the house features and amenities. Many family members talked about repeating this next summer.
Our family had the best vacation week largely due to this incredible house and it’s prime location. We spent many hours looking at the water from the comfort of the deck or window views, and then it was a quick stroll down to the beach, which was located in a less crowded area. The house was very well kept and felt like a true getaway. It is a beautiful and convenient location but away from the hustle of summer tourism. Everyone, a range of ages and preferences, was thrilled with our stay and we would recommend and rent again in a heartbeat. Thank you!
We just stayed at this home and enjoyed our stay tremendously. We spent a lot of hours on the deck watching the boats go by in the harbor and we had a beautiful view of the full moon. It was a quick walk right down the street to access the beach and we were very happy about the outdoor shower upon our return from the beach. The house was clean and there were many creature comforts like AC, pots, pans, and dishes to cook with, wifi, and cable. We had 6 adults so having 3 full bathrooms made everyone very happy and comfortable. I would absolutely recommend this house and would definitely stay here again!
We had a great family trip to Narragansett with our group ranging in age from a toddler, and teens to seniors. The home was as presented in the pictures, but the views of the ocean from the deck were better than expected. We left the sliders open so we could hear the waves crashing. Brian was responsive and helpful, quickly answering questions ahead of our arrival. Check-in is at a local realtor not far from the house. Be aware there is limited parking at the realtor. We were given the wrong keys for the property but that was quickly rectified. There are plenty of beach chairs, toys, etc at the house. The beach is a short walk away and the entrance was flat (no dune to climb over). The house is very close to several great restaurants and other activities. We can’t wait to explore more of Narragansett!

Great location and layout but house needs some work and maintenance
Location is great and layoit was perfect for our family get away. House was not cleaned well, one of the dining room chairs was broken, bulbs were out in various locations, ceiling fan over table very shaky and noisy, and while downstairs main floor was renovated, upstairs is old and tired. Upstairs bathroom in bad shape with bulbs out, towel racks separated from wall. Looks like no one has been focused on maintaining the house overall. Not sure it was worth what we paid. However, grounds were nice and deck was great. Grill had not been cleaned though. Would not go back to this home despite the great location unless someone gave this home some TLC.

I appreciate the positive comments about the house. I have invested tens of thousands over the years making my home a favorite rental destination based on my location and overall quality. The deck you noted was brand new this year. The renovations you commented were all done the prior year. I've also added A/C, new doors/siders, a motorized awning, new/large beds, TV's in 4 of the 6 BR's and many other areas of investment. For all these reasons, as well as the close proximity to the beach, I have countless of pleased tenants. Candidly, you were one of the rare renters who were not repeat for me year over year.
The upstairs bathroom is dated and on my list of renovations this year. I only have so much time in May/June between my winter and summer rentals.
Ultimately, to knock my rating down 2 stars because of a dated bathroom and a couple of broken items is just not fair in my eyes. You sent me a note about the cleaning, broken chair and towel rack within the first couple hours of your stay. I was willing to send cleaners back and immediately reached out to a repairman to fix a towel rack and broken chair. I'm not sure what more you expected.
I hope you find a different property that meets your expectations in the future.
We spent the 4th of July week and could not have been more pleased, The location and proximity to the beach was incredible and the entire north side of Scarborough Beach State Park is essentially yours as well as other local residents. The house was perfect with a great yard and deck for us all to enjoy. Waking up and having a coffee on the deck, watching the sun rise over the ocean is amazing. The area is extremely well kept and is a great neighborhood to be in for any extended stay. Brian was always available throughout the process as well as our stay. Could not have had a better beach vacation with all of our family.
Brian, was very accessible and quick to respond to all communication. The home was a great location for the beach and provided an abundance of beach toys, chairs and wagons. The view was fantastic with the beautiful deck and the side yard of it was perfect for our kids to run around and play away from the road. I would definitely recommend this property. The only negative for me is having to provide your own linens and towels. I’ve never experienced that before. We all had a great time.

Thank you, Susan. I'm glad you had a great week and enjoyed my property/location. It's a special place. I appreciate the insight with the linens as well. Unfortunately, our cleaners just don't have time to strip beds, wash/dry and then make them again. As such, I email all tenants in advance recommending they use VacationHouse for sheets as they will drop off and pick up. I may include this in future years to help streamline, but was just trying to keep costs down in the event people had their own.
Again, feedback is important and appreciated. Hope to see you again in future years!
Brian
This place was perfect for our group of 11! Large spacious bedrooms, decent sized living area, very large deck for dinners/hanging around. We loved the short walk to the beach daily, and the beach carts at the house helped with packing all of our stuff. The owner was extremely helpful and responsive. The house was not properly cleaned when we arrived but it was immediately addressed. We would absolutely stay here again!!

About the host
Hosted by Brian Tomasello
I first discovered Narragansett, and specifically the Eastward Look neighborhood, soon after entering my freshman year of college at URI. I immediately realized the unique charm of the area - just a short walk to an ocean that has such soft, bright sand. After graduating, I vowed to come back - which I did about decade later after buying my first property in Eastward Look.
Over time, I bought and sold a few homes in this neighborhood, but I always held on to 36 Sakonnet as it was by far my favorite. I love the way the house is angled to face the ocean - with a large deck that allows you to get lost in your thoughts while staring at the water and hearing ocean waves. Pure relaxation.
Narragansett offers something for everyone. There are a number of great seafood restaurants as well as the port of Galilee just minutes away where you can hop on a ferry to discover Block Island.
Now that I'm a father of three, I appreciate the area from a parent's perspective. Exploring tidal pools or walking various paths that hug the ocean are a favorite. Bringing my children for ice cream or heading to Adventureland to play mini-golf, hit balls in the batting cage, ride the bumper boats or race go-carts is also a family tradition. You can also charter a fishing boat or head to Block Island for the day. It's all right here.
For those who don't want to stomach Cape traffic, or pay the Vineyard or Nantucket prices, Narragansett is a hidden treasure.....with 36 Sakonnet being it's crown jewel.
Why they chose this property
The house is perfectly angled to enjoy the sites and sounds of the ocean. Just a couple hundred yards from a beautiful (and relatively quiet section of Scarborough Beach called Black Point), it allows you the flexibility to walk back and forth if you need to take a break or replenish your food or drinks.
Large deck gives you plenty of room to sit back and enjoy the sites and sounds of the ocean! Grill and eat as a family outside. The yard is plenty big for games.
I have decorated the home with a nautical theme. Coupled with it's natural shingled exterior, weathered to a Nantucket gray thanks to the spray of the salt water, it looks and feels like the beautiful coastal New England home that it is.
