Perfect location away from the bustle yet close to all the “must sees”. Would definitely stay again if in the area. Host was extremely friendly and easy to contact if needed.Back patio perfect for morning coffee with the wildlife.
This was an incredibly cozy and homey cottage with everything we needed during our stay. We loved sitting out on the porch, looking out at the beautiful landscape, and enjoyed visits from wildlife while we stayed. Would absolutely recommend!
Cottage was clean, location was quiet and pastoral. We enjoyed the visits from the local deer. Most basic supplies for cooking were provided. Communication with host was timely and clear. We would have liked more comfortable lounge seating for the evening-- the closed futon was uncomfortable, and the only other option was folding chairs.
this is a lovely cottage for a couple
very private
very peaceful
central to all the great black hills attractions
nestled about 1/4 mile up a gravel road the cottage is clean with all you need to stay for a couple days or a couple weeks
we will likely stay here again
thank you Barbara

The area is quiet and remote..perfect place for unwind. It is also close to attractions and other interests.
Our family stayed here for vacation and it was probably the best stay we’ve had anywhere while traveling! The cottage was clean, amenities were amazing and the beds were comfy. Not to mention the amazing views & wildlife! The location was off the beaten path but still only minutes from Keystone, Rapid City and all the other attractions and parks.
We are already planning our next stay - hopefully next year! We highly recommend Lost Cave Cottage!
Barbara was wonderful....has a cute cottage that will meet all your needs....small...simple...clean...rural that lets you relax after a long day of running around......we hope you'll enjoy as we did
The little cabin was perfect for us. Extremely clean and cozy. The little decorating touches made it very homey. The 2 eight-point bucks in the front yard added to the experience.
We stayed in the cabin from 7/25 to 7/28/24. The cabin is very cozyand well maintained. Nice to come back to a quiet place, after a day of seeing all the sites in the area. We never had to contact or meet Barbara the manager. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.
Very nice and very clean. Everything you need is furnished, all you need to bring is food. Quiet setting. I plan to stay here again on my next visit to the Black Hills.
This was the perfect location for us to enjoy our stay in the hills. We appreciated the simple accommodations that met all of our needs. There was a small maintenance issue during our stay which Barbara addressed immediately. We enjoyed watching the deer from the patio and hearing the rooster in the distance every morning. We hope to return to this property over the next few years as long as it is available!

Not good
The cottage was perfect. We loved the porch. Our bikes were heavy, the road to the driveway had big ruts in it from the rain, hard to drive on a motorcycle. We had to turn 90 degrees on a hill to get a run up the gravel driveway. It would have been nice if both the driveway and road to the driveway were paved with asphalt
Barbara was very nice and friendly and met us, which I loved. Some people state they rent to meet people from around the world but then you just speak to them through the portal and never actually meet them. Then you know it is just for the revenue.
Barbara was very responsive to our needs. The property was clean and comfortable with all you need for short - medium stay, because you have a kitchen section with a regular gas stove and can actually cook if you want. 12 minutes from Keystone. 20 minutes from Custer Park and Mt. Rushmore. Would definitely book again. Thank you Barbara.
Very clean. Quaint, comfortable, convenient, private. Nice quiet area. All you will need is stocked for you. Very nice accommodating host.(NOTE: Doesn't have a pool but the survey required a respone in that field)
This place was cute and very clean. Has most everything you need. Good place for a couple. Driveway was a bit of a problem with a motorcycle ruts at bottom. Our advice is go to top of hill turn around and come in that way. Much easier

The place is misrepresented....it is not a cabin, it is a metal building turned into a place to stay. It is about 8 miles from the nearest small town...the town is at the foot of the black hills not the place to stay.
We were given 4 bath towels for 3 adults to use for 5 days.
So we used the same towel for all 5 days:((
The place was clean and the back porch that is called a deck was nice to sit out on....Don't think I would want to stay here again.

Gives nice escape into nature. Deer, turkeys, rabbits, foxes and once even a bobcat was seen on the property! Great Black Hills location. Beautiful views, quiet country setting. Close to Mt. Rushmore and Rush Mountain Cave and amusement park.
