Also, special occasion extras upon request.
The Viking House is a prime location to enjoy the Sonoma County coast. While Bodega Bay is often foggy and grey, it's been our experience that Jenner generally gets more hours of sunshine, even in the winter. Although it's not unusual to see fog in the mornings in all four seasons, the weather remains pleasant throughout the majority of the year. In summer, it's bright with warm sun, but, with gentle ocean breezes, it remains much cooler than inland areas.
Russian River: Kayaking and canoeing are some of the best ways to experience the river. Just down the street from the house, you can rent a kayak and experience a whole different perspective of the town and the surrounding hills. Paddle around Penny Island, go to Goat Rock beach or get up close and personal with birds and seals fishing in the mouth of the river. When you get tired, you can bring the kayak up to shore at the house and rest before heading out again. Once you've explored the areas around Jenner, you can head upriver to Duncan's Mills and Guerneville where you can also rent equipment to enjoy redwood views in slower moving waters. For more details about the area and our home, visit our website, see link below.
Bodega Bay: A visit to the bustling fishing community of Bodega Bay will be a highlight of your stay. On the way, you can stop at a variety of beaches, including Shell beach, one of the best places to explore wildlife in Tidal pools and study interesting geological rock formations. When you get to Bodega Bay, exploring the shops, art galleries and fine restaurants is a pleasant way to enjoy the area. Also, many coastal adventures can be arranged. You can book and rent gear for all kinds of fishing and watersport outings, including deep sea fishing, whale watching (in season), surfing and more. Horse lovers will enjoy riding on the beach through Chanslor Stables. Golfers will relish memorable views while hitting a round at Bodega Harbour Golf Links, an 18 hole Scottish links style course. Film buffs will enjoy taking a short drive inland to the town of Bodega where Alfred Hitchcock filmed the classic movie, 'The Birds.'

Diane was thorough in her instructions before our arrival and responsive, kind and understanding when we had to delay our arrival to the property due to an emergency with one of our pups. The property was in a great location, clean and well stocked. Beautiful views from the deck which both people and four legged friends could enjoy!
It was amazing to see all the wildlife from the deck looking at the river and the ocean. Exceptionally wonderful stay with excellent accommodations! Thank you kindly
We absolutely loved our stay! The open kitchen was perfect for cooking and gathering, and the views were simply exceptional. We were lucky enough to visit during seal pup season, which made the experience even more magical. We will definitely be back!
Just as pictured; welcoming; many views and delights. Tried to add gorgeous sunset, photo of Great room with windows toward River as well as Pelican group right across the River. Glitch in VRBO upload system,
Great Holiday Weekend stay on the Russian River in Jenner with views of the sea. Super clean and well-appointed home. Easy access and no problems during our stay. A cozy wood stove took the chill off in the evening. Although we needed a small Duraflame log to get the fire started, we found some within walking distance at the convenience store by the Jenner Inn. Heaters downstairs kept the bed and bathrooms comfortable. We spotted lots of birds and harbor seals from the back decks. Sunset views were amazing! Kayakers were fun to watch, too. We'll be back in the warmer months to jump into the water adventures. Our favorite hiking trails were just minutes away at Jenner Headlands. I strongly recommend this home and will certainly consider staying again.
Such a beautiful place and the owners go above and beyond to give you helpful insights. They’ve modernized the place but kept all of its character - the location can’t be beat
What a great location to go and relax. Take in the beautiful scenery from the back deck. We can't say enough about the Viking House and everything it has to offer. We are looking forward to going back in tge summer. If you planning a trip to the ocean, take look at tge Viking House.
It’s all about the location! We saw tons of wildlife including; bald eagles, otters, seals and osprey. We launched our kayaks down the road and kept them on shore to use daily. The coffee shop down the road was also good. Owners were wonderful to work with. We will be back!
This place was wonderful. Great location to chill out and enjoy the scenery. Fun stuff all around and nearby. The home was done so well and as advertised. No hesitation to go back.
We have stayed at Viking House many times with family. We love its location as it allows us to enjoy the coast and the Russian River. The property management is one reason we keep returning year after year.
We loved the views and convenient location. Fun to walk to the wonderful coffee cafe. The cabin was lovely and well equipped. We hope to return next year.
We had a great time at the Viking House! It’s just as described. Very charming and comfortable. The view is unbelievable from both directions. We saw all kinds of wildlife!
