Great Stay at Beautiful Home

We had a wonderful stay at this property. My older children loved the swing! The house had plenty of room to spread out, but nice gathering spaces for us to connect. The hot tub was in a perfect location for privacy and convenience to the rest of the home. The fireplace and fire pit were highlights for us. We absolutely loved gathering around, and having such a huge centerpiece to have a cozy feel. The floors are to die for, and I loved how they creaked when we walked around. It felt like a true cabin! We washed and dried several loads (someone fell into the lake!). The machines were great! The one major downside to this property was, unfortunately, the kitchen. Every dish we pulled out needed to be re-washed. We took out many things that had grease still caked on it. There was even a bowl that someone had clearly had popcorn in and just put back into the cupboard. The knives were dull, the plates and bowls chipped, and the cookware was really worn. Things were mismatched and hodgepodged together…and not in a cute, intentional way. The pot filler is a nice addition, but part of it is broken and water leaked all over the place before we realized it was broken. The dishwasher takes FOREVER and dishes came out dirty. We had to run it twice.Overall, I would recommend this property to someone but I encourage the owners to check in on the cleaners, and replace some of the kitchen items to make this a 5 star stay.

amazing cabin

rented this place out for a week and it was even better than expected. The home is amazing and had so many hidden treasures around the home. we had stuff planned every day but we found ourselves most days wanting to stay in the cabin watching movies and hanging outside on the swing. a perfect place for families or even friends.

Gorgeous cabin destination in the woods!

This is one of those amazing cabins that you can book just for the cabin! We barely wanted to leave the house to explore! It was so well put together that it was its own destination! I would love to see it in the snow and sit in the hot tub. We will definitely book here again. Gorgeous cabin!

Amazing "Lodge" experience.

Loved our stay at this house. If you want a "Lodge" experience up on the mountain, then this is your place. We didn't end up going up to the mountain due to icy conditions and were totally content just hanging out at this house.

Great Getaway near Mt Hood

Exactly as advertised, spacious cabin with wonderful amenities. There was a burn ban when we stayed but the hosts left wood inside so we could still use the two inside fireplaces. The hot tub and tree swings were excellent and fun amenities to use when we stayed.

Overall, a cool place to stay

Decent property -- it was a cool place to stay for a few days with friends and family. Good amenities and ample space to accommodate 8 people. Plenty of outdoor space to roam around. A lot darker on the inside than the pictures would lead one to believe, despite the many skylights throughout the place. Also, relatively close to other properties. Overall, would recommend.

Stunning Lodge in sync with the surrounding forest

When we arrived at the lodge, our jaws dropped…the photos could not compare with the beauty of this property. Not only is the building respectful to the old growth forest surrounding it, every fixture and piece of furniture and art is so beautiful and well-chosen. The curation of the space is almost an homage to the aesthetics of the Timberline Lodge on Mt. Hood. The location of this property was perfect—close to many spectacular hiking trails. The kitchen was well appointed, hot tub was wonderful after a long day of hiking. I would love to return with family in the future.

Fun Stay

The Sycamore Lodge was a really fun home. There were really cool features and it was great for our multigenerational family. Unfortunately, we were left without gas which fuels the heater, hot water, and stove. It took multiple visits by personnel to resolve the issue on Christmas Eve.

Amazing Cabin

This is a great cabin with plenty of sleeping spaces if you have a lot of kids. Only downside was the upstairs full sized bed was fairly uncomfortable. Downstairs bed was great though. The kitchen was better than most cabins we’ve stayed in and the overall cabin design was really cool. Outside had a hot tub, fire pit, horseshoe pit and a giant swing which was really fun. It would have been nice to have an early checkin or late checkout option but this is definitely one to visit if you get the opportunity.

Would definitely recommend and would go again! Instructions for the property and check in were easy and clear to understand. Family friendly! Comfortable! Beautiful!

Beautiful Cabin near Mt. Hood

We had a minor hitch in our check-in process, and had to delay while the cleaning crew finished. Not a big deal once we were able to get access. The place was immaculate and the photos of the outdoors don't do the environment justice. It is majestic giant trees down a winding road. It feels like you are out in the middle of nowhere, but you are close to Packwood grocery stores and cute restaurants. Highly recommend the Zig Zag Inn for a cozy feel and prices that haven't changed in two decades. Wish we had even more time here, but it was a perfect launching off point to visit Timberline Lodge and spend 3 amazing sunny fresh powder ski days at Mt. Hood Meadows.

Just perfect!!

The reality of this stay was even better than we expected. This was a dream come true to stay in a fancy cabin like this! My 5 year old daughter loved the swing and sleeping in the bunk bed. The secret loft in the very top was super magical too! We were disappointed that we couldn’t light a campfire but as a native PNWer I totally understand the responsibility we have to take care of our forests. Hopefully we can stay again in the winter when it’s wet enough to have a fire! The dishwasher was confusing since it obviously needed some repairs, but that was the only thing that was even borderline annoying. It is a magical place. We can’t wait to come back!

Sycamore Lodge Review

The couples from Wisconsin could not make it because of the travel disaster that occurred across the country over the holiday weekend. My son was able to stay there because he lives in Portland. I am VERY disappointed there wasn't ANY consideration to refunding some of our money or offering any kind of credit for future use. Both VRBO and VACASA stuck strictly to their policies. We are unlikely to use VACASA again. Plus talking to someone in Egypt and Belize about the situation does not help.

Amazing property, disappointing hosting

What a great place! Full of hidden areas for kids, a huge tree swing, and places that made a cousins trip a bit magical. Highly recommend. Hosting-wise, a bit disappointing. The communication with vacasa was great (much better than previous experiences), but the general hosting is a little sloppy. Nothing major, but little inconveniences showed up all the time. We arrived and there were no paper towels or napkins, so we had to get that. The hot tub smelled moldy, so we had to try to treat it, but the materials were not in the labeled boxes. The check out instructions have you going around the house to strip beds, set thermostats, hunt for light switches, etc. Basically, lots of things like that. We’d love to stay here again, can’t say enough good things about the place. If you are looking to stay, plan on making a sweep of the place before settling in.
